I liked Tel'aran'rhiod and wolfbrothers.

Yes Tell-I-On-Re-Odd the world of dreams was another great one ! Not overly fond of the Woof Brothers myself but then I'm not a doggie person.

Does the basic premise of the entire series count? That the Dragon from the last Age has been reincarnated into a world where the male half of the magic is tainted due to the Dragon’s actions, and as a result the Dragon Reborn is prophesied to both save and destroy the world and is both heralded and hunted by different factions of the Aes Sedai? Cause if that counts, then that was obviously Jordon’s most creative idea.

Absolutely ! You could argue that Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time is the most creative Fantasy series there is.

I'm going to pick a simple one - the Mercedes hood ornament in the museum...

Take it out of the story and the series is still fantastic - no big deal.  But we lose the connection to our recent past.  Very profound for me.

That's one of my favorites.

The cyclic nature of Time - hence the name 'Wheel of Time' is certainly a great idea, very well used for reincarnation shenanigans or to imply our world is merely 2 or 3 Ages before. Plot Armor being redefined as the Will of the Wheel follows, and even the philosophical implications with Herid Fel.

Then having villains which are from the previous Age, and having the books introducing / describing the dawning of a new Age definitely separates WoT from other fantasy epics (but as I write - this is also true for LotR ! but then we don't seem common people on the brink of the new Age in LotR).

Just came across this review of the Diamond Queen demo - pretty helpful if you’re not sure whether it’s worth playing. It breaks down the bonus features and what to expect without being overly technical. Kinda saved me time from testing a bunch of random slots.

Totally agree. The idea that time is a wheel and history keeps looping is both poetic and eerie. It really sets Wheel of Time apart, especially with how the Ages blur into each other. Herid Fel’s take on it always stuck with me too - wish we got even more of his insights.

Yes the whole "Wheel" idea is a great one  , even if some aspects are perhaps a little at odds with our science based historical reality 🙂

I do wish RJ hadn't killed off Herid Fell so early as I would also have enjoyed seeing a bit more from him. Wonder if Jordan originally intended to use him more but eventually decided he didn't have room in the story  ?  Which would be somewhat ironic given the amount of space given to various channelling women cat fighting and Andoran political struggles in the middle books !)

I guess we could also infer somewhat :

Age -2 : Lovecraftian horrors, then the Dark One is contained behind the Bore
Age -1 : the dawning of Man : Atlantis
Age 0 : our current time with no magic - but we could also say we are already moving to the next Age at least since the Industrial Revolution

Age 1 : technological heaven / Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic : invention of the One Power, "mundane humans" are replaced with those being able to channel.

Age 2 : the Age of Legends

Age 3 : after the Breaking : setting for WoT

Age 4 : a bit like Age -1
