Sound track for WOT

Any of you ever have a sound track in their head when thinking about the WOT.  Not sure of how many Queensryche fans there are here but I always think of 2 songs from thier "Warning" album" :

Road to madness.

I always think of Soundgarden when I read the books. Black hole sun comes to mind

I LOVED QR when I was in High School. And yeah, I could see some of their stuff showing up on the soundtrack.

I pretty much always have some kind of soundtrack in my head when reading. It most certainly does not include any kind of modern rock music.

I only have a soundtrack when there is a scene which I visualise as if it were a scene in a movie. For example there is a scene quite early on in the books where they come across Trollocs and a Fade. It is the scene where it describes Perrin as nearly being pulled from his saddle. Lan takes on the Fade. Any of you in America may not know this song but I have Bodyrockers 'I like the way you move' over that scene, not the verses, just the guitar / bass that starts off the song, right up until the part where Lan and the Fade start at it, then bursting into the chorus.

 

I think it's all personal really, some people like classical music overlaying their reading, I dont personally care if it's classic or modern, but certain scenes definitely lend themselves to one genre in particular.

 

Also, I havent come across a scene for it yet, but the words to 'Fix You' by Coldplay are so emotive, I would love to have them on a soundtrack. In my head I have a scene where a battle is being fought, in some caves. One half of the army is perhaps led by Mat or some other 'main' character, the other by Rand, and Mat's half becomes trapped when the roof collapses. Rand and his soldiers try to move the rubble but there's too much of it, and Rand is scared to use the power in case the rest of the roof collapses. They give up and return to camp, in very low spirits, thinking they've lost half of their army. In the dark, over the hill the sentries raise the cry, lights are coming, as they get closer, we see Mat and his army who have gotten themselves out of the rubble, carrying as many of the injured as they can manage. The scene would be overlaid by Fix You.

As an addition, I havent read the scenes where Taim and Dashiva are discovered, but I would imagine the Foo Fighters 'Pretender' would be a good track.

Durring the whole bit in Shadar Logoth where Rand is hunting Sammeal I have Dule of The Fates from the star wars episode 1 sound track going through my head for some reason hehe.

Whenever I read the start of the series "The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories... a wind rose in the Mountains of Mist..."

I always hear this:

I think it just fits the series perfectly  :)

I, being a VERY big Led Zeppelin fan belive the song "No Quarter" would fit most battle scenes. Also, Ramble On, Kashmir, The Rain Song, etc. for the rest of the series.

No way a battle scene could be complete without Drownding Pools Bodies. I see that for a good song on the trailer.

Too bad WOT can never be a movie too. :'(

I have a few songs that remind me of particular characters. The flashback at the beginning of EotW- and Lews Therin in general- have "Fields of Despair" by Dragonforce. Obviously, Mat's theme is "Ace of Spades".

I'm sat listening to the Foo Fighters, and it suddenly dawned on me that Pretender could have been written for WoT. Let me explain.
