- The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan & Brandon Sanderson
I've experienced a lot of cool things when it comes to the Wheel of Time. But last night at the Sacramento book signing, something happened that was pretty surreal for me, which I guess is saying something.
As the signing itself began, Harriet "insisted" that I sit at the table with her and Brandon and sign the dedication page for Towers of Midnight.
Let me let that sink in: Harriet asked me to sign copies of Towers of Midnight with her. So for the next 4 and a half hours I sat there and signed 350-400 copies of ToM. It was such an honor to be asked to do that. Part of me still isn't completely comfortable signing RJ's books, but both Harriet and Brandon assured me that it was the right choice, and so I am deeply grateful.
There were some other nice perks too. Meeting 400+ fans was awesome, of course. Some of them had gifts for Brandon, and (shockingly) some had gifts for me. Take a look:
In 1996, a book called Barlowe's Guide to Fantasy was published. Amongst other neat things, it had an encyclopedia-like entry for Trollocs. I only saw the book once in stores, but couldn't afford it at the time due to my limited college funds. In the years since, I've regretted not stretching my money a little because I wasn't able to ever find that book again, or even remember the title.
Well last night, Bailey (a Tower Guard) brought her copy and showed it to me. When I explained how excited I was to actually see the book, she handed it to me and said I could keep it. I've since learned that the book is out of print, but used copies can be found. Here's a picture of the cover. Notice the trolloc in the upper right corner. Here's the link to Amazon, where you can generally find some inexpensive used copies if you're curious.
I also received a few packs of MAGIC cards, although not as many as Brandon did. The coolest ones I received were the custom cards that fan Mike P made for both Brandon and I. Take a look:
My favorite gift received last night though came from another Tower Guard, Joe. He told me that he lived in Japan for a while and thought I might like this shirt. It's simply amazing, and I'm flattered that he offered it to me:
Detail on the dragon embroidery:
I am so privileged to be a part of a community like this, and profoundly humbled that so many of you enjoy the things we do here at Dragonmount. I know the gifts above are just tokens of a larger appreciation, and that only makes me want to work harder to continue delivering quality content on our site.
Oh one more thing. I totally ran off this this poster after the event.

By Guest Wilson,
Many of you became very familiar with an almost-member of our family, The Armorer, USMC Colonel Greg Kitchens. Though a reserve officer, Greg felt the calling to return to active service and did that in 2008. He was subsequently deployed in support of our missions in the Middle East. I asked specifics and he gave me the old "I can tell you but..." line. When a Marine weapons instructor says that, you stop asking. I thought you all (yes I am from Charleston and I didn't say y'all), would like to hear that Greg is safely back on U.S. soil. I've included two of my favorite photos that he sent me during his time in the Sand Box. In one, Colonel Kitchens stands with a long-time friend and his hand-to-hand instructor, Sergeant Smith. The other picture shows our Armorer moving through the desert on a most unorthodox military conveyance. I hope that you will join me in welcoming Greg home and giving him a big thank you for his service. Well done Colonel! Ooh-rah!
P.S. Shameless Plug for JordanCon 2010
Last year Jennifer Liang organized and ran the first annual JordanCon. For those WOT fans who attended it turned out to be much more than a convention, it was in fact a family reunion. You've seen the photos and read the reports, so you know the impact it had on those who attended. The 2nd Con is schedule for 23-35 April 2010 near Atlanta. I'll be there with my forever-wife Janet and our daughter Marisa (she wears blue, but I swear she's a green). I look forward to reconnecting with old friends and making new ones. You can find out information about JordanCon 2010 here http://www.jordancon.com

I am really digging Dragonmount's new look. Well done, Jason! I hope to post more this year. I continue my belated re-read of the series.
Something has been bugging me...How many myrddraal are there running around Randland during The Great Hunt? Hope more information is revealed in the later books. How RJ used the use of rumor to spread information was really outstanding. The frustration the Amyrlin seat must have felt trying to decipher rumor from truth would be immense.

We all want to live in a democratic society. The value of this society is given by its citizens and their behavior. Students are a main part of a democratic society, being the ones who are preparing to be our leaders someday. Let’s see what values a democratic society wants to see in students.
Maybe one of the most important values is responsibility. You have to be responsible for your own actions and behaviors. Take care of the environment, resolve opinion differences in a nonviolent way and support your fellow citizens.
This actions starts with every one of us. Especially, with college students who have a great ambition and power to attract good actions and people.
From a democratic point of view, it’s crucial to respect every opinion. Although you agree with it or not, respect also the person that had it. Don’t judge only by the cover, try and find something good in every point of view.
We all know that the college life is full of conflicts and different opinions. Promote a respectful life among your colleagues and don’t judge ideas that come from a different culture.
We might sometimes be tempted to use non ethical ways to fulfill our dreams. In a democratic society are very much appreciated the moral and ethical ways of helping yourself and your loved ones.
This value should be grown starting with your college life, where you have many ways to cheat and get better grades. Treat like you would like to be treated and value the moral and ethical acts.
A democratic society encourages diversity among its citizens. It all goes with respect and tolerance. Especially if you’re a student, you most probably have some international colleagues that study with you. They have been raised in another culture and having different traditions.
If they have different points of view, it doesn’t mean they are necessarily bad. Be tolerant to your colleagues. You can surely learn something new from them.
Do Your Best
Set goals. Face challenges. Seek the truth. Try and accomplish something admirable. The worth of a goal lies in your actions to achieve that goal. Explore. Learn. You’re the future, so you should start being greater and greater. Be fair. This is how people in a democratic society should be.
It depends on all of us to work for a democratic society where equal rights and opinions are not a myth. All students have the power to change something and to come with fresh ideas that contribute to the growth of a democratic society. You can work at transforming an utopia into reality!
Author Bio: Jack Willson studies English Literature. His hobbies are reading historical books and skiing. He also works for a company that offers dissertation proofreading services to all college students in need.

In honour of Remembrance Day, the Green Ajah will be commemorating warriors, both our resident DM warriors and those abroad in the world.
But of course, a warrior is not merely a soldier. A warrior fights for his people, but he also fights for himself. Wars are fought on the battlefield as well as in the mind and for justice. So we will be discussing topics not only dealing with martial experiences but also those who fight or have fought for others, or who are fighting their own internal troubles.
We hope you will join us and share your experiences, whether of what you have fought for or the warriors who fought and changed your life. Activities will run between November 5 to November 11.

