The day started off with much debating.  The hail started to turn the pirates mood sour.  Cries rose up.  "Vemynal the Corpsmaker!" Someone shouted.  Many murmered in agreement.  "Kryos the Crimson!" Another shouted.  Others agreed with that too.

As the day wore on, the Captain grew weary of this and simply went with the general concensus.  Pulling out his cutlass, he prodded Kryos.  "Walk dah plank, matey!"  Kryos the Crimson stared with pity in his eyes as he turned.  He never hesitated, never missed a step.  He calmly walked off the edge and into the waters below.  The crew gathered around, looking over the railing as shark fins broke the surface, only to dive below once again.  It wasn't long before the ship was sailing past a pool of blood.

They searched his quarters and found nothing relating to Ninjas, save it was to destroy them.

Kryos the Crimson, a Pirate, has been lynched.

It is now Night.  Because 36 hours from now I will be in school, Night will be extended until I get home.  Night ends Monday, 2:40 pm (MST)  I would like the Night actions in before Monday, but please send them in before the deadline.

Well while I am sorry that an innocent got lynched, I felt pretty pressured to go for either Neph or Kryos.  I've never played before, so I have no idea what we're supposed to be using to decide on.  I see two people doing nothing but attacking other people, and one person who does nothing but defend themself.  Problem is, I don't necessarily see anything suspicious about either side.  So it came down to the fact that Vemy was now a pointless vote, and I had nothing concrete to use to chose between Kryos and Neph.  So would you have beenmore comfortable if I made up some inflated reason for my vote and hid the fact that I flipped a coin, or eould have been better for me to tell the truth?  Frankly, I felt it was better to tell the truth.

Power without thought is power abused

and you can quote me on it :P

in any event I think day 1 has given us plenty of information, but unfortunately I'll need the wait till my viewing is told to me and whose night killed to process the information.

We knew kryos' death was coming for awhile now so it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, though i did try warning you that I set that trap and he passed it with flying colors. to sum if you don't remember:

By unvoting me earlier he placed himself highest on the vote count and would have been the one to die if no one else took action.

an evil unvoting a finder after their claim makes sense, but an evil taking a bullet for the finder does not =/

Its also sad because in the werewolf game of talya's kryos showed a lot of promise going after me and seeing threw my pattern right off the bat. As a obviously skilled chess player kryos is able to logically process information. such skills are useful and it would have been nice to bounce off ideas from a imo confirmed innocent (obviously in game).

In case i die look at Neph, Talya and bcx closely but not blindly! suspicion is good but its also not good to fear all action! once you've reached decision then action becomes appropriate, though waiting for too much information leads to the situation carrying out of hand.

now i'm almost riping this off from Kivam, but typical mafia groups will have earlier placed their #s out 1 on each person, or had 2 people vote early and another hold off to be a final vote. Likely they never put all 3 of themselves on  a single person (and don't give me the "he knows how many mafia! kill him!" crap. 12 people its always 3 mafia. never been different once my whole time here. Unless 1 is a symp which its said there wasn't).

if we split the vote count into 4 groups-

Page5:

Vemynal (3): Tigara, Loreina, bcxanth

Kryos (2): Barmacral, nephy

Loreina(1): Vemynal

Barm(1): Ilgross

non-voters: Talya, Gryphan, YSH, Kryos, Dark

At this point we can assume 1 evil at least has voted and that likely 1 evil hasn't voted (and forgive me turning my name blue, but I *AM* the finder and it helps me think, I won't change my name blue on the votes till after i revealed). Which leaves Talya, Gryphan, YSH and Dark

of those having casted their votes: Loreina, bcx and nephy all stand out to me as they merely bandwagoned while others came up with opinions, if for stupid reasons. all 3 are newer players though while those coming up with votes are not newer players (cept tig, I like tig's voting me. I mean its me yes, but its active and progressive^^)

Page7:

Vemynal (3): Tigara, bcxanth, Gryphan,

Kryos (3): barm, nephitess, vemynal

Barmacral (2) ilgross, Talya

Ilgross(1): dark

not voting: Loreina, YSH and Kryos

at this point i think we will have 2 evils having voted and 1 evil unknown. Only YSH hadn't voted from before and at this time. Gryphan voted me, nephy voted kryos and talya voted barm. and i find that *VERY* interesting... within 2 pages 3 players, all on my suspect list atm (well, not gryph much but I'll get to him later) went after the 3 people who were highest for votes me 2 (1 when nephy voted), kryos 1, and barm 1 before those 3 voted. Which page 6, talya votes barm, right after gryph votes me, dark votes ilgross. nephy having voted kryos right when people started voting. From this point I'm going to highlight the nephy, gryph, talya connection pink. its not a role, its just my way of visually keeping trak without looking for names. color coordination and all that.

