So far Shanti is coming off as she has in her other 2 games, which is town. But she also knows that she comes across very town, as people tell her this regularly.

 

How does Shanti's awareness that people read her town early serve as a cautionary note to you reading her town early? 

 

 

Because when people are aware that they come across as town, they tend to try to stick to whatever behavior is making people think they are town. She is new, so maybe she would have a scum tell, but I personally read her as a new player with great instincts, and that would include being able to hide behind her growing strong town persona. For now I have her pretty strongly in the town pile.

I took the first as a gut read, which isn't the same as noting behavioral parallels, but fair enough.

 

I kind of gather you're not much of a gut player anyway? so that might have just been me reading it wrong.

These are VERY light and general reads, nothing in depth. It's my bed time.

 

1. Shad - Good activity so far, prodding questions to keep people talking, seems townie.
2. Darthe - Where you at? You did this last game and were scum... >.>
3. Shanti - So far I'm getting town, for above stated reason.
4. Tigraine - YOU SCARE ME! I don't see anything that says you're not mafia...
5. LedZepMan - Seems consistent with the last game so far, which is town.
6. DreadPirateRoberts - Need more to read
7. Adella - Clearly town imho
8. CuthaNyn (Cuth+Nyn) - Cuth is feeling town to me, but not much from Nyn yet
9. Alfred Jodocus - Need more to read
10. Killanos (Killa+Kronos) - So far Killa reminds me of Shanti, and I'm actually having a hard time telling their posts apart without having to go back and check who said what.
11. BFG - Came out pretty strong with probing questions in all directions, which I'm learning is generally a town thing to do.
12. Cass - Town so far, seems consistent with other couple of games we have played.
13. Dice - I am unsure on this, because I tend to read Dice as scummy no matter what (even in 2 broke girls where I was scum)

I try to only say things if something specifically that was said stands out. I actually probably need to follow my guy more and logic a teensy bit less, cause I recently played a game on FB where I had scum pegged on D2 and talked myself out of it... *cough* Tigs! *cough*

She's fooled me a time or two by just faking asking a lot of questions and being generally reasonable, and in general I think she's probably got a lot in common with me in terms of scum tells--namely she can sound good in any given instant but will taper off once she's achieved a comfortable position vs continually staying on the gas.

 

But in this case it's more just that we've played a lot of games together and I doubt she's going to have a go at me early as a wolf when she can just as easily pocket me for a phase or two without drawing my attention.  It's been talked about in post-games often enough to be something she's aware of, but in general I think we both ascribe to a path of least resistance approach to scumming, i.e. don't take a risk that can backfire when you can skate by just fine under the radar and kill the people who will cause trouble for you later in the game.

I can see what you saying here Shad. she was like that in 2 broke girls but with the gas turned way up until she was killed. So really it would be to early to tell for either of you for sure though.