Hello, I am Nyx. Well, that is my wolf name. Sorry but I refuse to leak out my actual name, so just call me that for now... Anyway I realized I was a demon wolfkin is when I started drawing the demon symbol on my hand and I started to howl at random times during the night. I got Nyx Eclipse for my name because, first, I love solar eclipses. They happen so fast for me. And so I made the connection that I am a fast runner, and solar eclipses are fast, so I got Eclipse for my last name. For Nyx, if you add the ``O`` in front it is Onyx. And in Spanish, which I am half Spanish, Onyx in English means Onix in Spanish. And that is my car's name.
That is it. I guess. Thanks for reading this if you did!

Corporate websites have become a mandatory need for every business, irrespective of its size and industry niche they belong. Still business executives from old school of thought overlook the importance of creating company website. Despite possessing all the experience, somehow they overlook the importance of web design in marketing and branding. They mistakenly assume that they can target their audience only relying over the traditional and physical marketing tactics. In reality, ignoring to develop a business website can ruin effectiveness of their marketing campaigns.
Below I am sharing few points to show importance of designing website to run successful marketing campaigns.
When it comes to estimating credibility of any business, 75% of users prefer to check corporate website instead of visiting brick & mortar websites. To portray a reliable and credible image, enterprises should focus to develop a good looking functional website with simple navigation. If design of website is user friendly and facilitate visitors to reach their destinations in minimum clicks, will significantly increase their stay on a website and eventually end up becoming the customer. In contrast to that if a company website is experiencing high bounce rate and lose customers, it has to think about revamping its business website. Number of professional web designers and California web development companies are offering complete website deigning and revamping services. They ensure that every business website they design must convey right message to it audience and help it to develop a legitimate image in the industry.
Web design can directly impact total number of conversions. If current lay out of your website fails to deliver expected number of business leads even after running paid advertisement campaigns, simply change the design elements to escalate conversions. Even small rise in conversion can give you an edge over your competitors. When you make more profits you can purchase more ads to further market your brand.

SEASON 2, EPISODE 4 - "GARDEN OF BONES"
- Harrenhal is on the map!
- And Qarth! (without any superfluous U's)
- Thunder! Rain! Horses! And Lannister soldiers, chattering about who are the best fighters in the realm...
- "Loras Tyrell... how good could he be? He's been stabbing Renly Baratheon for years, and Renly ain't dead!" >.>
- Horses are nervous... maybe that means something? Hmmmmmm?
- Tension..... mounting......
- Hahaha, he passed gas, it's hilaaaaaaaarious OH CRAP IT'S A GIANT WOLF ABOUT TO EAT YOUR FACE
- THE KING IN THE NORTH!
- Mmm, corpses!
- Roose Bolton, are you suggesting feeding the corpses to the prisoners? >.> OK probably not.
- "In my family we say 'a naked man has few secrets... a flayed man none.'" Your family, sir, are a bunch of psychopaths. Just sayin'.
- "My father outlawed flaying in the North." "We're not in the North." >.> SO IT'S OKAY THEN?
- Aaaaaand it's Talisa. *little sigh about show changes*
- I'd rather be dead of gangrene than live a cripple! *thumbs up*
- Robb getting into an argument about the ethics of war... and is clearly impressed with the pretty medic.
- The choice to replace Jeyne Westerling with Talisa Maegyr of Volantis is one of those things that I can kind of understand from a show perspective, although it's another reason I will always prefer the books. Making Robb's love interest a foreign woman he meets on the battlefield caring impartially for injured soldiers removes the extra layer of intrigue associated with having her be the member of a Westerosi family sworn to the Lannisters, so it's simpler and takes less time. It also gives the show version less depth and feels dumbed down, so there's that.
- All these people standing around in the throne room watching Joffrey point a crossbow at Sansa... I mean, I get that he's the king and it's extremely dangerous to cross him, but you'd hope that they'd at least be upset by what's happening here.
- "My mother insists on keeping you alive." And if that's the only reason why he's not willing to murder her in open court, I guess everyone in that room should be terrified for the future.
- How is stripping Sansa naked and beating her up in front of the royal court going to send Robb a message, exactly?
- SAVED BY THE TYRION
- "The King can do as he likes!" "The Mad King did what he liked. Has your uncle Jaime ever told you what happened to him?" Point to Tyrion!
- "Bronn, the next time Ser Meryn speaks, kill him. THAT was a threat. See the difference?" ILU TYRION. WHY ARE YOU SO FULL OF AWESOME?
- Tyrion is kind to you, Sansa. #shippingit
- Yeah. We totally believe that Joffrey is your one true love. Totally.
- Bronn and Tyrion talking about whether getting Joffrey laid will make him less of a jerk... yeah, no.
- Joffrey looking like he doesn't have any idea what to do with these two prostitutes in his bedroom...
- And then we get to see how his sick little mind works.
- Sadism and voyeurism, check.
- Roz is all "sorry about this, hon, but he's going to kill us both if I don't do what he wants...."
- Yeah, ladies, he is not afraid use that crossbow.
- That's an... interesting sound effect based segue, with the smacking sound of whatever disturbing thing Roz was doing with that antlered cudgel leading into the whinny of a horse.
- Heyyyyyyy, it's Littlefinger. Creepin'. Like you do.
- "I don't like you, Lord Baelish. I don't like your face. I don't like the words that come oozing out of your mouth. I don't want you in my tent one moment more than necessary." Don't be afraid to tell us how you really feel, Renly.
- Ya know, this little conversation with Renly was not at all part of the plan. But Littlefinger will take any opportunity to do what's best for Littlefinger, so there's that.
- Slimy Littlefinger throwing little slimy insinuations about Margaery and Renly's marriage. Not that he's wrong...
- Margaery's all "Yo, single guy who knows nothing about married life. Keep your nose out of my business."
- Dothraki on a horse! Not his horse, even!
- Who's this guy supposed to be again? Kovarro? Guess since Rakharo left there's just nobody memorable in Dany's khalasar.
- Heeeeey, let's go to Qarth! They totally want you there!
- The desert around their walls is called "the Garden of Bones"... Sounds totally welcoming to me
- Harrenhal! It's biiiiiiiiig! And melted stone towers! Good job, show!
- "What's that smell?" "Dead people." Arya so matter of fact. I love her.
- Such a lovely ruin. >.>
- Aaaaaaaand torturing prisoners. This is going to be FUN!
- A rainy night in an open, muddy cell.... and Arya can't sleep so she decides to "pray".
- Joffrey. Cersei. Ilyn Payne. The Hound.
- "You may have heard false reports." Ha! Nice try.
