Hi, I'm new here. I'll ask a question and hope that this is the right place. If I'm wrong, I'll keep that in mind for the next posting. In Lord of Chaos, Egwene sees a woman painting a stable the color blue. Who is this person? I feel like it might be Mesana but I have no idea really. Any thoughts? Waiting on the gathering storm. I'm treking thruogh the audio books with my wife whose never read it but really loves to listen to it with me. Some of the parts freak her out and she loves all the female characters. Hope I can get some answers.

Back on topic, can you provide a quote for when it happened?  It's likely not of any significance but you never know.

It seems like some sort of communication Leane uses, perhaps to contact her eyes and ears in Tar Valon.  I found two instances of fresh blue paint in the Dreamworld in LoC.

 

Loc chapter 8 (Nynaeve's pov)

Once she had glimpsed Leane through the window of a tavern near Southharbor, of all places, but when she hurried inside, the common room was empty except for the freshly painted blue tables and benches.

 

LoC chapter 14 (Egwene's pov)

The rest of Tar Valon had been struck off already, after the fourth time she nearly walked into a copper-skinned woman, this time nodding in satisfaction as, of all things, she studied a stable that seemed freshly painted blue.

There is also this:

...They were in Tar Valon, in the part where Nynaeve had caught a glimpse of Leane last time. Leane had not been very forthcoming about what she had been doing; increasing the awe and legend of the mysterious Aes Sedai, she had claimed with a smile.

Presumably Leane has instructed her eyes-and-ears to paint something blue to confirm they have received communications from her in Salidar, so she will know the agents are functioning again. Oh that's in Under the Dust, LoC.

 

At this thought I am happy, because I had been half fearing Leane might end up being Black, and have lied about the agents in Tar Valon, but as she told the truth on that I believe she is not.

Encyclopaedia site identifies the woman as Leane.

She has seen a copper skinned woman four times in Tar Valon.2
