BSG Mafia - Day 4

Gamers question: Do you all consider lurking in WhoseOnline poor game play? I will stop doing so if the consensus is that it is, but it can be a valuable guide on who is sending messages back and forth to each other. During Day 1 of a mafia game with a sudden reveal by Kivam.....only one group would be communicating in this way, wouldn't you agree? Conspiring on who to vote for without looking scummish.

Do you guys care to explain what your private messages were about just now?

I hate that play. It's not game relevant data.

I disagree, with the viewing of who is online. It shows lurkers, and lurking is a mafia strategy. So in ways it helps, and in others it doesn't.

I am going to vote [glow=red,2,300]mynd[/glow]. He is the closest to a lynch and I might not be to active tomorrow. I just moved to des moines and I might have to go with my dad to get some construction equipment. I will try and get out of it.

You can't lynch me, I am linked to three other innocent players. We are four way lovers so if you kill me then you kill the other three and the mafia wins the game. All you have to do is finder-view me and you will know this to be true.

I don't believe it either, but this is exactly what Kivam did when he and MNRose were about to get lynched. Those of you paying attention should already know who I am and why this lynch is a huge mistake.

Hm. All right, I'll [glow=red,2,300]unvote[/glow]. I find it all a bit fishy, but at least now the finder has a target. I'd suggest viewing Kivam, since he is the more dangerous player (no offense, rose :P). Also, we cannot assume that both are innocent once one is found. One of them could be a treacherous lover and lying through his/her teeth.

I don't really buy the Mynd lynch right now. Fortunately we still have some time, so I'll reread etc. etc. and see if anything changes my mind. There's still dragonsworn, also.

No, that's the point. It's a form of evidence not based on gameplay, which makes it outside the whole point of Mafia. Whether I'm a townie or scum, I hate hate hate that play.

For one, I'm not sure how we got to 7 votes here because I thought I knew who the mass voter was. It could have been MNRose's tactic to garner votes on herself in order to use them on me. Might not be, but I find it incredibly suspicious that I'm the one on the block here.

Despite many of you knowing who I claim to be by now, I am puzzled that, with all of this going on, you still are trying to go through with this lynch on me. What did I do again that makes me the most likely target?

Both Dragonsworn and MNRose have received multiple votes so if Nathan Petrelli is in this game, then it must be one of them. And if this is the case, then Nathan is likely not for the town. Personally, I think Kivam is lying through his teeth and that he knows the finder will get an innocent view. If I were to design this game, I would make Baltar look innocent until his blond Cylon companion was eliminated, just like in the show.

But I would like to know why everyone sees me as the bigger threat here...and are allowing Kivam to lead this lynch against me.

On the Whose Online thing, I don't see it as a problem especially since all it says is "sending a message" which is totally circumstantial. Not to mention that there are so many counter-measures to this, like Lia is using QuickTopic in this game and many of you go to hidden status anyways.

You could ask yourself, why would a mafia player even bother with lurking in Whose Online during Day 1? Of course, a few of you voting for me already know I'm innocent as many of you hopefully know who I am by now. Still, the vote continues. And why again? Why am I the most scummish again?

Hey gang, here is a great resource for everyone on Battle Star Galactica, the version that this game is based on. If you want more information on your character or *sips latte* want info on the possible roles of others, than this is the place to check it out.

Blig, I was making a point. Kivam suddenly announces that he is linked to MNWhiteRose and that we are supposed to put on the brakes and believe him. He goes on about how if she was mafia, someone would have coached her on not saying those things and then he suddenly admits that he is connected to her. He's contradicting himself here but because he cried "oh noes, two innocents will die" we are supposed to believe him? He agrees that MNWhiteRose looked mafia but then questions me for calling her on it?

Sure, we could use the finder thing on him, but who is to say that he isn't in a role that will give an improper read? Kivam is using a lot of absolutes in a game that has a lot of gray area in it. This is clearly a game with many more roles than just Finder & Healer.

Now, if you will excuse me, I have more coffee to drink....not from Dunkin Donuts in this game, of course, but rather from another coffee vendor chain. That's the best I can do without getting modkilled. Now, think about what I would likely be able to do in this game given that info.

If you still want to lynch me, then DIRK BENEDICT!!!

Mynd, Kivam didn't accuse Rose of being Mafia, he said that she over reacted to your comment. I have to agree that she did, but then I can see it from here point of view, you do like to put names out there.

As for your sudden claim that you are linked to 3 other people seems a little too much for me. I get who you are, or at least who you say you are. That is the only reason I'm not going to vote for you, though Lis did say not to take too much notice of the names.

There seems to be a few paeople telling the finder who they should view. This is something I find suspicious, it's a good way for the mafia to direct the finder to someone they want viewed, not viewing them and maybe even use that person as a target.

I think it was Hybrid who said that. He seems reluctant to put his vote on Mynd (maybe knows something we don't 1. Mynd could be mafia with him, 2. he knows Mynd is innocent), and is now trying to direct a Dragon vote if nothing else.

Mynd whatever flippin' hint you're trying to drop with your latte thing, I don't get it, never watched the show and Lia said it wasn't a requirement so it's just distracting. You make me crazy but you do that every game so that really does me no good. I'll give you one more day to live and see if you can convince me.

I'm starting to wish I did know more about the show :-\