- Dude. You just betrayed her husband and got him killed. She's just told you she knows about your part in it. She's clearly angry with you and grieving. Why on earth do you think it's a good idea to bring up "I love you maybe it's fate" right now? You're better than this!
- Yeahhhh, she pulled knife on you. Time to back. away. slowly.
- Mehhhh he's pushing your buttons, Cat. He doesn't have Arya.
- *sigh* Yeah, Tyrion actually would offer this in good faith - except that he wouldn't be able to produce Arya along with Sansa... and by the time Jaime gets back to King's Landing, it's no longer Tyrion you're bargaining with.
- Catelyn realizing Littlefinger has brought her Ned's remains....
- Dude. Read the body language. Just stop talking.
- Wake up, Arya!
- Oh look, it's the RecastMountain! It's like "this season we need a super tall guy who can actually act instead of just looking fierce cutting the head off a horse... better find a new actor!"
- LOL @ the moment where Hot Pie realizes that staring directly at the Mountain while he's picking a torture victim didn't actually work for that other guy this time.
- The Mysterious Brotherhood...
- Oh now that's gotta be uncomfortable.
- "That's better. You've been very helpful." And we have no intention of stopping.
- Another rainy night in the Harrenhal accomodations... and Arya's praying again.
- Joffrey. Cersei. Ilyn Payne. The Hound.
- Convenient interruption to insert a prisoner using Polliver's name for no reason whatsoever ... then Arya resumes her death list.
- Polliver. The Mountain.
- Ooh, looky, a parley!
- Stannis, Melisandre and Davos facing off with Renly, Loras and Catelyn.
- Renly jabbing at Stannis' sudden interest in religion... *snerk*
- "You should kneel before your brother. He is the Lord's chosen, born amidst salt and smoke." "Born amidst salt and smoke? Is he a ham?"
- You know, I really do miss the little book detail about Renly offering Stannis a peach, and how it haunts Stannis later on. It's just a tiny thing, but that's one that would have made me happy for them to include.
- "If you were sons of mine, I would knock your heads together and lock you into a bedchamber until you remembered you were brothers." *snerk* Of course, when one of your sons has a shadowbinder for a girlfriend and she's about to give birth to a shadow demon to murder the other, this may not work as well as you'd hope.
- Stannis has a good point that Ned supported his claim. NED would have wanted Cat and Robb to throw in with Stannis, to be sure... but then, Ned's rigid adherence to honor got him murdered, so there's that.
- "The Iron Throne is mine by right. All those that deny that are my foes." "The whole realm denies it, from Dorne to the Wall. Old men deny it with their death rattle and unborn children deny it in their mother's wombs. No one wants you for their king." Now that would be a good place for a *mic drop*
- Whelp. Just so you know, Renly... That's no empty threat.
- And heeeeeeere we are at Qarth!
- "If you heard a Dothraki horde was approaching your city, you might do the same, Khaleesi." *Dany looks around at her group of stragglers* "Horde?"
- I just had to snerk when Dany starts her official "i'mma introduce myself with all my titles and make you realize how important I am" and she gets interrupted by the smarmy Qartheen guy from the Spicers Guild.
- "My name is quite long and quite impossible for foreigners to pronounce." Yeah. Probably a good move. >.<
- Dany mispronouncing "QUARTH" makes zero sense. She JUST heard it said. She's ONLY heard it said. It's not like she's reading it off a script and she isn't sure of how the Q sound works.
- Yeah no, not gonna pull out my baby dragons on command. Let me in first.
- jerk jerk jerk jerk jerk
- Nope, Daenerys is not gonna be careful. FIRE AND BLOOD BABY
- Heyyyyyy, it is Xaro Xhoan Daxos - which we know because Smarmy Spicer Dude just called you by your full name for NO REASON AT ALL.
- Also, the Television Without Pity forums immediately dubbed him "Ducksauce".
- Ducksauce being all "Nah, dude. I have plans. Let her in."
- You invoke what? >.>
- Prisoners waiting around for their daily torture session...
- OH CRAP, THEY PICKED GENDRY
- "Is there gold in the village?" What village? How do you expect him to know?
- Iiiiiiiit's the rat in the bucket and not good not good not OH CRAP it's TYWIN. Um. Still not good.
- Well, at least he saved Gendry's life.
- Arya trying to steal her sword back
- And Tywin Lannister is the ONLY one who can recognize that Arya is a girl.
- I completely get behind the show reasons to simplify this storyline - not that I think the book version is unnecessarily complex, it just doesn't bother me as much that they streamlined the Arya Riverlands Chaos and the Harrenhal transfers of power. Plus we get Arya and Tywin scenes, which are actually pretty awesome.
- Lancel knocking on Tyrion's door at oh-dark-30...
- What time is the Hour of the Wolf supposed to be, anyway?
- I love that Tyrion manages to blackmail Lancel based on figuring out that Cersei's sleeping with him *hi5*
- "mmm, lavender oil..." "I am a knight!" "An anointed knight, yes..." *snerk*
- Did you ever think of what King Joffrey will do when he finds out? How about what Jaime will do when HE finds out, eh?
- "It's not my fault!" "Did she take you against your will?" ROFL
- Heheheheheheh.... now you're trapped, Lancel. *nodnod*
- Lancel's all "after all that, you're just going to release Pycelle? REALLY?"
- "I could swear that I had not harmed a single hair on his head, but that would not strictly speaking be true." *snerk*
- Creepy stag head!
- Oh wait, it's the prow of a ship. OK.
- Davos! and Stannis! And backstory!
- Plus, pedantic Stannis is hilarious. "Fewer."
- "You were a hero and a smuggler." Davos is Han Solo. *nodnod*
- Again, understandable plot simplification, combining Davos smuggling Melisandre into Storm's End to birth a shadow baby with the shadow assassin killing Renly. It's streamlined, it gets the point across, and it doesn't really bug me.
- "If half an onion is black with rot, it's a rotten onion." Melisandre prefers wasting edible food, apparently.
- "A man is good or he is evil." Except that your author delights in shades of gray. -_-
- "You want to see me naked. And you will." Well that wasn't what he was expecting to happen tonight.
- Oh hey, WHERE DID THAT BABY BUMP COME FROM ALL OF A SUDDEN?
- And now you're in labor? WHAAAAAAAAT?
- Davos is all "don't you even ask me to help deliver that baby... thing....."
- eeeeeeeeeeeeeeYIKES that is creeptastic!
- Well THAT can't be good.

