How did he find his way into Mat’s dreams?

Expand

Mat was under Liandrins watch and then actually with him.

In the books i'm fairly sure it was through the dark ones minions locating them, specifically Fain in the beginning that led to him entering the dreams.

Yes they would but you specifically linked it back to the book in your post as evidence that it could be him.

Thom is also important to the Tanchico storyline in the books but they have changed several things about him including how they met him and how he got to Tanchico.   Keep in mind that in the show Thom was also a random guy they met in a bar. Incidently I also referred back to the books to figure out who he was before they named him.

What? How does that address the fact you referenced the book in your post about Sandar. I addressed a point you made using the book as a reason for it being Sandar with book points and you have now addressed that with show points?

The show is based on the books so I use the books to make guesses about the show. Its not a hard concept and I don’t understand why it’s an issue for you. What other reference would I use?

Find me any reference to this in the books. You could be right, but I don’t think so.

The whitebridge merchant in 4 kings. The nights preceding Ba'alzamon was searching for them in the dream then that night he is able to talk to them in the room. He says that Gode has located them for him.

In the 2 rivers it is not until Fain visits the town that they start to have the dreams, If he had known that it was those 3 while Fain travelled surely he would have dream walked to them before Fain got there.

So you have circumstantial evidence at best. Nothing textual.

So you are saying despite him knowing that it was one of 3 while Fain travelled back to the 2 rivers from Shayol Gull he decided not to invade their dreams and start pushing them towards the dark?

I’m saying there is nothing in the text that says Ishy couldn’t manifest in Liandrin’s dreams the way he did Rand, Mat and Perrin’s.

In fact, the text rather clearly suggests he could.

Regarding the random nature of finding the bracelet from a random guy met in a bar.  Specifically this was a random guy Mat met in a bar - in the books in Ebou Dar they find the bowl of winds purely due to Mat's random selection of an inn to stay at.  Random is how his nature as a ta'veren manifests.  If he had been pushed off the dock when arriving in the city it would be fine for him to come up clutching the bracelet.

Can’t prove your point so you get mad and throw a hissy fit?

well, that’s the internet for you🤷

LOL No.

You post answered a question that my post in no way asked. You used book information to back your theory I then answered with book information about that point that i thought relevant, you then switched the whole argument to show points.

If you want to call mad and having a hissy fit then go ahead but the GiF was more about my frustration dealing with this line of foolish questioning.

Yeah, I didn’t mind this bit of randomness, but it’s because I have context from the book to know that Mat is supernaturally lucky.  I think they should have highlighted this a bit more in the show.

So what did your post ask?

Everyone keeps referencing Mat being supernaturally lucky in the show, I am struggling to think of clear examples of when the show has shown this to actually be the case.

They don’t.  Just in this instance.  I’m with you, they need to show it more and actually point it out.

They haven’t really had a chance yet. In the books Mat’s luck began to manifest in TDR, but since they skipped that book there really hasn’t been an opportunity to show mats luck. Perhaps it starts with the bracelet.
