My instincts say not to end this too quickly. Regardless of Amega's alignment, hammering early gives scum an advantage by giving him less time to talk--either as town to give opinions that can inform us in coming days, or as scum to interact with people and possibly give clues as to who his partner is. Obviously since I think he's scum I'm looking more for the second situation

You say I could have better reasoning for my vote, yet you don't seem to provide any reasoning for yours other than not liking the list?

What don't you like specifically? Is it because you and your scum buddy are both on the list and therefore you don't like it at all?

Ok so I definitely got where Darthe was coming from.  WIFOM killing is silly when there are strong vocal players alive, and Cory was never not dying unless AJ couldn't remain in QT and the remaining wolves were some combination of you, amega, and Arie.  The previous post that Darthe had called out reads really awkward because it's just blatantly wrong, but the older player base still thinks that way and you wouldn't be the first to drop a line like that and flip villa.  Saying you wanted to lynch amega to test whether Cory was killed for having good reads or for having bad ones just left a bad taste because he wasn't killed for either, but I don't think it's alignment indicative really.  /shrug

Wow my lack of sleep is starting to really hit me now that I have to think.  That took waaaaay too long to type.

He's spent more time telling us to remember his reads after he flips than actually making any kek

But time is always town's friend.

Is there anything that Shad has said you disagree with?

Honestly? Not much? His line of thinking is very similar to mine.

This is that thing that happened that was really awkward regarding Arie.

If you haven't addressed this yet (and you might have) can you clarify what exactly inclines you to read anyone as town in Mafia games in general?  You didn't trust the people who lynched a wolf D1 pretty much as a matter of policy, without really scrutinizing the actual interactions that took AJ down.  You didn't trust someone you apparently have been mindmelding with all game.  That's a tremendous amount of self-doubt and I'm not sure how you ever really form a POE with it as town.

That's interesting to me, you said you trusted Cory "THUS" you trust Shad. That implies that the main reason you trust Shad is because you trusted Cory and now you know Cory is town. This also implies you weren't sure about trusting Shad before Cory's flip.

However, now you are claiming that you don't disagree with pretty much anything he's said which means your trust in him is more directly linked to your own opinions and has nothing to do with Cory's flip.

Overall it feels like you are trying to hide in the shadow of other players.

And BG calling it out in a thorough, thoughtful way is a good look for him.

Doesn't make Arie a wolf, but I can see his gears spinning.  I need to remember to pay attention to how both of them followed through on this.

Considering there is no such thing as PR cover in this game and you're one of those people just outside of the POE who we're presently trending to lose to if scum, might be time to set aside the "holstering my thoughts" gig and lay things out as you see them as clearly as possible.

If you're a villager I'm confident it will show.  What I don't want is to lose to you for playing a "closed hand" card to dodge making reads, or to lose to your mislynch because people reevaluate late game and determine that for all your tonal purity you haven't really said much to show your reads are honest.

Ok Arie's post after that is fine.

I guess the thing that bugged me was the absence of analysis to accompany your mistrust of the lynch.

Like you're saying in that post that I reflected a lot of your own thoughts, and that's fine.  Maybe you trusted me before Cory died and your "I Cory's town ergo I trust Shad" post was just weirdly worded--you meant to say it strengthened the town read you already had, or something.  I can roll with that.

Had Cory done things you didn't trust?  Was there something fairly different about what he was doing?  I tend to think Cory and I play a similar game and he's just better at it.

I don't need you to answer that.  Let's focus on things that are relevant to the here and now.  But I'm pointing it out to show the sort of clarity you could be displaying that would really sure up my town read on you.  If you had laid out why you thought the lynch was a bus with reasons specific to this game rather than a generic you've seen wolves hard bus on D1 before, I would have a much broader grasp of what you're thinking.  If it was just a simple matter of paranoia trumping all good vibes, well, that's ok too.  But it can help a lot to walk out loud through the evidence and reach a conclusion as to what most likely happened even if you know full well you'll never trust your own conclusions.

It is probably 100% selective of when and where I'm posting. If I'm at wprk.. I'm on my phone and looking back is crap on my phone, so I make hasty posts (like the one of not having much thought analyzing your posts specifically.)

And like right now...

And I'd really like to get off the defense... so im going back to work and when I can look more closely at my top suspects.

I think you misunderstand me if you feel you're on the defensive though.

I'm just encouraging you to present your offense in a manner that will help me read you better.

Darthe actually looked perfectly fine on p34.

In a world where fewer players were being villagery I don't think I'd be concerned with him up to that point.

Pretty much what I was thinking you were thinking when you called her out.

You know the bold are contradictory right?  Work this for a second, imagine that I'm a townie reading this.  It's internally inconsistent, which gives me the impression that you either don't believe your case or (optimistically) you simply aren't paying that much attention to the house of cards you're stacking to try and justify this train you're working to make.  It's just not very compelling to me, so I'm left to figure out whether that's you being a wolf it you tunneling.

Hell, I'm not even going to aggress on the multiple little accusations in the non-bold, this should be enough that if you're town I see a response to it.

Meh at this post though.

I mean it's possible that you were just heavily displaced from the thread state, but amega was the consensus if nothing else shakes out lynch this going into the phase.  She could have just been trying to use her vote productively instead of do nothing for 48 hours.

I don´t think anyone has commented on this post. Noone but me feels this way about BG?

iirc a number of people instantly started shouting "hard bus!" after AJ flipped scum, and all of them were people sufficiently displaced from this style of Mafia to either believe it or believe they can sell it.

I'm not concerned with the fact that he went there generically, though it stands that if the wolves are in Darthe/BG/Amega they had to go somewhere to dig themselves out.

It's a lot more important to assess how people approached that suspicion, and to agree or disagree with you on that I would have to.... .... rip ISO :(

I'll get there, he's on my mind as the first person to try to reread when I'm caught up anyway.

FWIW: I occasionally throw out barbs like this because some people respond poorly to it. It provides me with a reaction barometer. Darthe avoided giving a decent reason for his vote, I poked the bear a few times and he got testy and tried redirecting back on me without ever answering the question.

eeeeeeee if you try that on me expect snark and/or suspicion as either alignment.

And so through careful analysis BG discovered that when you're rude to people they won't work with you.

Truly a compelling argument you have there.

ok I'm current and really don't want to put in any more work tonight

I'll try to dig back to the D1 post-flip stuff

I think this irked me right at the beginning, I know it's an open game setup game which means trying to soft claim a type of character in a way that both comes off at a joke, but at the same time is completely ambiguous as far as alignment is concerned. It just was weird to me. I decided to look back at all AJ's posts to bring a triumphant reasoning to my first impressions....

I don't know if I believe this.

Boo if you want to distance you have to call out something that's actually game relevant about your partner and then walk it back, not Lion King jokes.