Every time when someone extracts information from an external source citation is necessary. Citation means to give credit to someone for their creative and intellectual work that has been utilized to support the research. It helps the writer to show the reader that proper research has been performed by listing sources that were used to get the information. The citation contains all the information that are necessary to track down publications that include author’s name, the title of the book, page number, date of publication or volume number of the book.
Citation helps the writers and authors to avoid plagiarism since the undocumented use of someone else’s ideas or words in any medium is a crime. All the writing styles have different methodologies that should be followed by the writers to follow the consistency of their work. Sometimes writers are not familiar with citation procedures so there are different citation machines available on the internet to help them in their work in just a few clicks. These citation machines convey hundred percent accurate result with considerably lesser efforts.
One of the citation styles is American Sociology Association (ASA) style. This style of citation is popular among researchers, students or publishers related to the field of sociology. The style is similar to APA and Chicago styles in terms of various features. ASA Citation Machine is available easily on the internet. It helps the users to get the correct citation in a very short span of time. Its aim is to provide accurate credentials in minimum possible time so that researchers and students can concentrate more on their research work rather than the tension of citing their work manually.
ASA Generator machines are user-friendly and ease out the pressure of submitting the work on time from the students who are not familiar with citation procedures. It is one of the best tools that students can have for their academic paper that saves the considerable amount of time. ASA citation machine is beneficial and completely reliable and helps the writer in producing the perfect citation whether it’s assignment, research paper or more.
Citation machines are the optimum tool of automated citation generator that helps the writer in just a few clicks and saves a lot of time. The researcher types the bibliographic data and the citation machine generates a citation in the required format. Different citation formats are available on the machines that can be generated by the desire of the user.

Cheating is an unethical practice and cannot be condoned anywhere in the society let alone school or colleges. In this piece, we bring you some advice as to how you can discourage students from practicing cheating in exams. 1. Inculcate growth mindset
A growth mindset is aimed at teaching students that by means of fair practices, success feels great. Any immoral or unethical act may bring you temporary praise but in the longer run, you will be disappointed. In the practical world, you cannot get away with cheating as you would have during exams.
Growth mindset instills the habit of self-growth but not at the expense of someone else’s effort but by giving your 100%. No matter if you don’t top, what matters is that you cleared your exams by working hard and you can proudly say that it was all you with no regrets deep within. Regrets are a killer and this should be communicated to students. 2. Adopt a firm ground on cheating
Both schools/colleges and parents at home should be strict when the subject of cheating is discussed. They must clearly communicate their stance/policies on those caught cheating. By clearly communicating students will be discouraged that if found to have cheated, I may be suspended or terminated from my institution and that it will subsequently bring a bad name to my parents. 3. Lead by example
Just by telling your students or your kids that you are against the practice of cheating is not going to achieve results. Set an example by putting policies to practice. Seek do my dissertation for me help online. If previously a student was found guilty of cheating, schools/colleges shouldn’t let him walk with a warning instead he should be punished as stated in the policy either suspended or parents should be called to discuss it further.
By observing other students will be discouraged as they know they will be a case of public shame in front of the school and their parents. 4. Value both extrinsic and intrinsic learning
According to studies, if teachers/parents/guardian values students’ extrinsic factors (performance in school, GPA) are more highly likely to cheat in exams because they only want to appear good to their caretakers and not grow as a morally upright person.
Hence, it is imperative that teachers/guardian should also focus on the intrinsic development of their students/kids so that they can differentiate right from wrong and not weigh everything in light of examination.
Hope the above tips will help you ensure a cheating free atmosphere for students.

On thе off сhаnсе thаt your inѕtruсtоr bеginѕ оff thе year ѕuѕресting thаt уоu аrе affable, аwаrе, and dеdiсаtеd, they will be mоrе рlеаѕаnt tо уоu аnd will rеviеw уоur works аll the mоrе еffесtivеlу. It iѕ muсh lеѕѕ demanding tо have a dесеnt initial introduction thаn tо settle a terrible оnе.
4. Ask inquiries аnd vоluntееr tо answer уоur inѕtruсtоr'ѕ inԛuiriеѕ: Yоu mау need to tаkе in thе ѕресiаltу of fаking knоwlеdgе аnd rеаdinеѕѕ. It'ѕ соnѕtаntlу ѕimрlеr tо seem kееn and аrrаngеd than to really bе brilliаnt аnd arranged. Attempt to rесаll ѕоmеthing that you think has some significance tо thе сurrеnt point. Tурiсаllу thе еduсаtоr will ѕау ѕоmеthing in rеgаrdѕ to how great уоur роint wаѕ and аftеr thаt givе you hintѕ to thе аnѕwеr ѕhе wаѕ searching fоr.
This technique hаѕ twо аdvаntаgеѕ. Tо ѕtаrt with, thе еduсаtоr ѕuрроѕеѕ уоu аrе fосuѕing in сlаѕѕ, аnd ѕесоnd, thеу will think you are equipped fоr frее thоught аnd will рrоbаblу rеviеw your рареrѕ lеѕѕ dеmаnding.
Educators adore understudies who tаkе аn intеrеѕt, аnd will ѕоmе оf thе timе ѕuрроrt their еvаluаtiоnѕ by entire lеttеrѕ. Evаluаtiоnѕ aren't unbеnding; educators can control a "F" tо "An" оr thе a diffеrеnt wау, their рrоgrеѕѕiоnѕ are seldom that extraordinary, еvеrуthing mаkеѕ a diffеrеnсе.
5. Dоn't bе hеѕitаnt tо wоrk tоgеthеr оr request: Ask еduсаtоrѕ, guаrdiаnѕ, аnd ѕсhооlmаtеѕ to сlаrifу thingѕ thаt уоu hаvе miѕѕеd. It iѕ lеѕѕ dеmаnding to rеԛuеѕt that then ѕеt аѕidе more орроrtunitу to find thе response for уоurѕеlf. Come in bеfоrе ѕсhооl fоr offer assistance. On thе оff сhаnсе thаt your educator offers to givе аѕѕiѕtаnсе outside of school, acknowledge. Regardless of the роѕѕibilitу thаt уоu аrе battling with the mаtеriаl in thе class, in thе event that уоu dеmоnѕtrаtе уоur inѕtruсtоr уоu are соmmittеd, s/he will probably givе уоu a dесеnt еvаluаtiоn.
