First of all, thank you to everyone who has repsonded to the news and blog posts in regards to Robert Jordan's announcement about his Amyloidosis diagnosis. It just proves that his readership is full of caring individuals.
I've spoken a little more with RJ about what's going on. Here's what he said:
We leave for the Mayo in Rochester on 1 April, to make for an easy trip. My first appointment, for some testing, isn't until [a few days later]. I'll be there for 6 to 8 weeks, dependin
Robert Jordan wrote a letter to Locus Magazine yesterday stating that he has been diagnosed with amyloidosis and will begin treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. We don't think it would be appropriate to elaborate or speculate at this time, but please read his letter.
As we get more news, we will post it here.

Well, guys, the letter in Locus is indeed from me. I had hoped to be a little more focused with this and get a post up here before anything came out in Locus, or anywhere else public, so you would get it first, but I flat forgot that Charles has his on-line version of Locus now, too. Sorry about that.
Don't get too upset, guys. Worse comes to worst, I will finish A Memory of Light, so the main story arc, at least, will be completed. And frankly, as I said, I intend to beat this thing. A

Well, somehow, we survived the KoD rush. Our traffic was higher than ever and our poor, under-powered server was beat to death. But we survived and had no downtime. (Everyone please give the server a gentle pat and thank it.)
Because all of you were kind enough to purchase your copies of KoD through our links, and because you were kind enough to visit our sponsors by clicking on their banners, we have a little cash lying around and its time to do a server upgrade. Here's the plan as of r
Sorry about the long stretch without a post, guys, but things were a little hectic here for a time. That has a tendency to happen, especially around the Holidays.
I've noticed here and there that some of you have caught errors -- sometimes mine, sometimes printers' errors -- and commented on them. When you do that, would you please give the chapter where you found the error and also the edition -- American, British, hardcover, trade paperback etc -- as well as the title, and the printing if

First off, thanks to NaClH2O and to Anonymous. I didn't know that Pentangle had gone on beyond their first two albums. I remember walking down the corridor in my hooch in Nam and hearing music coming from a doorway that made me duck in and ask who it was. The next time I could get by the Air Force PX, I picked up Pentangle, and later the second album. After that, I heard nothing, so I suppose I simply assumed they had vanished like so many other musicians. They're like writers, you know. I can't
Today marks the first day of our 13 Days of Christmas. Yes, I know that the "normal" 12 Days of Christmas start on Dec. 25th, but we don't do things like every one else.
Every day between now and Christmas we'll post a new desktop picture featuring one of the original 13 Forsaken. They make great desktop images.
The images were created by the Dabel Brothers, the company which produces the New Spring graphic novel. A special thanks to them for allowing us to be the exclusive provide
During Jordan's recent US tour, he made time to chat with Fast Forward TV, a show dedicated to science fiction and fantasy reviews that airs in parts of Virginia and Maryland. He talks quite a bit about his experience writing the books, working on the New Spring graphic novels, and his blog that we host for him. He even manages to pronounce Jason's name correctly.
You can download the interview in either Quicktime or MP3 format by going to Fast Forward's website and navigating to the Dece
On Monday, December 12th, Dragonmount will launch a 13 day event called The 13 days of Christmas. Each day we'll release a little something special to help celebrate the holidays. What that "something" is will have to wait until Monday. You can RAFO. :)
Robert Jordan does have a hand in this feature, and this will be the exclusive location to get the content.
But please... don't expect TOO much. We won't be releasing early chapters from Book 12 or anything like that.

Note: this game is not yet created, and won't be for a while. There isn't anything to see yet. But the more programmers, modelers, artists, testers, and fans who voice their support at the link

Well, I've recovered from the tour, gotten a little work done on A Memory of Light, and I'm slowing down for the Thanksgiving descent of family on the house. And our descent on various other relatives. You know how it goes. So I thought I'd post a short one.
Thanks for the CD, Deadsy. I liked it. It seems very reminiscent of Pentangle at times, but then a lot of groups do. I saw an article somewhere or other that claimed Pentangle had more influence on the music that followed than the Beatle
