I took 2 years in High School but I can't recall my textbook name, sorry.

You should try it though. By learning Latin, I really learned English (i.e. - like why some of the wierder spellings come from etc...)(and why we have "i.e.", "et al.", and "etc".  :D

well, for a start, it's nt really a LIVING Language, is it?

As to textbooks: mine was called "Clavicula" (key in Latin). If you first learned Dutch, you could have mine

I am now in my 10th year of studying Latin. I started in secondary school, and now in my final year of my degree in Classics (I also study Ancient Greek). As for books, I used the Disce Latinum series at school from the beginning before advancing to harder books, but the Cambridge series is also good. Both guide you through the language as a complete novice with fun and light-hearted stories to translate before you advance onto the greats like Livy, Virgil, Ovid, Caesar and the other great authors of the Roman Age.

There is also a Finnish website that publishes daily news in Latin, but the address escapes me.

If you want more information about Latin and how to get started, drop me a PM. I'll get around to replying at some stage as I am currently on a poor internet connection.

Yeap! That's the place! Thanks! I believe I am correct in saying they do broadcast as well, but I am not 100% sure on that.

Only gone through two courses - Ecce Romani and the Cambridge set (which im currently working through)

Personally never found any websites but it might be worth picking up the Cambridge set second hand online....