6. Recognize оссuрiеd wоrk: ѕо аѕ to genuinely соmрrеhеnd, you nееd tо think rеgаrding thе еduсаtоr. Eduсаtоrѕ are individuаlѕ аѕ wеll. They аrе ѕimilаrlу аѕ occupied оutѕidе оf school аѕ уоu mау be, if nоt mоrе ѕо. Likеwiѕе recollect thаt for еасh homework page уоu dо, the instructor needs tо rеviеw it, and ѕinсе she mау have more thаn 100 undеrѕtudiеѕ, that iѕ a соnѕidеrаblе measure of рареrѕ. Thеrе'ѕ no rеаl wау to rеviеw every оnе оf them inѕidе аnd оut. On thе оff сhаnсе thаt уоu tаkе аftеr thе over two ѕtаgеѕ, your instructor will most likеlу hаvе a fаvоrаblе орiniоn of you аnd wоn't check уоur wоrk tоо nearly. You саn bе аlmоѕt certain a tаѕk iѕ оссuрiеd work if:
Thе tаѕk iѕ a wоrkѕhееt.
Yоu see thе educator rеviеwing precisely thе ѕаmе and spending nоt еxасtlу a moment оn еасh before entering a rеviеw.
7. Gеt ѕоrtеd оut аnd utilize your timе рrоfiсiеntlу: Orgаnizе уоur work in уоur brain аnd in a lоgbооk. Trу not tо miss duе dаtеѕ as lаtе assignments frеԛuеntlу ассоmраnу роint findingѕ. Trу not tо lоѕе fосuѕеѕ in light of thе fact thаt you соuldn't stay aware оf assignments.
Hаndlе occupied wоrk effectively. Oссuрiеd wоrk оught tо ѕеt аѕidе as muсh opportunity tо do as your inѕtruсtоr will ѕреnd rеviеwing it! On the off сhаnсе thаt there iѕ аn article with inԛuiriеѕ, frеԛuеntlу the аnѕwеrѕ саn be fоund аll tоgеthеr in thе аrtiсlе. Pеruѕеd еvеrу question thеn skim thе article for the reply. In feeling ԛuеѕtiоnѕ, уоu don't have to place thоught intо your rерlу. Simрlу mаkе something up that sounds grеаt. Numеrоuѕ undеrѕtudiеѕ as оf now hаvе a skill fоr how tо handle busywork, уеt for оthеrѕ it tаkеѕ hone. It's аn enormous help once you get thе hang of it.
8. Rеvаmр you're реnmаnѕhiр: Thiѕ рrоgrеѕѕiоn iѕ discretionary, despite thе fact thаt it will ѕignifiсаntlу lessen your wоrklоаd. Strivе fоr a style thаt iѕ nеаt, however fаѕt. Your еduсаtоr isn't evaluating you on your hаndwriting аnd ѕliсk реnmаnѕhiр takes important timе, раrtiсulаrlу while doing оссuрiеd work.
9. Consider tаking testing classes if соnсеivаblе: It might арреаr tо bе unreasonable in thе еvеnt thаt уоu аrе attempting tо gеt high еvаluаtiоnѕ with nеgligiblе еxеrtiоn, however figuring оut hоw tо dо wеll in trоublеѕоmе сlаѕѕеѕ will show you hоw to еxсееd expectations in simple сlаѕѕеѕ.
A troublesome саlеndаr will lооk еxtrаоrdinаrу оn school аррliсаtiоnѕ, аnd before long уоu will аррrесiаtе thе tеѕt. Kеер in mind thаt thеѕе tесhniԛuеѕ wоrk in practically еvеrу сlаѕѕ, inсluding thе t

- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

This originally was going to be about how I was feeling at the time with a little bit about my background to let you know where I was coming from. However, once I started I couldn't stop and as you can tell, there is more to be said with all the extra blogs to be done.
So where to start...Maybe at the beginning? I was four years old and taking a shower. I won't go into too many details because
1. It's just too painful in hindsight to think about.
2. Back then I didn't think anything was wrong,
3. I thought it was just a game my favorite grampy was playing with me. and
4. It would break the rules about sexuality and stuff.
So, I will just say that he molested me in the shower from the age of 4 to 11. He did not live with us or anything. However, we did live with him the beginning of my kindergarten year because my father did not have a job and my mom had to stay at home with me because I was sick with epilepsy and couldn't find a babysitter to watch me cause of the liability. This was in the 70's. So, we had to move in with him and his wife, who was my mom's age: rolleyes: for about 6 months. This is when the abuse started. I honestly believe that he tried with my older sister, Ritalia (not her real name) first. However, she had the guts and the spirit to fight him off. Yes, I still feel even in hindsight, some 40 years later that 2 years makes a big difference. Though to be honest, when I was 8-19 I didn't think it made that much of a difference...maybe even older than 19 and younger than 8: smile: .
I was 11, when the rape occurred. Again, I found out in hindsight that he tried it with Ritalia first. This I know for a fact. The earlier instance is just circumspect. This Ritalia admitted to. Why she never told our parents I will never know. To be honest, I hold some anger towards her for that. However, most of the harm had already been done. It wasn't till after the rape that my mom gave me the "Sex Talk." In the "Sex Talk" she said, "If any man touches you in your private area in any way. You just tell me and I will kill them." So, you could see my dilemma. I knew that mom could go to prison for killing my grandfather and I loved my mother a whole lot. I also still loved my grandfather. However, I was very angry with him now. I went to church and Sunday school so; I knew that if you prayed to God that He would answer your prayers. This I believed. So, I prayed for my grandfather to die. Two weeks later he died. I believe, even to this day, that my prayer, caused him to die. Therefore, I killed my grandfather.
So, that leaves me at age 11. At age 12, I joined Civil Air Patrol an Auxiliary of the United States Air Force. It gave me sanity till the age of 16 (when I had my first major suicide attempt). I loved it. I was the only female cadet for the longest time. I don’t know if it was a sign of the times or just happened to be what it was to be. However, I loved it. Until they made me Flight Sargent. And then things just went downhill from there. Oh, I did take a 1 year hiatus from 15 to 16 to live with my Aunt in CA. That was the life changer there, good for the most part. I lost 100 pounds and met my 1st and only boyfriend. However, that was also when my parents found out about the rape and tried to get me help.
Now that the rape was in the wide open, I felt even dirtier. Though I forgot a few things. When I came back from CA, there was a new member to the family: Sue. She was a paranoid schizophrenic. My mom had become a foster mother, sue was 20 (if I remember correctly). They had us meet in the park because they didn’t want either of us to feel proprietary over the house. It went well at first. I thought she was nice and all. However, when I moved in weird things started happening. All of us – kids ( Cat and Bob- both female) my younger sisters plus sue – had clothes baskets in our rooms for dirty clothes. I would find my dad’s shirts and Sue’s toothbrush and paste in the basket. I would also wake up in the morning to find Sue staring at me about 5 feet from the bed. We would also get in arguments over the food in the kitchen. She would eat all the cookies instead of the food mom put aside for her to eat and I was having issues with that because I had just come from my aunts and learned how to eat right and all. I started going back to what I refer to as my Old self.
