Dirty Cops Mafia - GAME OVER!!!

I hope you all can see why I didn't want Newbies.  :P

 

I don't know about everyone else, but from this, I can deduce the following:

 

1) At least one Newbie is in off thread communication with another player. 

2) Snapshots - must have either been a pic or perhaps a screenshot of a pm.

3) This is obviously not the first newbie mistake that has frustrated the Mod.

 

I am going to assume that at least one of the newbies is mafia, and depending on the accuracy of my read tonight, I think I'm gonna know who it is.

The newbies are not frustrating me as much as I'm frustrating myself for not foreseeing certain things.

 

And try to remember, regulars, that there are newbies, so try and teach them while not being snobbish or angry or whatever.  They are trying to learn the ropes just like you had to.  Only their learning the ropes in a complicated and very non-newb environment.  :)

Now, I am not one to pick on the newbies, but of the four, MCS has been acting the strangest with his flip-floppin around.  His votes seem to be un-vetted and his "I heard he was a treacherous player" comment was a giveaway in that he is definitely communicating with someone off thread.  I don't buy Talya's defense of him reading other games to get that idea, but I am beginning to understand why she is defending him.

Cases for the other three:  Jeran did jump the bandwagon on me just before deadline.  Cubarey did jump on the Danya bandwagon rather easily.  And Peacesells, while I actually appreciate it, didn't lynch me when he had every opportunity to do so. 

 

So, Thorum.....do you really think four newbies is way too many to investigate?  Or are you simply trying to impede our progress like a true Mafia Scumbag Dirty Cop?

Four newbies is enough. In most games one in three to one in four of the players is maffia. Which means that knowing one of the newbies is maffia is worth nothing (at least as long as that would give them a significantly higher chance of being evil than the rest of us). Which chance remains equal: 1/4.

Are you seriously trying to argue this?  Well, I guess you have to at this point....if I was mafia, I would too.  I mean, come on now....there are four newbies and one of them sticks out more than the rest.

 

...but anyway, we are gonna have to see what transpires with the night actions.  If I am still alive, we should consider lynching MCS.  His coroner report will help me confirm if I am a Normal, Naive, or Paranoid Cop.  And that's all I am allowed to say about that without the finder vote.

My reasons for voting Danya were clearly stated.

Thus, it may not be a great reason, but its mine and I will stick with it.

 

Unlike you I do not float 10 conspiracy theories at once to see if one sticks (a scum tactic). When there is very little evidence to go by I so state that fact and make a decision on what evidence we have.

Wow, that was quite touchy there Cube!  My comment on you was quite insignificant compared to the case I was building on MCS, but your over-reaction here has raised you a few notches on my list.

Oh, I think that MCS jumping in to defend Danya or because he was told you're a treacherous player is suspicious at best. However, your suggestion that reading his coroner's report would clear you is inaccurate ( if he is innocent any comments he said about you would have been said in ignorence) as any comments you make would not necessarily clear anyone if it turns out you are innocent.

Where did I say that lynching MCS will clear my innocence?  I am trying to 1) figure out who is mafia, and 2) trying to figure out what kind of cop I am. 

 

Suppose I get back a mafia read on MCS but he is in fact innocent?  That would mean that I am either a Paranoid Cop (always gets a mafia read) or a Crazy Cop (always gets the opposite read).  Lynching MCS at that point would tell me how accurate my read is.

You tend to take thinkgs a little too personaly Mynd and only pick up bits of info. I have not defended his actions at all, I tried to make you see that if you had read the sign up thread you would have seen he said that he had read the last game through! ::)

 

I actually agree with his voting style as being suspicious, but then I think the way you have taken everything personaly is suspicious too. It seems worse than normal. I thik Danya's change of vote a bit odd.

 

One thing will will have to take note, is that we can't take what someone says as being a finding as accurate. Espicially if there are paranoid cops out there. Plus there maybe mafia who will take advantage of this and then say they must be paranoid when their view comes out innocent on lynch after saying they were mafia.

 

And I thought you were touchy over Cube's comment I actually saw it as tongue in cheek after what you had said, though there maybe some merit to it... :P

 

As for the newbie thing. I would guess that on the law of averages that one could be a mafia, but it depends how Dsage as done it. If he has chosen his people for various roles or done it all randomly (thats how I prefer to play, but not everyone does). If it is random, there could be 2 newbies or none!

I'm not saying there is no newbie mafia. I'm only saying that using statistics of "at least one newbie is maffia" is useless. Meaning you/we should target EVERYBODY who acts suspiciously on an equal footing. Not newbies worse BECAUSE THEY ARE NEWBIES.

He states a fact which was true. You suggested it was could have been from talking to people I just pointed out another option. There can be two sides to the story, I thought you were being too dramtic over something that could have come from somewhere esle.

 

Check my previous posts (before night) and I had meniotned my suspicions of mcs, Danya and you. Please read things thoroughly. I'm not saying anything that I haven't said already.

 

Reread your posts and you will see you seem to attack those that would dare say anthing about you.

 

I'm not telling anyone to believe you or not believe you, they can all make there own minds up. putting words into my mouth that just weren't there.

 

As for the findings I was just expanding on what you had said. Guess what, we have newbies here, and Dsage said to help them. So it was worth mentioning. I'm sure I'm not the only who has thought it. If I was scum I would have actually been better off not mentioning it and hope it went away!

If you notice, I posted what I thought was my farewell post just before the deadline with the names of those who voted me.  I was trying to help out in the event of my death; however, fortunately, peacesells chose not to lynch me (which I found both relieving and disturbing). 

 

There are two simple axioms that ring true in every mafia game, no matter what the scenario:

Players who try to gain information and present it in the thread are pro-town.

 

Players who try to discredit others and mislead are mafia.

um calling myndrunnr childish is like calling water wet.  but im not sure he is any more crazy than he usually is.  talyas post is a bit emotional and there was no need to say that her daughters smarter than myndrunner.  we already know this.  myndrunner looks like scum even when he isnt in a mafia game. 

 

it is tempting to just lynch myndrunner in the day.  we will be rid of a nuisance and we can piece together who is who based on who voted for him yesterday.  we can do the same for danya but she hasnt been very active.

Right now? It sounds an awful lot like you.  I'm sorry, but you are making absolutely no sense right now.  You posted something because of what you thought I might say?  You are making stuff up now. 

 

Talya, you are a much better player than this.  In games where you were innocent, you have always calmly dismissed my accusations for what they were: "beating the grass to startle the snakes."  But you seem to be the one who is most startled and your posts are the very definition of overreaction.

For the record Mynd, I found out that you were sneaky and all from Eclipse in one of the ORGs I'm in. DSage was trying to find the last few players for the game, and Eclipse just gave me a warning about you. I did take a look at the most recent game you were in though to confirm this. Therefore, you can not prove that I have been talking with someone through PM or that I am mafia from this.
