If somebody knows where Sarah has her regular haunts, could they *poke* her there that she can start signups for her Standard game? Thanks.

This isn't really helpful, but I have not seen Sarah at DM since the move. And I personally don't have any other way of contacting her, don't know if anyone else does.

I'm going to move her down a few spots and let somebody else step up. If she comes back soon, I'll elevate her back up, otherwise I'll remove her from the list and she'll have to sign up again.

I could just do it and let Verb spank me later if I'm wrong. Once my other game is nearly over, I'll just post signups for the fast game if I don't hear from Verb.

As long as the fast queue is just you and I, Lily, you have blanket permission to run fast ones to your heart's content. ;-P

Will do, once I make the changes I mentioned in the Activity thread. This week is crazy at work, so I'll get some stuff done, but you'll be the first ever mod for a real newbie game.

Ok, some slight changes incoming. If you haven't already done so, please check out the Inactivity thread here in OG. It has some discussion about the changes that are coming soon to a OG near you!

 

For newbie games, we can still have them. The training, however, won't come as much from vet players to newbie players, but from vet mods to newbie mods.

 

I like Aemon's idea of having some newbie games with vets around for QT interaction and advice - that can and will still happen. But it won't be it's own category of games here...it'll work into the simple games we'll have.

 

Aemon, PM me if you have specific questions. Everybody else: please bear with us as we make small tweaks here and there until the final product is available. I'll be posting stuff before it happens for questions/feedback, as the playerbase is where our power is.

 

The big change, however, is that the Themed queue is getting blown apart. There will be the option to have multiple big games going on at once, but there will be a process in place before somebody can just sign up and drop a huge game on everybody. Stay tuned.

As soon as the design is complete and rolled out. I'm hoping sooner rather than later, but I'm at the mercy of timezones, work/sleep schedules, and Barm. Mostly Barm. He's evil.

How big is a big game? I keep seeing mention of 'large, complex' games. The game I'd been planning to do in the old Themed queue is not huge, but it's definitely not your traditional mafia setup at all. I guess my question is, do the 'complex' games have to be large?

I'm curious where mine would fit, too, but I wanted to give Verb and Wes time to get things structured.

 

Complex doesn't necessarily equal large. I ran an X-Men game on another site that had 2 cults, a mafia, a SK, another solo survivor, and the town. Everybody was roled up. And it was 17 players.

Okay, that's about the size I was thinking for my game as well. I'll hold any further questions until you guys have things settled :D I'm excited to see how it all pans out.
