my short intro and some quick questions to get out of the way

Hey, I'm long time fan of WoT who has decided it is time to join the group. while i'm here i might as well get my 2 burning questions out of the way

 

1.I am in the middle of a VERY lengthy moving process and I have all my WoT books in storage, are there any places online that i can read the books for little or no cost, I know there are plenty of online libraries but all that i have found have been mostly reference materials

 

2.While I am sure it is hidden in your forums somewhere, can i get a quick simple overview of the future for WoT now that RJ has passed on. ;_;

For your first question, I'm not aware of there being places online where you can read the books. For your second question, I think you might find some answers in RJ's blog.

I have to agree with Raena, I don't kow any online stuff and the blog would be you best bet. But I believe book 12 will be published, at some point.

 

Whilst you are having a look round the boards pop into the Wolfkin, we love to have new visitors. We are the Nature Org as well as being the home of Chilli and TQ, with our very own TQ lake. So pop along and we're sure to give you a warm welcome.

Last I heard RJ had prepared for this and said he made sure someone knew what he wanted to happen.  Basically someone must have his "notes", so when the time comes, the book should get finished.

 

Have fun looking around, I'm sure you'll find a org or three that you'll feel at home at!

I have a friend IRL who found the books online. I don't know where. He was reading them online at work because he couldn't take his books to work with him.

 

The second question... nobody really know's. Harriet has his notes, and the outline for the final book so it can be finished, but we don't know when or if it'll be finished.

I'm sorry, I didn't make clear how extensive my move has been, hence how long it has been since i have read the books. other than book 11 i have not read any of the series for 2 1/2 years. I'm really not comfortable with joining into an active community of fanboys/girls until i have regain my former status among you. Besides when I reread now, it is like the first time, and you wouldn't spoil that for me would you ;D

 

PS Barmacral please ask you friend where he found them, I'm sure everyone here would like to know as much as i do. If I get REALLY desperate i might resort to torrenting the audio, but I doubt i would resort to that.

I have completed my quest and found a digital copy of all the books up to and including 9!!! But now there is a new question; I'm sure you could make good use of the files and it will make quoting the books much easier if we can all use a "find" function, but do we really want to let anyone who reads your forums have instant access to the books? Would putting the books on the site be a form of piracy? I refuse to be a part of that. If people want to read the books they should go to a library or buy the book themselves. I only justify what i did because I already own all of the books, so these are more of backups. Is there an admin or someone i can work this out with, I think this is kind of important.

Absolutely do not post a link to digital copies of the books unless you get explicit permission from TOR.  It would very much be a form of piracy (no different than posting digital copies of CDs online) and could get this website into a TON of trouble

Another good way to stay in touch with the books is to set yourself into the very world through characters in the rolleplay...got questions feel free to pm me, and if i cant answer i'll know someone who can
