The other forsaken

Does anyone else wish that RJ elaborated more on the other forsaken, The ones that weren't trapped in the bore? And isn't it curious that Lews Therin never rants about the nameless foresaken, Rand has no memory of them, and they aren't used to scare children into obedience?

I feel a little sorry for the forgotten forsaken. They try so hard to be evil then they're just forgotten.

Eh...I know what you mean, but I sorta liked how RJ gives us the outlines of what happens but leaves us to fill in the blanks.

As for the forgotten forsaken, it makes sense. People only remember the foremost people. People remember Napoleon but not Murat, Hitler but not Rommel etc.

Also, they won't the most powerful so I guess there's that.

Yeah, no-one's ever heard of the Desert Fox. Perhaps not the best example you could have come up with, although I suspect you've forgotten anyone who'd be a good example.

Most of the thirteen featured Forsaken knew Lews Therin personally before they went over to the Shadow. Ishamael fought him, Lanfear loved him, Demandred envied him, Sammael converted specifically to oppose him, Be'lal brought swordfighting to the battlefield with him, Moghedien served under him... Im happy with the Forsaken there are, theres no need for any more if you ask me. Not with the likes of Taim, Isam, Shaidar Haran and Fain about. Plus it had to be thirteen in order to coincedentially fit with the 13/13 ritual, which I think isnt necessary to turn people to the Shadow at all.

I think you're mistaken. The OP's not asking for more Forsaken, he's asking for an idea of the unnamed ones. He doesn't want to see them, just know about more about them. If I recall correctly, I seem to remember one of the Forsaken mentioning there being thirty of them? My memory is a bit hazy, so I might be wrong, but that's something I've always remembered.

I wasnt mistaken at all, I didnt say Rinkai wanted more Forsaken. Im saying I think if any other Forsaken were given detail it would take away from the current thirteen. I bet half of them were pulled down by the current Forsakn themselves.

You're thinking of the number granted access to the TP. During the War of the Power, every channeler who went to the Shadow was a Chosen, so there were almost certainly thousands of them.

As it is, it's probably not all that unlikely most of them are forgotten by history, but surely it's not unreasonable that some small thing survived about some of them. Or even the other Chosen having to think of them. "Like that time with Johnny the Chosen when we balefired that group of hippies." "Good times."

I wonder if the 13 Forsaken were in SG to trick Lews Therin to turn him to the shadow by force. They just got beaten that day and got trapped.

About the other Forsaken: we don't know that many names from the AOL at all! The reason is that it isn't that important for the story. We only know some things that have ties with the Dragon, the Aiel en the Forsaken and some small outlines of society in the AOL.
