Oh - here's an easy Cut; Dead Forsaken stay dead. Can burn through all 13 relatively painlessly if they don't keep coming back

Honestly, with the changes to how gender and rebirth works, I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t include Aran’gar and Osan’gar.

Main things to remove for me are

Bowl of Winds

Rand and the Sea Folk

Tylin raping Mat

the length of the Faile kidnap

a lot of the breaking of the tower 

the circus

I would prefer Mat not to end up with Tuon, as it still didn’t feel earned in the books 

Forsaken constantly being resurrected, just leave it at Moridin.

Anything to do with succession and Morgase. For the tv show, you may as well just actually kill Morgase. 
 

For the sake of a tv series a lot of the superfluous stuff, outside of Rand’s journey specifically will likely have to be cut. Once he is the dragon, it should be a 50% focus on him with 20% each on Mat and Perrin and 10% on Egwene.

My reason for thinking they get excluded (aside from the whole don't need them back and don't have time to explore it) is because it presents that kind of situation as both unnatural and a product of the Great Lord's will...stepping carefully, but I don't think that's a message they want to send.

To be fair that's not so much the message they're sending, it's just the message some people might hear.

Keep: Everything Verin, Uno having to watch his mouth, everything Aelfinn/Eelfinn, everything flashed backed in the Aeil waste/Rhuidean, Talmanes & Vanin.

 

Cut: Cadusuane, all the muddling about of troops leading up to Rand discovering Callandor's flaw, petty squabbling between main characters (e.g., Perrin/Faile, Elayne/Nyn/Egwene), Faile's capture by Shaido.

Honestly? That’s the message Jordan intended. He was pretty progressive for a mid 80s, 90s era guy, but our current understanding of gender as a spectrum instead of a binary wasn’t something on his radar yet. So you might as well just leave it out and not open that can of worms.

 It worries me what is going to happen when the DR is revealed. Because of the way they have done some things, when it is revealed I can hear it already "of course it is the pasty white guy hero" "why would we have ever thought anything else". In some ways they are setting themselves up to be bashed over it.

I don't think that will be a thing. It will be made clear by then that all 5 of the EF are very important.

And it's not really something they should worry about. Anyone who is upset Rand becomes the DR would have been upset if they had made it clear from the beginning.

Good list, but if they cut Mat vs. the brothers…man would we riot. Haha, I can’t even fathom it. Even optimists would lose their minds.

 

*Not saying you’re suggesting it to be cut, but even placing it in the keep list made me think for a split second they might not for whatever reason.*

This is an excellent list. I would add Hinderstrap to list under keep. That would make an epic episode.

I want to see the full unedited version of what happens when Egwene gets pulled into Gawyns dream. ? Then Gawyn can just die. Can’t stand that dude.
