Forbes.com profiles Robert Jordan (and fans)

Forbes.com has published an article on their website which profiles Robert Jordan, his illness, and the outstanding support that his fans have shown. I've had experts trying to recover the files. Doens't seem like it's going to happen. We're going to try and release 23 early to quench your cravings! I'm so SORRY!!!   [Editor's Note: Jayson has been eaten by Trollocs. Authorities do not believe the incident is related. But don't worry, he has been resurrected by the Dark O

A Small Addition

I'm back a little sooner than usual this time, because I realized that I left off something very important when I was advising some guys dealing with illness. Maybe the most important thing of all. Laugh. Make her laugh. Make him laugh. Make yourself laugh. Keeping your spirits up has a really great effect, believe me. There are lots of situations where it's hard to find something to laugh at, but in most situations where you can grumble, you can find a laugh in there if you look at it a

A Little Update

Well, I've been offline for a while, but I thought you had the news pretty well from Wilson, plus I needed to rest up, frankly, having had a stretch of in the hospital, then out of the hospital, in and then out, in again, and this time out on a Saturday so I could get on a plane on Sunday, have my tests done at the Mayo on Monday, talk with the doctors on Tuesday, then drive to Minneapolis to speak at Mike Ford's Memorial service. Frankly, I got home in some ways stronger than when I left, but

FAQ Down for a moment

Okay, I've been playing with this for a little while, testing and retesting.   I've brought the FAQ down for the next 20 minutes or so. When it comes back up, it will actually work!   All of the content of the FAQ will still be there when it returns, but some stuff, such as page views, may be gone.   Updates when it returns.   [update: The FAQ is back up, and should now be working. Thanks for your patience.]

Site Maintenance

Tonight I will be doing a forum upgrade to make sure we're running the most current version of the forum software. Also, I am adding several new features aimed at preventing, locating and deleting spam.   The forums will be locked later tonight for about an hour for all non-Admin members while I migrate all of the content. Once the forums come back online, all of the posts, private messages and usernames will still work fine, nothing will be lost. I am only locking the forums to ensure that no

Hi, guys. I was going to put up a regular post here today, but that is going to have to wait a few days. You see, Mike Ford died last night. To you, he was John M. Ford, two-time winner of the World Fantasy Award, including for Winter Solstice Camelot Station, the only poem ever to win the short fiction award. Or maybe you're a Star Trek Fan and remember his Star Trek novels, such as How Much for the Just Planet? (the only flat-out comedy among all the Trek novels, I think) or The Final Refl

Thank you to everyone who visits and contributes to the site. Thank you to the dedicated individuals who have been coming here for years and have stuck around even when things get dramatic or tiresome. Thank you to Tor Books, and all the other vendors who
