Who filled the stasis Boxes?

Ok so the darkfriends male aes sedai went mad because the dark one filters wasn't available to them. One question though, why then didn't Ishy go mad? He was free from the death of LTT to Rand killed him in the Dragon Reborn.

I know Ishy is a little mad, and all the other forsaken say he is too, but his madness is another kind... Saa- brought-on. (Plus some say he was already mad during the war of the shadow)

This puzzles me!

Didn't he channel the True Power exclusively?

If the dark one filters was unavailable then the TP should be unavailable too.

And he couldn't be using only the TP because Rand follows him in to the dreamworld in their fight in Tear. He recognizes a bend or something that he follows, which would make it saidin Ishy is using, at least in that particular fight. We know he uses it a lot later (as moridin), but not so sure in the early books. Anyway. If he was free for 3000 years, he would have a lot of stasis boxes found by now, compared to the rest of the Forsaken. Pretty scary

I think Demandred might have meant that Aginor's research was the thing that made him become a Chosen.

Wasn’t his research into making shadowspawn?  That is not something he would have been doing while fighting for the light. And the Quote suggests that he was doing the research and then became Chosen. Could it be that RJ just made a mistake. *gasps* How will I go on?[

I don't think it was a mistake. He was reflecting on how Aginor was dressed (like a sissy, in Demandred's eyes). Demandred thinks that the Chosen are better than the rest, so obviously Aginor is an aberration as far as Demandred is concerned. He would never have been Chosen, if not for his research - that's Demandreds opinion, I believe.

The BWB:

It is recorded that Aginor went over to the Shadow because only as one of the Shadowsworn would he be allowed to do the sort of research he wanted.

he wasn't free for 3000 years straight.

every 1000 years he had a period of 40 years in which he was free to roam the world, all other time he was inprisoned with the rest of them

I must have missed this. Do you have a quotation to go with this?

yeah, sure. i got a couple.

from RJ's blog

But for the others, it was a deep and dreamless sleep.  Even for Ishamael, except when he was spun out periodically.

from thw BWB according to Ideal seek

it seemed possible that Ishamael might well be thrown out of the prison holding the others and drawn back again on some regular cycle

and finally from wot wiki

Aran had heard claims that people had encountered him as long as 40 years after the sealing of the Bore.

and

Ishamael came to Artur Hawkwing's court as Jalwin Moerad....Jalwin disappeared after 40 years, never aging a day.

It probably wasn't every 1000 years. We know he had a free cycle in the years before the Trolloc Wars when he gathered and trained Dreadlords, and another shortly after when he set up the Black Ajah. Thats two cycles with around 350 years between.

But yes, they weren't that frequent--and likely they weren't all as strong a manifestations as the Moerad period--note in his free period near the beginning of the Eye he appeared like a flickering mirage.

The free periods we know of are...

1. The first forty years of the breaking.

2. Training Dreadlords and initiating the Trolloc Wars.

3. Creating the Black Ajah in the aftermath of the Trolloc Wars.

4. Sending Trollocs south again to destroy Hawkwings empire, and when that fails appearing as Moerad the councillor and poisoning Hawkwing against the Aes Sedai. Also sending Luthair to Seanchan, and fiddling with the prophecies that went with him.

5. Killing Jarna Milari for commanding Tamra Ospenya's death and initiating the vileness.

6. In the Eye of the World before he gained final release.

Five and six seem to be two different manifestations as he was physically present to force Jarna Milari into the ter'angreal, where as in the Eye he seemed to be a flickering image. On the other hand maybe the Eye situation was the tail end of the Jarna manifestation--or possibly he was pulled back in just prior to total release. I'm not sure.