Anyway, my first open SA, was when I was 16. I was in the hospital for four days. They had to do exploratory surgery of my stomach because the doctor dropped an instrument in and had to look for it. Then I had my first psych admit for six weeks in Arbor at Jamaica Plains, MA. It sucked. Their “school” was playing games. I wanted to do my school work, I was a junior in high school, they refused. I had to refuse to go to “school” and do work outside the “schoolroom” so I could remain caught up with my classes. I was on the honor society and wanted to remain there. I know kind of weird. I wanted to die but if I wasn’t allowed to die I wanted to be the best I could be and the only thing I was good at is books/schoolwork.
So, we go from 16 to 25. After graduation, I went to Russia as a student ambassador. It was great. The people there were great, my peers were jerks. They made it a living hell for me. When I was 19 I got beat by my dad. It was one of my cousins’ birthdays and my dad told me to clean the house. I didn’t. So, he called me downstairs and started screaming at me and then just stood in front of me and started punching and kicking me. I suppose you could say, I deserved it, for not cleaning the house. Cause I believe at the time I was living there rent free and without a job. I just couldn’t find one and I looked. Went to unemployment office (way out in the boonies and filled out the sheet they gave you), and went to future works to find more ideas and get training. I finally got a job at the big M, then as a HHA, then at the big M again, then when I was 24 I started College, then at Old Country Buffet and College, then I had a breakdown. In high school, I knew I couldn’t work part-time and school full time and now I was doing both full time. It was inevitable.
Now we go from 25 to 30. I ended up in Hampstead Hospital, NH. I liked it cause of the crafts but the actual therapy stuff sucked as I didn’t get to use it and they weren’t treating my symptoms. They were supposed to have a Christian Unit but instead they had a Christian Program, which I couldn’t do till the last week and a half (give or take a few days) I was there because I was restricted to the unit and the classes were off unit. I was there for a month. The insurance had said I could have 60 days but the doctor told me only 30. So, he discharged me right around Christmas to a homeless shelter in MA. I had nowhere to go. I couldn’t go back home for reasons I might discuss in a later blog, maybe.
I had no money so the hospital had to pay for my trip. It started out as a cab ride from the hospital to the bus station: ~$50; I had to take 3 buses: $26 1 from NH to Boston, 1 from Boston to Springfield, and 1 from Springfield to Westfield where the homeless shelter is. Then the homeless shelter guy picked me up from behind a restaurant which is no longer there and brought me to the shelter. Now I had told the doc that I still had SI, that I wasn’t, “safe.” Which is a term that is used in the mental health society that to be honest I don’t agree on any more, but for the purposes of this blog I am going to use. Anyway, so the homeless shelter guy asked me if I was safe and I told him no. Now, there is one thing you must realize here. I spent a MONTH in the hospital. I gathered a few things: like crafts, a bunch of them. That is one thing I will say for Hampstead Hospital their craft department is awesome. You make pottery from molds from scratch. I had done quite a lot of them. So, I had those to take with me on my trip. I basically had a duffle bag, a luggage bag and two trash bags to carry on the bus, full of ceramics. I was lucky only a couple broke. I had all this with me.So, off to Noble I went. Once I got out of noble I lived in respite and tried to go back to work. Old Country Buffet was willing to hire me back. However, I was in no shape to work. I was banging my head against a wall, multiple times a day; trying to cut myself with any type of sharp object; trying to strangle myself; basically, trying to kill or maim myself in any way shape or form possible or that I thought possible.
I lived in/out of respite/hospitals till June 1998 when I was asked if I wanted help. I said, “yes.” So, they put me in Olympus Specialty Hospital/Parkview Specialty Hospital in Springfield, MA. For 9 months. So, I had this doctor who didn’t listen to me. I told her what was going on, that the reason I banged my head was the sensation of “bugs crawling around INSIDE my head” (which my psych NP now says is a common sensation for people to have, though maybe back then it wasn’t I still have it to this day). She was more concerned with my weight than she was with my mental health. She put me on this PROGRAM that was all about my weight and none about my psych issues. I was pretty pissed off and to be quite honest did not care about my weight, 389, as I did about my psych issues. To me the big issue was my psych issues and she wasn’t addressing that except to give me pills that didn’t seem to work because I was the same as when I went in. So, anyway she went on vacation and her boss came in. I told him that I didn’t agree with her plan, and he said what plan and threw it in the air and said it was gone. Boy, was I relieved until 2 days later she comes back and tells me she is discharging me because I didn’t want to do her plan. I am like where is your boss? It was the Director of DMH so not her “boss” but yeah her “boss.” Well that’s the way I saw it at that time.
So, in March of 1999 I got discharged from Parkview Specialty Hospital and was in College. I had re-started college while in the hospital with a “shadow” that went to classes with me. In March, I went on my own and in a group home in Westfield, MA. I did not like the group home. I lived with 3 other women. Two were quiet as can be, Laurie and Pam but the 3rd one, Tina, was always in my face. I couldn’t stand her. All I wanted to do was my homework and when school got out read or watch TV. We could not agree on any shows to watch on TV and it seemed like the staff wanted to watch what she wanted to watch. So, I got screwed. I was in/out of the hospital a lot then, too. It all came to a head one night in October 9, 1999. I got into an argument with one of the staff, so I took $1 for the bus because that’s all it was back then, a fork for protection, that’s another story I might tell you another blog, and left the house “for a walk.” Now I had been talking about going to the bridge for months then, hoping that someone could talk me out of it or something, I still honestly don’t know why I told people but they should have known.
Anyway, the bus stop was right at the end of my street. Now I was kind of paranoid, though I have never been given that diagnosis as I am aware of at least. I kept looking for police vehicles and hiding behind bushes that were there till the bus came. The bus stops right at the end of the bridge rotary, I got off and walked to the center of the bridge, took my sneakers off and put my glasses in them on the off chance I would survive. You never know, I fail in most things I do, AS could just be another on that list. Well I am writing this now 27 years later so, obviously, I failed. However, I did jump. I hit a cement pylon and the water, so it’s not for lack of trying.
