What will happen with the Seanchan post Tarmon Gaidon?

Effectively 2 different questions.

1.  What will happen with the Seanchan (and their massive forces ... 800,000 ? how many civilians then?) after Tarmon Gaidon?  Will they continue to try to fight or ... ?

2.  In a straight up fight, could Randland defend itself from the Seanchan (who seem to have numerical, channeling, and military superiority) invasion? (This assumes that Randland doesn't need to worry about the Shadow and is focusing on the Seanchan)

Oh yea...

Hi everyone.

The Seanchan will be alive and kicking.  Any truce that is established between them and Rand probably will not last much past Tarmon Gai'don.

Nicola Foretelling, Lord of Chaos Chapter 14

The lion sword, the dedicated spear, she who sees beyond. Three on the boat, and he who is dead yet lives. The great battle done, but the world not done with battle. The land divided by the return, and the guardians balance the servants. The future teeters on the edge of a blade.

The great battle would be Tarmon Gai'don.

The return is the Seanchan

Note:  if the quote isn't exact blame encyclopaedia-wot.org as that is where I copied it from.  Don't have my books with me right now.

Whatever casualties they suffer will probably be equalled (at least) for the Randland forces.  And the Aiel will probably take the most appalling casualties of all.  So, I think that, relatively speaking, the Seanchan will be as strong as any faction in Randland after Tarmon Gaidon.

Mat will probably be instrumental in fashioning a post-Tarmon Gaidon solution.

And the quote is right, cwestervelt.

It depends on how the situation with the damane plays out. If the institution collapses, then their advantage greatly decreases.

But they will definitely still be something of a threat, something to be dealt with even after Tarmon Gaidon is over.

And yes, I do think Mat will be instrumental also.

But I just can't see them compromising their beliefs on the damane. Aside from that, I dont think the damane would want to be free.

i agree about mat being instrumental in the seanchan solution after the big battle.  i don't know how much of it we'll see, short of amol having three distinct endings like the lord of the rings.  but in any event, tuon seems to let mat do a lot of decision making out of sheer curiousity.  she might turn out to be a prettly easy going/progressive empress...may she live forever...

Possibly, but it may increase their strength, as it would likely mean that the sul'dam will begin channelling as well.
