The HSX Update

Moon was released in theatres on Jun 12, 2009.  All stocks are delisted after a few months after release.. I think it depends on how long they make money at the box office.  I am assuming Moon didn't hit it big...

I am already up 88K today... but that is usual for me.  I don't think I will do very good with league stats because I own much more stock than all of you.

I picked up 1K of Anchorman 2 and also 3K of Lobo today..err.. and something else....Cowboys and Indians... yeah.

You know I was going to pick up some Lobo but decided against it when I saw that Guy Ritchie wants to keep it down to PG13. I think that will deter some of the more "classic" (older) audience draw, and frankly I think even the young comic book nerds aren't too familiar with this comic.

Cowboys and Indians sounds pretty good. There were a few others I think will make good money but I'm at school and can't check HSX from here. :/

Damn, I thought they didn't count when a movie hits like 3 theatres nation wide.. I thought they'd at least possibly wait until award season...

I picked up 2K of Lobo, 1.5K of New Moon, and 1K of Cowboys and Aliens on Empy's suggestion.  Thanks Empy.

My biggest earner is Green Hornet because I own 7K shares of it.  Sadly it only has made me about 140K.  Second is Legion which I picked up about a week ago and it's made me almost 50K with my 3K shares...I'm thinking about increasing by another 1K shares since it's doing so well so quickly.

Deadpool has been my worst stock with me owning 2K shares and it losing me around 3K.

I recently invested in some smaller members that are making me modest sums, and it's almost not worth it unless they just explode in the box office.  Tom and Jerry has made me almost $200 with my 500 shares.  I bought 1K shares of Barbarella and it's made me a little over 1K.  Brave New World, The Other Man, and Brief Interviews with a Hideous Man have cost me minor losses, less that $500 combined.

Lastly, Anchorman 2 has made me 35K and The Road has made me just over 5K

Ant-Man

ANTMN

H$23.28

Every time we get a new Hulk, Spider-Man, Iron Man, or Fantastic Four flick, tons of new articles hit the wire about how Marvel has big plans for Thor, Captain America, and ... Ant-Man. It's probably because Ant-Man isn't quite as popular as those other guys that we don't feel any geekish urgency towards an Ant-Man movie, but ... heck, at least Ant-Man has had a finished draft for a while now. And that's more than you could say about ol' Thor, right?

Plus it should be noted that said draft comes from one Edgar Wright, yep, the co-writer and director of great comedic entertainments like Spaced, Shaun of the Dead, and Hot Fuzz. Find me a movie geek who wouldn't want to see a Marvel hero as filtered through the lenses of Wright and his loyal team!

But now that the massive Disney + Marvel deal is in place, we're hearing a few buzzings (from Entertainment Weekly and BleedingCool.com) that Ant-Man could maybe, possibly, sometime down the road ... become a Pixar feature? Keep in mind that this is simply geek-friendly speculation, and that even if Edgar Wright DID combine his skills with Pixar, well, the flick wouldn't be ready for about four years. Check out the piece at BC.com right here and then share your thoughts below. Me? I think it's a perfect fit: The Pixar team working on something with a strange and colorful history -- along with a movie-geek filmmaker who is all about delivering the fun.

Ahh I can't be that mean.  I've owned this stock for about a year though.

The Los Angeles Times (via ShockTillYouDrop.com) reports that Paranormal Activity writer/director Oren Peli will next helm Area 51.

The film is a "found footage" take on the secret location, that supposedly houses a UFO, as a group of folks try to break in.

Production is said to be taking place in Utah.

psh, had it!

So yesterday, there was this huge error at HSX, and basically what it did, was duplicate all your stocks, so when I logged on yesterday morning, I was worth over 14 mil. Deciding to take complete advantage of the error, I sold of a few of the duplicated stocks, and bought 10k of Narnia 3. :D

I am bummed I didn't take further advantage before they froze trading.

Neener. The only thing that stopped me from selling off the duplicates of my big guns (Twilights, Alice in Wonderland, etc), is that I was afraid when they noticed the error and corrected it, they would take away my original in order to make up the money. Didn't happen that way...guess I'll just have to hope for another one of those errors someday. :D

So I guess I didn't sell off my 9 stock fast enough, I might have taken a loss on that... got the Area 51 one though.

I've got a few starbonds sitting around, and my top ones are Amy Smart and SJ... maybe I should take a closer look at what projects those two are doing lately.
