Welcome Talmanes! You made a good choice joining! Most of the band will be here shorlty as all the members are scattered around the globe.

cool, I donno if I've met ppl from the same family on here before, except Danya, her sis used to be on.

 

hehe welcome Talmanes, I know how you feel, I got siblings too, ALOT of them. 7 brothers.

 

four of them are still in the house, I am the oldest in the house, but they keep bumping me off to play other comp games.

LOL, Siblings!! Hehehe, we've got two pair, although some of them are on leaves of absence at the moment. Danya and Ms. Cantfail are sisters, and so are Vorkia and Praeda. :lol:

Anyway welcome to the Band talmanes, enjoy your days as a RR and be sure to use up your strikes, its the only chance you will have to get away with breaking band law! The Band is the best Org by far here at DM (of course i'm a little biased).

 

*passes a Flaming shot* Be sure you blow the flames out, it takes some getting use to and I don't want you to singe that pretty little face of yours. The archers are the best regiment so don't listen to any of the Infants or Calvary, they are deliusional and don't know what they are talking about. Archery takes skill and refinement, something the other regiments know nothing about :wink:

 

Honestly you should be able to easily pick your regiment once you have completed your Raw Recruit days. Just remember, if you want to have fun and be a part of some of the best pranks, you'll go with the archers, something I"m sure you will decide on your own once you see how much fun and energy we have.

 

Untill then, just live it up and have fun!

Welcome talmanes01! An email explaining important information about the Band is currently sitting in your inbox! Take a read!

 

Basically, the Band of the Red Hand is the Travel and Music ORG at DM! By signing up for the Band, you have joined the successful Raw Recruit Scheme. By signing up for the off board site, you will be able to experience the whole process to the maximum! The new about to be announced Executive Officer, or I, will assign you to one of the three Regiments (Archers, Cavalry, Infantry) for a week, where you will be given various tasks to perform, hoping that you will get a picture of what time in each Regiment is like. After a week with each Regiment, you will be asked to pick your final choice of a Regiment.

 

While being a Raw Recruit, there is nothing stopping you from earning points like any other Band member. Points lead to promotion within the Band. Below is a list of possible ways to earn points:

 

- writing reviews on places to visit/holidays you have been on

- writing reviews on music albums and gigs

- replying to other people's reviews and asking questions

- composing Jak O' the Shadow verses

- getting articles published in our monthly newsletter, The Hornsounder

- monthly roll call in the Band's private boards at DM

- any DM project we may have (currently a Battle Project, so speak to Horn if interested)

- and much much more I cannot think of right now!

 

While being a Raw Recruit, you get 4 free strikes. This enables you to break Band Law 4 times without being punished my the Redarms, the Band's own police force. If they see any Law breaking, they will either drag you up for a trial or give you a fun spot fine to do (usually 100 lines of something witty). Channeling is a major no-no in the Band. As is spilling Battle Brew, our beloved drink! Once you have used up your 4 strikes, or join the Band's ranks officially, you will face the full force of Band law like any other Bander does!

 

Of course, we are not all about working 24/7, as we do let our hair down now and then! We are famous for our bar brawls, which happen frequently! Expect one soon! We also like jokes, tales, funny pictures - things that will make us laugh!

 

We also have many games - at DM, which can be found in the stickies, and on the off board site as well! Also, take the lessons to learn our ORG Game, based on the luck of dice! You get the selected weapons of your division, and can fight anyone in the Band! It is currently being revised, but the ideas will all be the same!

 

If I have left anything out (which I expect I have!), do not hesitate to ask questions! Someone will be able to answer them for you!

Vorks, you and PT are SISTERS????? woah, not a place I would want.

 

Talmanes, just to let you know, Praeda Turnawhatever (PT) and I have had some rather gross encounters, and when she left *is sad that TP had to leave* we weren't on the friendliest terms, but it was all in fun, (sort of) I call her TP, cuz she was acting sooo gross all the time and ppl would call her PT, so I switched it around to TP.

I look forward to your time in the Archers. I am sorry that you have to suffer through the Cav and Infants, but it just can't be helped, just realize that it's only a week, so I'm sure you can get through it. :D

Actually I'm picking her up for her Birthday on Monday and taking her Bar Hopping so she will be here for a couple of days, and if I know my sister (and I do) she will make an appearance.+

 

And Sie Cair if you ever visited the proboards you would have know Praeda was my sister :P Not like we ever kept it a secrete.
