Greetings everyone,

My name is marchon2884.  I'm new here, been lurking for the past month on these forums and reading Dragonmount for about two years.

I'm in my middle twenties, married without children.  I live in New Jersey, where I attend a Theological School.  I'm studying for a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Christian Education.  In college I majored in Religious Studies and English LIterature with a focus on creative writing and composition.  I enjoy reading (obviously), writing short stories, poetry, novellas, and essays, walking in the woods and playing board games (most particularly RISK).

I began reading WOT while in third grade, about 1993.  I was thunderstruck with its intensity and length.  My brother and I had been given the first two books for a Christmas gift, and we absolutely devoured them.  I frequently borrowed the third and fourth books from our local library, but for some reason they never had the fifth book!  I ended up abandoning the series for many years because I could never get past that fifth book block.  Finally, in college, under my own steam and working several jobs for extra money, I began buying the whole series, dusting off my old paperbacks and reading it in earnest.  I fell in love all over again.  I'm currently on my second read through the entire series.  I must admit that I skipped ahead and read most of tGS when I got it for my birthday this year.  Now I'm going through the entire series so I can read tGS and truly appreciate it.  I'm currently (as of this posting) half-way through A Crown of Swords.

I already posted in one of the forums in a very heated discussion (probably a bad decision, though I was trying to bring some peace and understanding to the discussion).  You can read that post here (http://forums.dragonmount.com/index.php/topic,49899.60.html) to get a feel for my writing style and the type of discussions in which I participate.  Thank you all for holding these boards and for giving us information on all-things-WOT.

The real question is, can you walk in the woods while writing a novel AND playing a board game? I'm curious to find out  ;D

Welcome to Dragonmount! I hope you enjoy yourself and find your favorite place to post in (thuogh it seems like you're doing well on that front). Since you specifically mentioned enjoying writing, please check out the Role Play part of Dragonmount. We have a lot of fun there and it's always a great opportunity to improve upon one's writing (not saying you need it, you sound more than qualified, but I know I sure do  lol).

If you take an interest in doing so and have any questions, my PM box is open :)

Cheers,

Nyn

Hi hi! I'm Limi! Nice to meet you! :) I'm sure you'll be bombarded soon with all the info about the Organizations and such the DM has to offer. So if any of it or anything in DM confuses you please feel free to send me a PM or post any questions here and I'll be sure to help you! <3

Welcome to DM!

Of course, you can avoid the Ajah complexity by looking elsewhere at DM, for example, the Band of the Red Hand. DM has much to offer, so make sure you have a good look around before diving in. And don't be afriad to ask questions should you get lost and/or confused - we will do our best to help.

But whatever you do at DM, have fun! :)
