Lor's Poem

[Zachary]

*smiles* let it not be said that I don't lose bets gracefully. I seem to have no choice about winning them as long as Anders has anything to do with it' date=' anyway.

 

Therefore, I give you, a poem for Mat. Please keep in mind that I wrote it at 2 AM on a Sunday morning. LOL And nothing rhymes with Manshima, just in case anyone runs into this problem again...

 

*clears her throat*

 

The Eternal Manshima

 

Three Shining Algai on a windless day,

Rode out to a board, picking their way.

With them they took the pride of their Guild,

Their friendship, their might, and not a little skill.

 

Into that day and on into the night,

They continued their way, then found a good fight.

For a fight is what they sought,

as fighting men often ought.

 

In the end, I’m afraid, but one Algai remained,

Though betrayed, broken and hopelessly maimed.

But upright he stood and home he did come,

Returned to his guild and watched with great aplomb.

 

Raised he was, very shortly therein,

And it was then that the fun was to really begin.

For the Der’ was not what our hero was after,

And upon reaching decided upon a new chapter.

 

A life in the Guild, always in the middle,

A step away from full raising, another from the riddle.

Attention he gets when he steps in a thread,

The reputation he’s earned, no matter the abuse upon his head.

 

On through the boards he goes on with a smile,

His laughter, his wit, his charm and his guile.

On through history inside the Tower [i']estima[/i],

Shall walk GeneralMat, the Eternal Manshima.

 

 

;) Congrats, Mat, for winning the bet. I told you, you should've bet a day in a French Maid's outfit. LOL *grins*