Page11:

Kryos(4): Barmacral, nephitess, YSH, Tigara

Vemynal(3): bcxanth, Gryphan, Talya

Nephitess(2): Vemynal, Kryos

Barmacral(1) ilgross

Ilgross(1): Dark Justice

not voting: Loreina

So right before my reveal talya votes me. just wanted to say that so people don't think she jumped on me cuz of it. At this point nephy had called that i looked suspicious and that maybe she should vote me but she doesn't and i go on my nephy parade. Still, with Talya's, kryos' and Tig's vote on me instead of where they are for the page 11 update I was at  5 votes while kryos was only at 3. talya's vote was the securing vote for that, pushing me ahead enough of the others that people might just "vote vemy since he has the most of the 2 people we should vote". usually thats how the votes are done, either all the murderers spread out and 1 changes a vote later on the day or 1 hodlds in reserve to vote at a better time. I sense the former here. Unfortunately I reveal and screw up their vote. tig unvotes and talya opts to hold he vote. kryo votes nephy with me and they get scared so talya votes nephy between now and page 15 but then unvotes nephy once things cool down and they see she might not die. Nephy holds her vote onto kryos this whole time because he becomes her competition for the lynch.

Page15:

Kryos(5): Barmacral, nephitess, YSH, Tigara, bcxanth

Nephitess(5): Vemynal, Kryos, Dark. Lorei, Gryphan

Barmacral(1): ilgross,

not voted:Talya

(I’m including Gryphan’s vote for informational purposes, though it’s likely it didn’t factor in the day 1 lynch)

and finally the last day. The only thing here that I dind't mention before is that bcx votes kryos instead of nephy, but I'd rather not draw any guilt from this. True it saves nephy, but on its own it isn't likely that just because of that he's evil.

After dsage posts and i quote:

Everything stops now though.

gryph decides to vote nephy

here are the post times:

dsage at- 07:17:54 PM

gryph at- 07:20:28 PM

now, if the times were say reversed i could understand. what dsage wrote *might* have took 3 minutes. But gryph's:

[glow=red,2,300]unvote neph[/glow]

would not have taken 3 minutes to write. Also, if he had written it some how while dsage wrote his, since dsage posted first it would have alerted gryph about it.

but it could just be the thought that counts if you get it? he is new. and everything I have on gryph is *entirely* circumstantial.

next step, whose inactive. you can bet 1 murderer is probably laying low. so who hasn't posted much?:

Dark

Ilgross

Barm

YSH

Gryph

so thats really it atm. I still need the night information before I cna decide on anything for tomorrow if I don't view an evil. But I'd like to comment that the nephy, talya, and gryph link is just circumstantial at the highest level.

cya when I cya^^

OK,Vemy..View me....if your the finder view me and we'll have this argument over with. When you do...you'll find me an innocent. and then please tell the rest of our fellow players what you find....

Very interesting read Vem, I'll have to read it again later.

And an update on my lack of playing... it appears that my 13 hour work days are going to start multiplying... I guess Wine Grape season has only just begun.

I won't be dissappearing completely, I just likely won't be around much this week. Sucks, but it happens.

well. As Vem said, this gives us quite a bit of info. Especially since Kryos wasnt anything close to suspition. That people kept their vote on him I find very strange. For me Neph was a much better option. Doesnt mean shes a filthy ninja, but at least there was more reason to vote for her than for Kryos.

I hopefully will get to be more active this week. Got a new worker in to take parts of my job. (I dont like it when I dont have time to play!)

The only reason I changed my vote is because I'm new to this game. And because of that I felt pressured to change my vote so that we'd have a chance of coming to a decision without DSage forcing it.  I didn't want to change my vote, and I know better now. Because apparently by listening to what other people were saying who've played before, and thinking that maybe they had a point, I've now apparently made it look like I'm the bad guy.

Posted

Well that's bad, but it usually does happen on day 1. It would be nice to get one on the first day...

Well it's night now, lets see what happens now.

When the crew came out to the deck, they were surprised to find Loreina hanging from the crows nest with a sai in her chest.

Loreina the Lillylivered, a Pirate, has been killed.

It is now Day 2.  I will be forcefully ending Day at 7:30 pm (MST) on Wednesday the 26th.

With 10 alive it takes 7 to lynch

***Date reset due to the result RJ's passing had on these forums.  May he shelter in the palm of the Creators hand...***

Awww, the ninjas feared my awesome deductive powers.  8)

Have fun!

:o Totally didn't see that coming!

