Hello!

 

I just registered today to post my AMOL prediction, and I saw that catfishncod had already posted what I was thinking.  I'm not discouraged by that, though.  Nope, I rather think it means we are right.  So, I did post in the AMOL predictions thread.  There is a link to my prediction in my signature, too.

 

I had been posting in another WoT forum for about a year when I decided it had just gotten way too negative.  I think DM seems far more positive and friendly.  I am glad to have found DM.  I am far too into the WoT books to not have people to talk with who know what I am talking about!  Heh, but I have converted my husband into a WoT head.  Heck, even my pastor and his wife have read all the WoT books!

 

Cherise Kelley is my real name.  That is a real-life picture of me in my avatar, working at the last Renaissance Pleasure Faire that was held in Agoura, California, in May of 1988.  My signature picture was taken there, too.  I don't know how many other WoT fans are also Faire people at the various historical re-enactment faires worldwide, but I bet a fair number are!  After all, they designed it as living history, but we lived it as designing fantasy.  =)

 

Anyhow, in my 20s I was a faire person.  Now, in my 40s, I have re-discovered reading fantasy.  If there are any threads here where people tell of other fantasy novels and series that they enjoy, I would like to be pointed to them.  All the best books I have read, including WoT, have been recommended to me by others as their favoirite books.  If there aren't any such threads here, then by all means let's start one!

You'd probably not be surprised at how many of us attend Renfaires and such; the last time I went to one, I ran into Muirenn (one of our Red Sisters) at the gate *grins*

 

As for book recommendation threads.. you can probably find one on almost every social board on this site!  There's a ton to do around here (from discussing theories, socialization, and of course, the role play), so poke around and see what interests you!

 

If you have any questions about anything specific - don't be shy to ask; everyone is here to help!

Welcome Cherise! I'm from Belgium and got to know WoT myself through a boyfriend I had. I was hooked from there on, though I had started reading them out of boredom while he was playing his computer games lol. I hope you'll have a great time exploring the site and please feel free to stop by the Band if you're interested in music and travellig or just for a social call. The WT is where all the Aes Sedai and Warders are hiding out, but don't worry, us Reds aren't anywhere near as scary as everyone thinks ;)

 

If you're interested in the Aiel or the Wolfkin you should definately try those Orgs out as well. And the Kin is a great place to just relax and hang out.

 

As Raeyn said, there's discussions going on about the books just about everywhere, and I'm sure you've noticed the discussion boards already too, given as you joined right in already with your prediction ;)

I have been poking around mostly in the structured discussion threads.  I really enjoy trying to predict what will happen next based on all that has been foreshadowed.  I equally enjoy reading others' predictions and theories. 

 

That is the way I read the stories, too.  The whole time I'm reading, I'm categorizing characters in my head, "Hm, is this character a darkfriend? They said this, and they did that, if they do THIS then yes they go in the Darkfriend category..."
