It sure would be nice to have a real Finder and I do get this odd vibe from Kivam but I can't say the dude's actions don't raise any suspicions and his claim seems too good to be true...

*sighs*

Could the innocents stop acting weirdly so that we swiftly catch the evils? :P

I'll try to put order to my thoughts tomorrow, now I'm off to bed.

There are no possible night actions left. you are now stuck with what you have given and curse you all. you suck. big time. i mean 3 hours and 15!!!!!!! new messages.

we shall now have to wait for slimacral. AND i might just request that he teases you for a bit.

Request received. You may all now know that Blig Blog was not modkilled for shamelessly advertising that rather fun if extremely slow paced browser based MMO.

And now I'm stopping in just to let you know that the Admiral and the Minister will not be participating in this game.

Seeing red yet? I was actually going to post this up before I went to bed last night, but being me, I got horribly distracted, and I forgot.

The silence is deafening. You walk down the street, hands on your weapons, eying every building warily, only a little nervous. The windows in every building are dark, and you think you see motion in the blackness of the night. You freeze, staring in fear at where you thought you saw the motion, when quite suddenly... nothing happens at all. Taking a deep breath you steel yourself, and continue walking home. When you get home you bar the door and sneak upstairs and sit in the chair next to your bed. Holding a shotgun across your lap, you hold the nights vigil, too fearful to sleep.

It is now day, with 15 people alive, it takes 8 to lynch. Alys will be around to let you know when night shall strike once again.

Well, what do you know, I survived the night.  ;D

Okay guys…

I viewed Jelly last night, but my viewing was blocked by…  something.  I wasn’t given any specifics on why, but a roleblocker role would seem the obvious conclusion.

I guess the fact that I was blocked is open for interpretation, though I know what my leanings are.

This is going to come down to who you guys choose to believe, and I’d like to sort of lay out how I see this.

1)  Jelly’s “viewing” has so far netted us:  a lynched innocent.

2)  My viewings have revealed a (potential – I added this just for you, Kiv  ;)) traitor in our midst, though again, you have to believe me for that to have any value.  As I said, I also know the alignment of one innocent team member.  If you believe me…

3)  I know that the way I’ve played this isn’t the way that most would play it; it’s actually not the way I usually do either, but it seemed like it’d be interesting to see what went down if I let the Jelly claim come through.  I really do think that some study of Vemy’s lynch is going to reveal some interesting things.  I also personally still think that Jelly’s not on the level, and that not revealing yesterday probably irritated the mafia quite a bit.  If they were trying this gambit this early, it’s probably because they wanted to draw out the finder to kill me off early.

You’ve got basically 3 possibilities here:

1)  Jelly’s for real, I’m faking

2)  I’m real, Jelly’s faking

3)  We’re both real, and have next-to-useless roles, given the confusing results we’ve gotten

Looking at the above facts, the only reliable one you guys can look at is that Jelly’s gotten an innocent killed with a “viewing.”  It’s the only hard fact in there.  I may have allowed it, but I didn’t instigate it.  It’s an important distinction.

I know it’s easy to say that I could be coming up with all these circumstances to screw with the innocent team in aid of my evil compadres, but look at what I’m saying for a second.  I’d hazard that most fake finder claims would cut out the extraneous crap I’ve got going on here:  bonus viewings at the start of the game, blocked views, turncoats….  This is stuff that a smart mafia would leave out of a finder claim so as to not complicate things….  Like Jelly’s doing right now, for instance.

In the interest of full disclosure (and at the risk of hurting my case here), I will point out that there’s the possibility that I’m wrong and that we’re both (il)legitimate finders, and I have no way to confirm that for you guys right now, my viewing having been blocked last night.  I don’t really think so, but I can’t rule out the possibility definitively.

Anyway, I’ve said about all I can.  I have some ideas about yesterday’s lynch and last night’s dust-ups, but I’ll let others have a turn for now, after this long-ass post.

You play that game? It is awesome...

Well, maybe we follow different logic on this, but I know that my viewing was for you last night, given the impasse we're at.  And my viewing was blocked.

Maybe there's something I'm missing, but weren't you the least bit curious if I was on the level or not?

There's one other concern that comes up with your result; any thoughts on what it might be?

Posted

Well, to couch it in more direct terms, if you didn't view me last night, should I take that to mean you're assuming I am in fact a finder, or are you assuming that I'm mafia.  It's gotta be one or the other.

The other concern is, the last viewing you received, for Vemy, was either fabricated, or just wrong.  So my question is:  when you "viewed" DPR and "got a PM" about the result, what exactly (without quoting) did it say?

Sitting on the crapper, waiting for something to happen...

But nothings gonna happen at all. Dun Dun Dun.

No, but I would if I could. And I'm getting a laptop sometime this summer. Yay!

Ok, time for me to stop spamming my own game.

Eat more fiber.

*facepalms* :P

And a big thank you to Jelly-Jell-Jell, for dragging me into this pit-o-doom.

Here are my thoughts: I have either lost my mind, and decided that Jelly was absolutely owning her claim, so I decided to go ahead and clear myself! Yay, I'm innocent!

Or, someone does not like my approach to this game, and is going for collateral damage.

Or, everything is as simple as has been claimed. We have wonky finders and everything is all in confusion.

The fact that no one was night killed is telling.

I can't wait to see who else is a finder today!

Posted

Ahh Jelly, why didn't you view the dude? or even yourself? At least we would have known if you were completely paranoid or, if they gave you some specifics, maybe you were just insane...

I won't have internet access until sunday so I'll go ahead and post my thoughts, even if I didn't have time to do a re-read and probably missed things.

Last night non-kill means either they went for the bluff and lost or that they chose not to kill anyone to saw chaos and confusion in our minds, making us suspect both Jelly and the dude. Or they're just real lazy.

As I said, I like the idea of Kivam being a turncoat, on a hunch, because he kept asking for Alys to confirm his status when he knew she couldn't, and also because his theory against the dude is way too convoluted and far-stretched to be believable. Besides, he immediately jumped to the conclusion that dude was evil, not a weird Finder. Sounds to me like he was grasping at to make a case against dude and that's exactly the kind of move a Mafia with his back to the wall would make (that's what I did in the last game anyway).

Besides, it don't add up, I don't have time to go for Kiv's quotes but his theory is that we lynch him today, discover that he's innocent and dude plays the: oops, guess i'm not the real thing card. It's pure speculation but I think that if it were so, he wouldn't have given us such specifics about the turncoat and the bonus review.

See ya sunday (and please, don't make me read 20 pages ^^)

----- aaah don't even have time to read what you just posted :P

Does that concern you at all, Jelly?

And DPR, I wish I knew what to tell you.

I am in no way endorsing this as an action, and in fact I would discourage it for the obvious reasons, but I'd looooooove to know who the healer protected last night.....  Seriously, though, healer, don't say anything.  ;)

Posted

Ok...for the time being I'm going to ignore Jelly's viewing. Because to me right now this could be either she is paranoid/insane like has been mentioned or she's mafia playing a game with her team.

Is anyone curious at all as to why there was no nightkill?  I can tell you why - its because I guarded the Dude.  Like I said, I had a feeling that he was mafia.  With the Dude unable to act, they couldn't submit the kill.

Jelly, tomorrow night you should view the Dude.  While a "guilty" verdict won't tell us anything, an "innocent" result will tell us he's mafia.
