@Eldrick, you mentioned that DPR tunnelled on you the last game you played together. How many games ago was that? And are you reading him the same way this game as he was the last one?

It wasn't that long ago. ~3 games ago.

There are similarities to this game, but not strong ones. And tunnel is a bit harsh as well. He had a scum read stuck on me that game, but he also looked at other players. And he was town and drew enough suspicion to be the D1 lynch. I was actually against the lynch then, and don't remember why. I'm gonna go look it up.

I think I just explained it?

I've played with him before. I've played with multiple different versions of him on my homesite. When he finally started reacting to me pushing on him it read to me as emotional (not going to use the other description that comes to mind, because I'm trying to be nice) rather than manipulative. It's what I expect from town Darthe. I'd expect him to be more smooth and manipulative as scum darthe. I've never played with scum darthe before, but it fits with my town experience with him and advice I've gotten from other players about how to differentiate his town from scum play.

You did just explain it. That was after I asked, though. :P

I've caught Darthe twice now because of his tunneling. He gets locked on someone and just doesn't listen to reason.

Last game he managed to get away with it because of a stellar late game move, but I had him figured out for a good portion of the game (Incidentally, I think that's why he wasn't surprised I suspected him again this game)

I'm gonna take a stab at trying to explain why Cuth's unvote was confusing for me, and why it differs from my own.

Cuth's vote was for the same reason as mine. Because of liz's comment.

I have to speculate on why he unvoted, because he didn't answer me (or if he did I missed it). My speculation is that he unvoted because Liz asked him to step back and reconsider. He did so and also asked seph to (who immediately complied)

I didn't get the feeling that he suddenly thought Lizclov was town. I felt like he still suspected them, but didn't want a speed lynch. But his suspicion of them has seemed to vanish.

My reason for unvoting was because I felt like that particular post was getting way too much attention. When something like that happens, it tends to be on town. And is usually scum driven too. I don't have a super confident town read on Lizclov, but I feel like there's a good chance they are.

I don't think Seph unvoted us.

But I did get the sense that Cuth's unvote was based on a progressive read. He responded to the post that MrsClov posted from my old game and said that he hated it but he could see that I had played a similar tactic before as town.

Regarding the bold: I think we're on the same wavelength for it. Tinker and NotBob were two we were really considering, and we've decided to vote NotBob.

Tinker because he doesn't really seem to be commenting on anything and just dropping his vote on the leading wagon without saying much of anything really rubbed us the wrong way, and would have regardless of who had been the leading vote at the time.

NotBob because He seemed to just be following the easier trends in Me/Liz or Eldrick but wasn't really engaging the thread. It's been little beyond "Good vote" "scum post", etc.

Honestly, I feel like votes on Darthe and Eldrick are misguided. I can't say as much about votes on LizClov, but they are proving difficult to figure out this game.

I think it might be helpful to explain how I'm looking at things:

Scumhunting is the way Townies win.

Tone reading, lock clearing and deep meta comparisons are basically a waste of time.

Scumhunting consists of, among other things, spotting players who present circular arguments, determining when "logic" is self serving and connecting the dots where alliances are forming.

So far I have Eldrick down for ignoring common sense logic and presenting circular arguments.

Kizzy Clov is guilty of self serving, presenting circular arguments and going into full-tilt panic mode, despite the vote count against them never going to L-1 (which is where the pressure point is, imo).

Both slots are working what I see as an alliance.

Both slots seem the obvious choices to lynch. I have thoughts on some other players, but none this defined.

It's that simple.

Kizzy Clov is my choice to lynch today and Eldrick is on my radar to sweat tomorrow.

my feel from the above is that he could be

and this was my first impression but it's really not very strong at all

it felt like he was building up to the vote

he was agreeing with the people voting clov but also criticizing them

i dunno

it felt like he was putting some pressure on them but leaving a possible out

the more i think about it the less convinced i am

at the time it felt like working around to a vote there which he did end up doing with not a huge progression in between on his doubts about the wagon

Wow, the groupthink in this thread is ridiculous. None of you see it as a little odd that everyone seems to be jumping up and down saying that what Liz and I have done are scummy? I find it hard to believe that you are all town and really truly can't see the problem with everyone but Liz and I saying that what we've said is scummy. Definitely leaning town on Seph and Cuth right now, but I'm questioning some of you who have come, in this morning and are so easily going with the general consensus of the thread. Incredibly concerned that Tinker doesn't seem to think there's anything of value in the thread right now.

Cliff note version, make of it what you will: Liz and I placed a joke vote on Dice and it blew up out of control many of the conversations we've had with people made them start going after us for being scum (we're not) so we've been on the defense all day phase. Liz was trying to expand everyone's thoughts and ask people to open their minds and really think about it and asked who would our scum partners be. So now that's apparently the scummiest thing ever. I spent a large chunk of last night trying to reason with those who were on because they were expecting us to find scum, when it's kind of hard to get things done when you're constantly having to defend yourself. Cuth, Seph, and Eldrick gave us a courtesy unvote, we unvoted Dice. Came back this morning to people who hadn't been around a ton yesterday agreeing that we're scummy. It just seems odd that no one has a problem with a large part of the game thinking this is scummy. It's like they're just going after the easiest thing to lynch in the thread.

Now that I'm caught up I'd say it was poorly played...don't see scum making this play...unless you're the type to wag it in our face. Ugh. Are you that type? I don't hate it, but to be fair, WIFI did post a temporary reads list at least when she got around page 14. I forget what post it was exactly. A follow up post regarding thoughts would have been nice though.

you keep commenting on old material without addressing any recent developments. It's easy to keep going "post 309 post 309 post 309" and call it a day.

But I've already explained why that argument no longer holds water because I've provided proof that I have used a similar tactic successfully in a previous game here on DM. But you don't want to address that, because that would force you to have to change your narrative.

You can't say "town would never say this" because I've proven that I've said it as town. Whether you think its a good tactic or not it's irrelevant to our alignment.

You can keep saying "they're being self-serving and defending themselves and they haven't done anything" but you won't answer my question about what you expect us to do as town when we're being tunneled on.

Eldrick, Seph and Cuth have at least engaged us, asked us to clarify, they've actually tried to figure out our alignment. You've done none of this. Neither have I yet seen you explore any other leads. And I'm going to challenge you to show what you've done other than throw "post #309" in my face. We were in the thread starting conversations and following up on things when you were just popping in to vote Eldrick early on some flimsy basis (and you never responded to my question about what you meant by that accusation, which I asked by the way because Eldrick mentioned that you had tunneled on him when he was town in a previous game, and I foolishly expect people to learn their lessons from past experiences).

You're either playing lazy scum or lazy town. But don't expect me not to call you out of it.

But I'm going to try not to respond to your posts as I'm catching up anymore because they're just full of repetitive nonsense. I've never played with you before, but from what I've heard you are not a new player, so it's not like you have the "newb" excuse. Hopefully it gets better in the next 10 pages, but I'm not holding out much hope at this point.

The fact that you've done this before as town doesn't really absolve the actions in this game. Outcomes do not dictate strategy, especially in a new arena. The comment drew votes and attention. I'm not convinced until the flip but you have really offered little alternatives. My WTL is LizClov, Eldrick and Darthe.

Funny thing about his case. He doesn't seem to have one. When I looked at his ISO the first time, I was looking at each post individually. Looking at it IRT his view on Lizclov...there's no progression.

He goes from not liking their famous post, but not finding it scummy, to sheeping DPR, to having them in his WTL.
