Newbie from New Zealand

Hi all,

Just started reading the books again (started tGH this morning)and have frequented the Dragonmount website for news for awhile now and thought that I should find out other peoples opinions in events from the book as I have read them about 12 times and don't seem to be able to think differently!

Am hoping this forum will enlighten me to some things I haven't been able to figure out ;D

I actually registered the day Robert Jordan passed away, may the light shine on him, on the back-up boards but then it got all changed around so confused myself trying to figure it out, surprise surprise it was easy when I thought about it!

If anyone can give me some pointers to get going that would be great :D

Look around and if you find something you like just mozey on in and say hi! Also if you tell us some of the things you like to do and a little about you we can point you in a more specific direction.

Just submitted myself for novicedom (always wanted to be an Aes Sedai, haven't we all really!)

so that should get me going!

Just turned 21 and I'm a bit alternative, heavily into music, films etc.

My sense of humour is edging towards the sarcastic and cynical, I love irony.

I just like open-minded people that don't tae life too seriously, it's better to laugh than to cry!

 

Am wandering around now trying to find a wee niche for myself!

I'm also from NZ and have just finished reading all 11 books for the first time, so I've been avoiding the forums until now knowing I'd end up reading spoilers lol since I started WoT I've been completely obsessed so I'm hoping Dragonmount can tide me through until MoL :) I'm looking for other peoples ideas too to see just how much I failed to pick up on the first read through. Hoping I can make my way around without too many problems!

I do recommend reading them again and again and again! I still notice new things each time I read them!

I'm hoping that I will time it perfectly finishing all of them and the release of MoL, I may have to read a bit slower though ;)

Am also trying to figure out how to get a cyber cookie!

I see another Nyn...and another one with 'el'. Just don't join the Band of the Red Hand, as you will drive me mad, as there is an el Nyn there already. Of course, that shouldn't put you off at all... But as you are heavily into music, you probably will, as we are the music and travel ORG.

Hey, I'm from Aus! Don't hold it against me though, I mainly make crude jokes about Tasmanians  :P It's always good to see other Southern Hemispherians.

 

I don't know many people here who take life too seriously. Then again, I haven't been near the Debates & Discussions board for about a year.

I don't suppose you're the arty type at all, are you? Because we have a creativity Org called the Illuminators. There's an active writer's group there and a worldbuilding project which needs new blood (or just blood in general).

Hey there, I'm the other el Nyn around these parts. :D

 

As others have said, do take a look around, I see you've already found the Orgs. The Band is great, since you are into music, I imagine you'll find a lot of kindred souls there. And don't pay attention to Corki, driving him mad is practically a pasttime at the Band. ;D I also recommend checking out the Wolfkin, we love to chat and play there and your kind of humour will probably fit right in. :D
