Here we are at week number three in our Poetry Challenge of the Sashes!!  Currently the Purple Sashes are in the lead, followed closely by the Reds and Greens, with the Blue's chasing close behind!  What will this weeks voting do to the running? Hmmm?

Interestingly...there are only TWO entries...meaning Two Sashes are going to lose out this week completly!  BUT..they can make it up next week!

Ok here are the rules:

Everyone vote once and post that you have to get your points!!  also...

ALL KINSTERS AND VISITORS ARE WELCOME TO VOTE!!!

Results will be shown at the end of voting...which ends on Sunday Night!

And the entries are:

#1:Sing a Song of Sashes

(refrain)

Oh sing a song of sashes

They’re such a sight to see

Simply something special

So glad one’s tied on me

(I)

A young lass went a’wanderin’

Her wayward feet did roam

She set out for the backyard

But ended far from home

Alone now in the big world

Oh who would take her in?

She needs to find a new home

Someone to call her friend

(refrain)

(II)

Our young lass soon grew tired

And stopped beside a brook

She heard a noise behind her

And crept to take a look

There beyond the daffodils

And tulips so pristine

Young ladies joined in dancing

The sash they wore was green

(refrain)

(III)

They waved the lass to join them

Her eyes went open wide

For joy was on their faces

Such joy they could not hide

She ran to join their dancing

And meet their warm embrace

Now if you see our young lass

Green sash is 'round her waist

(refrain)

#2 Ballad of the Kin

The Ballad of the Kin

The Ballad of the Kin

(Refrain)

Do you not know the Purple Sash

Of the most wondrous Kin?

And of the Tower white as ash

Who would not let them in?

(I)

The Kin is filled with ladies fair,

And gentlemen of note.

The fairest are the purple sash,

‘Twas determined by a vote.

(II)

So fond are we of purple sash,

We resist to let it go,

In favor of the red sash,

We try to tell them no.

(Refrain)

(III)

On quiet feet we ran away,

Seeking refuge in the Tower,

Trying, Purple ever to stay

And yet maintain our Power.

(IV)

Alas, the Tower our Sashes burned,

And sent us all away,

We could not keep our Purple spurned

If novices we'd  stay.

(Refrain)

(V)

So now we’re welcome on this day

Back into the fold,

We’ll never more run far away,

We’ll stay here till we’re old.

(VI)

And someday we must surely give

Our purple sash away.

Yet grow we must just as we live

As we are here to stay.

(Refrain)

Argh!  I missed the voting.  We were camping with the Cub Scouts over the weekend and I was traveling all day Monday (to Camden, Arkansas).