>.> Now I have no clue who to vote for...... I'll get back to you once I ponder.

oh thank god i didn't die and I didn't screw up the game from posting this early...

to skip ahead with everything I viewed [glow=red,2,300]barm[/glow] during the night not nephy, i still think she might be evil but shes not really a 10 as I thought I was just wailing on her to try and throw the evils onto someone else I might view so they might not target me, in case the healer didn't heal me.

Barm came up a ninja

long story short: I've never been able to read barm as an evil (suras game) and karma hates me, i figured his being inactive was never gonna give me information on him and to use my roll to confirm his innocence/evilness.

I've just bought a xbox 360 and DOA 4 so peace out for the night^^

I've been counting down the seconds until this forum came up (Dsage pm'd me just before they went down) and well... long story short, I am actually the finder, I viewed Vem last night, and he's evil. Full story tomorrow when I get home (seriously, I've had the write-up typed up for a week, just waiting for this)

After totally going for someone to get lynched, and then not viewing her Vemy, you really aren't doing yourself any favours.

However, I'm not necessarily seening Barmy as innocent neither.

you have no idea how i was screaming at you people that no one! fake claims in their first game!!! (sorry for suggesting you reveal safir!)

Not only that, but the second claim is almost always the fake, particularly if the claim is made by the target of the first claim

if you don't believe kivam said that heres the link :P

For those of you who this is your first time, Kivam's considered one of our best and brightest

I'm the finder Talya, because I was going after nehpy for so long for so hard i thought the evils might night kill her if I was wrong, and like I said I not only planned for that but set it up accordingly and tried to see if the evils would kill nephy, obviously they didn't kill her but that also doesn't make her any more suspicious. It just doesn't solve my questions about her either.

But I can understand what you mean by it not doing me any favors.

Posted

As a rule though Vemy evils usually go for the quite ones who give the least bit od information, so they wouldn't go for Nephi, as you had set her up...As for you Kivam quote, He's an excellent player, but in this game I have learnt that you can say something like that but it doesn't make it fact, one day there will be an exception, like the belief you don't sacrifice your fellow evil on day 1, me and kivam did it and won the game...so don't quote others for your defence.

I'm still waiting to see what barmy has to say, and I have an inclination to the person I would rather go with so for now and to get this moving I'm going with

[glow=red,2,300]Barmy[/glow]

Well I'm sitting here at work very bored, and so I've decided to throw my current thoughts out here and see if anyone can help me untangle them. :)  I'm still trying to figure this game out, so I apologize if some parts of my little ramble doesn't make sense.

So first we have Vemy, who goes on a huge campaign against Nephie, and at the end also has issues with me, then claims he's the Finder person.  Now let me add in here that I don't take it personally, I understand he's just playing the game, and that's what I'm tryign to do here too.  So anyway, he says he's the finder, but then when he posts his results says he went after someone else completely, and that person just happens to be evil.  Now, could this be true? Absolutely.  I don't see any concrete reason as for why it couldn't be, but like Talya I also find it strange that he chose someone else. Now he says he has a reason for it, but I just don't have enough experience in the game to know if the reason is a valid one.

Next we have Barm.  He seemed to hold back allot at first, but then he said that he was pretty busy with real life too. And I saw his posting drop off on the rest of the boards too, so I believe that was the truth.  If he is the Finder, I can see why he would go after Vemy in the night, as Vemy is the one that seemed to be trying to lead the lynch mob and be the most vocal about it, and if I was the Finder that's the person I'd check out too. I'm not really sure though, because since this is my first game, maybe I'm just beign stupid. So again like Talya, I shall await to see what Barm has to say.

Aside from that though, we still have the one thing that seemed to be forgotten.  Why was Loreina killed?  Is there usually a reason for why the evil people choose who they choose, or is it usually random?  Now personally it seems like there'd be some kind of reason for it, but after only one day, what reason could there be?

So I guess what I'm trying to say is, that although this new Finder drama is important, let's not loose sight of the one real clue we may have.

Does any of that make sense? ???

Posted

Makes sense imo

and yes, barmy going inactive wasn't just cause he was evil. He has been posting less everywhere and this is wine season so his work will have gone up exponentially.

to loreina's death: honestly about loreina's death I haven't had the time to sit down and think things over yet. If its a shallow reason though the first things that come to mind are: throw me off or they didn't think I'd kill nephy or Talya because i was so bold about viewing them. So they went with loreina cause I mentioned her being a little odd on day 1. But I think the 1st of those two reasons, assuming its a shallow reason, would be the more likely.

help any? I know I'm rather confusing sometimes

Posted

There are loads of rasons they could have gone for, to set her up, it could be random, it could be she was not very active or wouldn't give too many clues.

You can go back a read what happened, and see if they could be a reason. When I have been evil I have choosen for all kinds of reasons but the main one is to go for the quiet ones whogive off least info.

Hope that helps bcxanth
