Also, I'm so not used to everyone doing a million small individual posts. It used to be pretty much all walls of text back and forth lol. This is much easier to read, but much harder to go back and find what I'm looking for.

i think he should be lynched just for claiming wolf like he did. And yes im aware nyn did the same sort of post the difference is style Shad is tricky and somewhat arrogant about mafia he is the type that will be a wolf and claim it playing on people to not believe anyone would do this.

This is interesting in light of the red read on Cuth (and therefore on nyn)

 

That she apparently DID do it as scum, and dice is trying to talk it down.

 

If Cuth does indeed flip scum, gonna take a good look at dice.

Shad talked a lot about how he voted lzm over Darthe. I found it odd that he seemed to be ignoring Alf in this. Made me think he was trying to not talk about him, which made me think they are teammates.

 

But now I have to disregard that, and I know it to be untrue.

@Shad why didn't you discuss Alf when talking about EoD?

I'm not going to ISO myself but if I didn't talk about your slot with much detail near EoD it's because there was nothing to add. Alf hadn't posted in game-ages.

Not near EoD. After it, when discussing your switch to LZM. I noticed you talked about Darthe and LZM, but not the 3rd train Alf, which caught my attention.

 

If I had subbed in as anyone else, I would have voted you for it. But now I'm just trying to understand.

 

His lack of content combined with the content itself was the major reason to scum read him IIRC (I did read along during D1)

@ShantiYou mention how you can tell Tigs is town because she overcompensates as scum. I don't recall you talking about this last game, so it strikes me as odd to mention it now.

P+C was Shanti's first game so she'd have no baseline at that point in time?

With that logic she still doesn't. Tigs was scum. How does that explain her knowing tigs' town game vs scum?

 

Insight suggests knowledge of playstyles before she started playing. Insight that she didn't use last game.

Dropping this. Your reason to switch was to avoid rand. Being Alf was the one you were already voting, you had to decide between Darthe and LZM (ergo that's what you discussed)

I can understand all of that, I'm just stating that a town person did for, you were the hammer on said town person, and it just as easily could be turned around and said that you switched from Alf to LZM or even Darthe id you went that route TO prevent his lynch because many didn't vote and anyone could have come in with a last minute vote to lynch him.

 

I will admit, your fighting me is making you look better. I do understand the logic you're speaking. Just giving my pov. I didn't expect to be able to talk this much tbh, so I wanted to at least get a list and some thoughts out before I had to go silent.

FYI I have miscleared him in the past for exactly this.

[maj] means majority i.e. hammer vote. Pretty sure that doesn't need further explanation.

 

[-ev for town/scum] means negative effort value i.e. detrimental for mentioned side's chances of winning.

Re: EoD

 

The idea that has been setting in on DM lately that D1 is a crap shoot is garbage and for the sake of my win % villagers need to start understanding that it's garbage.

 

We lynch wolves on D1 here.

 

Often. Extremely often. I really piss people off by posting the stats of how often we lynch wolves on D1 here.

 

A three way tie with 2 votes each at EoD is as good as a concession. You will never have a phase where all wolves are alive and less willing to bus than D1. If you actually string people up, you can study the reaction patterns, look for people tossing out excuses to move the train, weak justification for counterwagons, weak justification to jump on board an easy lynch, etc. If you successfully hunt villagers, you can force wolves into making awkward concessions that stand out for lack of reasoning. People talk about needing flips to have information to work with. No. D1 is the information phase, if you use it appropriately.

 

What on earth does a 3 way tie of 2 votes buy you? A 3 scum team literally has 100% control of that lynch. No one gets properly cleared if a wolf dies because you know for a fact that they were mechanically capable of preventing it. Everyone looks bad if a villager dies. It's a conceded phase.

 

I thought LZM had a better chance of flipping scum than Darthe by a hair, so I took a stand and locked in a proper lynch. And guess what? If he flipped scum then BFG and Cass and Dice and everyone else who knows me would tell you I am never a wolf in this game and they would be right. A villager's first job is to do the most they can to prove they are a villager. People not voting and complacently letting it randomize between three players are basically saying "I think I'll just try to blend in with the wolves this phase."

I have issues with this paragraph.

 

1. Somebody getting cleared from a wolf kill is silver lining. It's a wolf kill. It's good in its own right. Why downplay that?

 

2. You seem to be suggesting that a mislynch from rand is worse than a mislynch from top train. I very much disagree. LZM had the same mindset last game that rand is bad. There is nothing bad about rand, especially if it's minutes to DL and there isn't a clear choice.

 

It's better that you voted for someone who flipped town instead of letting it fall on potentially scum? Granted this specific example all trains were town, but you either didn't know that(town) or wouldn't care(scum).