Here's what gets me. Everyone who I have talked to about it, be it mental health professional or laymen asks the same question: When did you have doubts, when did you decide you made the wrong decision? The answer for me is never and they won’t believe it. They say everybody had doubts: right after they jumped, in the water, mid jump, wherever, you have had to, also. My answer is still: NEVER. Look at it from my point of view. I climbed over the fence, closed my eyes cause I am afraid of heights (you might think that is my doubting moment but if it was, I would have hung onto the rail and yelled for help cause I hadn’t jumped yet), jumped, then the fall seemed to like take forever (I mean it was taking a long time or so it seemed to me) so, I opened my eyes and I was like an inch away from the cement pylon and thought to myself, this is going to hurt (now you might think that is doubt, I call it a reality check), then I don’t remember anything else until the Tinkerbell Ferry was throwing life preservers and life jackets at me to get me to take them so they could pull me in. Now it was October at night, a lady’s birthday party (yeah I am sorry for crashing your party and thank you for the coat if you are reading this), and I was refusing them. So, tell me how is that having had doubts? I mean seriously. If I had, had doubts at any time during the jump wouldn’t I be grasping at anything and getting out of the freezing water BUT NO I wanted to die. I hate it when people tell me how I feel.
So, for that failure, I got to spend 2 years and 3 months in Parkview Specialty Hospital in Springfield, MA. It’s the only local long term hospital. I was discharged to a different group home in Westfield, MA. I don’t know what to say about Parkview Hospital. I got good help this time about. I should hope so being there for as long as I was.
I graduated to my own apartment in 2005. Then in the summer of 2006 everything went to hell in a handbag. I started getting back pain bad. I was in and out of psych wards and ER’s. The ER’s kept doing blood work, urine and x-rays and the hospitals would do those and start to do more until I needed to be discharged. Finally 9/11/2006 I saw my PCP and she said go for a CT scan. So, I went and they found a blob on my spine and then an MRI, which was diagnosed as Osteomyelitis and I needed surgery. I asked the surgeon could I die from it he said yes. So, I told him I didn’t want the surgery. He told me it would be a very painful way to die and is there someone I could call to change my mind. So, I called my mom and she got me to have the surgery. So, I had surgery on the 13th of September (there’s more to this story, possibly another blog)
That was Wednesday. On Saturday, the 16th they started me walking with a walker. I did a “controlled fall” their words not mine. I consider it just a fall. Anyway, they did another MRI that night. The next morning the surgeon comes to my room, lowers the head of my bed and says you have to stay flat on your back till your next surgery. I said, “How will I eat?” He said, “Flat on your back. You are not to move one inch until I do your next surgery to put a rod in your spine.” (continuation of the other blog story) So, he didn’t do the second surgery, Tufts New England did and it was great there. I was only there for 10 days but it was great. Then back to Parkview but this time on its rehab floor. Much better on rehab floor than in psych. I was there from November 11, 2006 to March 31, 2007. They helped me to walk again. (I think I will save this for another blog story)
Then from April 2007 to January 2010 I was hospital free, attended a day program (another blog story), started some crafts: jewelry making, watercolor painting, ceramic painting, etc. until my paternal grandmother died. I knew it was bound to happen, she had been in a nursing home for ~6 years and she was nonverbal, nonphysical, etc. basically, she was practically in a coma. However, I loved her dearly and still had hope that she would make it. I had another breakdown and ended up in the hospital and was in/out of hospitals till March 2013. I was still attending the day program at this time.
On March 27, 2013, I OD’d and turned the gas on in my apartment. Now I lived in elderly housing due to my spinal cord injury. I had thought about it ahead of time and put a notice on my door for the fire department to let them know that the gas leak was from me. I left suicide notes for everyone in the family if I succeeded, if I didn’t succeed I left groups of stuff to go with me to the hospital and then to Parkview because I knew I would have to go there for something like this. I mean this was a well thought out attempt throughout six days. I gave hints, here and there that something was up at the day program but no one took me seriously, or maybe it was that they didn’t and I also didn’t feel like the hospitals were doing me any good. They were just a Band-Aid for a gaping wound. (another blog)
So, I did end up in Parkview/Kindred/Vibra for a year. It is now Vibra. Anyways got discharged from there to another group home in Westfield, MA, MIMI. Mentally Ill/Medically Ill. So, there was five of us there, which rotated out some: Mike, Carol, Deb, Marty, and Me. Yeah it was co-ed. Then Carol left and Linda came and Mike left and Christina came. Or something like that. (another blog) I had an outside nursing service Nihzoni. To make a long story short, for now, they had me made “homebound” in 2014 and in 2015 I fell in the group home from the side effects of one of my medications- Ditropan, and ended up in nursing home for rehab and then the group home wouldn’t take me back cause the nursing service wouldn’t come in to do me cause they got me considered “homebound” (another blog) and so now I live here in Heritage Hall West in Agawam, MA. (another blog)
My, my, how time flies....
It's been 2 years, 1 month, and 17 days since I last uploaded an entry. Goodness. So many hardships and heartaches, joys and achievements. A few life updates for those who follow this. I moved out of my great-grandmother's house last July; I now live in my very own apartment. It was difficult leaving, but I had no other choice if I were to keep my job. The engine went out on my car, and I lived too far away to walk and had no one to ride with, so I moved into town. Now, work is just a 30 second walk away lol. I've been exploring the dating world, and one word pretty much sums that up: ugh. But let me back up a bit. This January, my boyfriend of 14 months and I broke up. I simply couldn't live with the doubt that a long distance relationship brought. That, and he had cheated on Christmas Eve, but didn't tell me until New Years. Water under the bridge now. We don't have any contact now. It's taken me until now to get past most of that depression, and I've begun to test the waters with others. So far, I've been turned down haha. Still a virgin though :P. I do believe I'll die one lol. Finances are tight, but I'm saving up for a car a little at a time (my credit is horrible). Family now.... I don't speak to my family, with the exception of my sister and on occasion my mother. I've been making efforts to make a few friends. I've become close to my co-workers, and talk to them as if they were my family.
These past couple years have had more turmoil and change than any others of my life. It's not done yet either, cause I'm trying to decide what state I should move to; this one is just not for me. I'm also making an effort at being online more often; there for a while, I just had no desire at all to interact. I have to keep at it though, because my natural tendency is to tire of interaction quickly. Love you all!

THE END OF THE STORY
ROBERT JORDAN DIED BEFORE HE COULD FINISH HIS SPRAWLING, THIRTEEN-BOOK FANTASY EPIC, SO HIS WIDOW HIRED A THIRTY-ONE-YEAR-OLD FANTASY NOVELIST TO FINISH IT FOR HIM.
