What do you mean what to do? Where you go, they go!

I'm going to start a thread for the planning of this in a public place so everyone involved can get into it. Do you think it would be easier to hit the WT public forum or the Welcome Inn forum??

  • 2 weeks later...

ok, public planning thread is up HERE.

Also, I sketched up a little bio for Olmena, the Green we're sacrificing. Lor mentioned her in the last post in that thread, so feel free to shudder at having to take her along with us. LOL

Physical Description:

hair- brown

eyes- blue

body- lean and tall (height around 5'11")

Age- at the time of this RP (which is NOT in line with the main timeline, btw!) Olmena is about 65. (Lor is 85-ish, if that gives you a reference point.)

Birthplace- Amadacia, hometown: Mardecin

History: Olmena was born in Mardecin, a medium-ish sized city just inside the boundaries of Amadacia. She was raised to hate and fear Aes Sedai, though she never met one until she began her journey to the Tower. When she was sixteen, she fell and broke her arm while carrying in a load of firewood. Being the only daughter of a farming family, however, she didn't have the luxury of resting until it was healed. She still had chores to be about and it was while carrying them out she learned she was special. She channeled for the first time while washing clothes in the stream behind her family's homestead. The soap had slipped away from her and she couldn't reach it. In a fit, she stretched her hand towards it and... it flew at her head! She was violently ill afterwards and her mother knew exactly what was wrong. Olmena was contemplating drowning herself when her mother talked her into leaving Amadacia and going to the Tower to be trained, instead. Her mother wasn't Amadacian, so had never embraced the Aes Sedai-hating ways of her neighbors and couldn't bear to think of losing her only daughter to such idiocy. She sent Olmena to be trained, even going to so far as to use her meager savings to buy her an escort to Tar Valon.

A few years after being raised to the Green Ajah, Olmena met Weslie and bonded him. They were on a routine border patrol last winter when they were attacked by wild animals. Olmena was suffering from an illness and, thus, not at her best when the attack started. Weslie tried to fight off the pack of animals, but they overpowered him. Olmena was forced to retreat back to a small borderland estate they'd passed a few days before, alone, feverish, and armed with the knowledge that Weslie had died protecting her. She sees his death as useless and stupid, and has not recovered from it fully. She's skittish, especially around animals and cries at anything that reminds her of Weslie.

My thoughts on new Heads... I changed my mind and started a new thread so we can keep this one to planning this RP.

As for what happens with Jade, I say something comes up and she can't go with us on this trip. She's the Ajah Head, coming up with a reason shouldn't be too difficult. In fact, Lor's already thinking taking all three of us out of the Tower is a bad idea, we can run with that, if nothing else. We'll just roll the weaves she was going to teach Kathleen into Rasheta and Lor teaching them, if that's ok with you?

Either way, I'd like to get the 2nd thread started this weekend, since both Visar and Kyn have at least checked in to the thread in the WT forums. Kyn's gone for the weekend, but he'll be back on Monday and I'm pretty sure we won't have left the grounds by then, anyway. How does that sound with you ladies?

That's fine with me Lor, Rasheta is weak in Earth though she'd need some help in order to teach those weaves...and by help I mean a ter'angrel or something. I can't see the whole thread when i'm replying *sighs* I'm good with the next thread starting soon. Just lemme know when its up and i'm there. I'll be sure to bug Visar too. LOL

Yeah, that's annoying me about our pretties being turned off, atm, too. It's really annoying.

Rasheta, when you get a chance, can you throw a post in there responding to my last one. Interrupt Jade and tell her she can't go because of some big issue that the Hall is voting on in the next day or so and then curse because you have to train Kathleen, but you can't because you'll be gone on this trip. (please forgive the horrible run on there... ick) Then we can bring up taking her with us and get her in that way.

As for Earth weaves, Lor can tackle them. She's an odd duck, in that her strengths are Fire and Earth. She's good with Air and Water, but is horrible with Spirit weaves (ie, she can't Heal a scratch).

And Kathleen... we're getting this ball rolling! :D I'll start the thread now while my kid is watching TV. ;) Just meet us in the stables!

I was about to post and then I realized I'm not sure how much I would know before I left. Would she have been told about the journal and the full mission or would she just have been told that they were taking her out to do Battle Weaves and then she'll be told later? I don't really mind either way, but I don't know what you would have told her.

Since she's new and not a Sitter, we wouldn't tell her very much about why we were going on this trip. She'd know we were taking a trip and probably know where we were going, but that's about it. We'd put off telling her as long as possible, hoping that we wouldn't have to. While prepared for trouble, we're not expecting to have any. We're aiming to get in and get out before the White Cloaks appear (though that's totally not what's going to happen. ;) ). Does that help?

Thanks, Rasheta! :D

Yep that helps a lot. Would she have warning that she would be learning the battle weaves or would that be a surprise when she's out there? Just wondering what thoughts would be going through her head as she comes to meet you guys to leave and what she would be preparing for.

LMAO! Picture that conversation for a moment... "Yeah, I know you've just taken a oath not to kill people with the Saidar, but just in case you need to, we're going to show you how to do it. From horseback, even! Ok?" ;) Or better yet, to steal a line from Pirates of the Carribean, "the [oath] is more of a suggestion than a guideline..." LMAO I think I'm sleepy, loopy! Please forgive me... *coughs*

Yeah, we'd have told you we were going to teach you the weaves, though it would've been more like Rasheta had already made those arrangements and instead of canceling them, we're just making them portable. ;) I can imagine that's exactly how the conversation would've gone, too.
