I was marked down for spelling things 'Gray'. That be American. So despite the fact that that's how its spelt in the books we were writing reports on we lost marks on it.

My english teacher was a Nazi.

Don't feel bad Luckers. All of my english teachers were Nazis to. And i'm freakin' awesome at the subject, and i still couldn't squeak by them with anything.

To make a teacher cry, especially one that has it coming, just makes your day for some reason.

Verin is the the Forsaken who's hiding in the tower. Mesaana was the name?

Verin wasn't Mesaana, because Verin is dead. Mesaana is still in the Tower. And besides, Verin hasn't been in the Tower since book 3 or 4, i think. If she'd stayed in the Tower it would've been mentioned. And besides why would a Chosen, betray their own ajah?

Did they also make you spell "behavior" as "behaviour? Crazy Aussies!

And wtf is "vegimite". Eww!  :D

I am australian. Nuff said.

Seriously, though, its 'behaviour', and vegimite is a thick, black-brown substance that tastes delicous. It is only disgusting if silly people like americans and foreigners use it like a dip and dip chips in it, in which case it would taste VERY sour. If you use it like a sensible person would, and spread a small amount on toast, then it will taste fine. Thank you very much.

This has been discussed before, but the popular theory seems to be that Mat's letter talks about the location of the Horn of Valere.  I hope it has some key to freeing Moiraine.  Surely she was given orders as a member of the Black Ajah that were directly in relation to her closeness to Moiraine...  So maybe she knows some things that could help Mat in freeing Moiraine... I dunno, just a thought.

If it is the Horn, why wait 10 days?  Is that how long it was going to take Verin to deliver all of her other letters and get to the tower to reveal everything to Egwene?  Maybe she had to get the Horn from the tower and hide it somewhere else (presumably wherever she said it would be hidden in Mat's letter)?  I also wonder if the "wait 10 days thing" was just because she knew she would be dead after 10 days, so whatever she reveals as a member of the BA won't effect her oath, because she knew she would be dead?

Wait a tick... the horn... metal... music... courage all in one object... Mat will be unstoppable against the finns.

Interesting. The Horn does incompass all of those things prescribed by the Finns'.

Not unless the horn is made of iron and shoots fire.  It's not metal that's forbidden, it's iron, and fire is one of the items that's needed as well.

Courage to strengthen, fire to blind, music to daze, iron to bind.

The Finns are like the Fair Folk of Celtic myth. Music is like a drug to them and makes them lose all sense of logical thought. Iron scrambles their "personal magnetic" fields. Fire, they're plain scared of.

Verin needs that committment from Mat - either to satisfy her oath or because she's asked him to do something that will interfere with something else that she's set in motion. If it's just to satisfy her oath, it doesn't matter, if Mat reneges, so long as he gave his word.

She does make a reference to various things that she has started in motion. Mat is obviously tasked to take care of one of them. Maybe, Perrin is involved with something else.

As far as we can figure out, Mat has already been in Caemlyn for a while before Verin meets Egwene in the Tower.

So the 10 day- 30 day deadlines may have ended, or be close to ending.

it cant be made of iron, otherwise it would have rusted away after 100000+ years of the wheel, i assume it has always been around, because Brigitte and the other heros have always been the heros of the horn

Yeah, but it's magic. If it can call the heroes of legend back from the grave, it can also stop itself from rusting.

You know how birgitte knows heaps because she was reborn dozens of times since the breaking, (and presumably the other heroes did as well). What did she do? Presumably she did hero stuff, but there weren't any big happenings or events that a hero could have been a hero in apart from the Trolloc Wars, hawkings rise and the hundred years war. Those lasted a decades each but thats nothing to the rest of the 3000 years. What hero stuff did they do?