DISCUSSED: Comical Hats, Tertiary Characters, Conan the Barbarian, The Dark One, Typologies Within Typologies, Moral Predicaments, Braid-Yanking, Rhapsodies Over Brocaded Silk, Arcane Metaphysical Theology, Clark Gable
Robert Jordan, born James Oliver Rigney Jr. in 1948, sold more than 40 million books in his lifetime. His Wheel of Time series, a still-unfinished multivolume epic spanning, at last count, thirteen books, more than 10,500 pages, and approximately 3,734,312 words, is among the world’s most popular fantasy series since J. R. R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. You would have every reason to expect this level of authorial accomplishment to be accompanied by an onset of false modesty—the one-sentence life story, say, graven casually on the back flap of a dust jacket. Yet in nine of the eleven Wheel of Time novels Jordan wrote before his death, in 2007, we’re presented with the portrait of a man looking to get lucky at a Renaissance Faire:
Robert Jordan was born in 1948 in Charleston, South Carolina, where he now lives with his wife, Harriet, in a house built in 1797. He taught himself to read when he was four with the incidental aid of a twelve-year-older brother, and was tackling Mark Twain and Jules Verne by five. He is a graduate of The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, with a degree in physics. He served two tours in Vietnam with the U.S. Army; among his decorations are the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Bronze Star with ‘V,’ and two Vietnamese Crosses of Gallantry. A history buff, he has also written dance and theater criticism. He enjoys the outdoor sports of hunting, fishing and sailing, and the indoor sports of poker, chess, pool and pipe collecting. He has been writing since 1977 and intends to continue until they nail shut his coffin.
Jordan’s biography is typical of his work: verbose but vivid, tendentious but still somehow charming, and threaded throughout with equal parts valor and invention. (Pipe collecting, after all, was not a sport until Jordan made it one; nor, for that matter, was Robert Jordan a fantasy author before Rigney rescued him from a prior career as an explosives expert in Hemingway’s For Whom the Bell Tolls.)
Real-life combat experience is something that Jordan, a former helicopter gunner (he claimed to have once shot a rocket-propelled grenade out of midair), shared with Tolkien, who witnessed all but one of his closest friends die in World War I. But where the don of modern fantasy boasted a dusty, Oxford-certified facility with language, philology, and the Middle Ages, Jordan made himself over after Vietnam in the classic mode of the American genre-fiction author. A bearded man with a penchant for elaborate canes, chunky rings, and comical hats, he favored the look of a Southern general. He admitted to being a Freemason. At Q&A sessions, he would not hesitate to interrupt a small child’s incorrect pronunciation of a tertiary character’s name. He wrote the series for which he became famous in an old carriage house cluttered with swords, axes, crossbows, spears, knives, and a human skeleton.
In 2006, Jordan became sick with a rare blood disease called cardiac amyloidosis—a condition in which misshapen proteins, produced in bone marrow, come to be deposited in the walls of the heart. Faced with a median life expectancy of only four more years, Jordan channeled The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’s Eli Wallach, writing on his blog: “Don’t talk to me about no stinking odds, gringo. I’ve got promises to keep.”
What promises? After a post-Vietnam career that included a stint as a nuclear engineer, an early foray into historical fiction, under the pen name Reagan O’Neal, for publisher Tor (where he was first edited by Harriet McDougal, who would later become his wife), and three books’ worth of pinch-hitting in the house’s Conan the Barbarian series, Jordan began the Wheel of Time in 1984. He’d pitched Tor on a six-book cycle. A little over twenty years later, when Jordan received his diagnosis, he was at work on the Wheel’s twelfth volume, and seemingly no closer to finishing the series than he had been a decade earlier. Rigney’s bio suddenly looked all too prophetic. They nailed shut his coffin the next year.
“I can almost feel that moment, standing and holding the book in my hands, listening to someone play an antiquated upright of Cadash in the background,” read the online eulogy penned by a then-thirty-one-year-old Brandon Sanderson, a burgeoning fantasy novelist and former Mormon missionary. He was talking about his first encounter with the Wheel of Time, which he stumbled upon in a comic-book store. “The cover screamed epic,” he recalled. McDougal, now a widow, was in the midst of a search for a replacement when she read Sanderson’s tribute online.
In this, as in most matters relating to the couple’s happy marriage and the books it produced, she had her husband’s blessing. Jordan, who once spoke so cavalierly about dying with a pen in his hand, had come to realize, at the end of his life, that his series needed a resolution, whether or not he was around to write it. His treatment left him strong enough to work two hours a day, and Jordan skipped ahead, wrote the series’s final paragraph, then began working backward. In his last weeks, when his strength failed him entirely, Jordan summoned his family to his deathbed and narrated aloud the fate of a world he knew he wouldn’t live long enough to realize. They made tapes for posterity.
In September 2007, eighteen months after first receiving his fatal diagnosis, Jordan was buried at Charleston’s St. Stephen’s Church. McDougal wore one of her husband’s black, wide-brimmed hats to the ceremony. The Citadel sent a bagpiper. In the graveyard parking lot, his family gathered around Jordan’s Porsche and listened solemnly to Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings. The memorial program read, “He came like the wind, like the wind touched everything, and like the wind was gone.” Once Jordan’s assembled friends, family, and admirers finally cleared out past her home’s dragon-carved gates, McDougal grieved. Then she went looking for a writer to finish what her husband had started.
After stumbling across Sanderson’s wonkily sincere paean to Jordan (“You go quietly, but leave us trembling,” the younger author had concluded), McDougal picked up one of his books, read forty-five pages, and fell asleep. But when she awoke, she later told the Charleston City Paper, “All the book’s elements were perfectly clear” in her mind. Sanderson had the job.

Every now and again I come across an article that makes me say to myself “huh, that’s a great idea! It could revolutionize _____!”.
Not long after, I’ll start thinking to myself about the ramifications of what might happen if that idea takes off.
The following article is one such idea. https://foodtechconnect.com/2016/05/12/mini-farm-robots-can-revolutionize-small-scale-farming/
Over the last 10 years, I’ve personally seen the cell phone trend go from flip style phones constantly getting smaller, to full-fledged mini-computers (that keep getting larger!) capable of playing video games that the average computer in 2006 would have had trouble running, all the while getting a faster internet connection then the average American household.. Robotics were generally only used in an industrial setting (like the automotive industry).
Just this last year, McDonald’s and Wendy’s have been looking at applying an order/pay kiosk at several branches, (which like self-checkout at Wal-Mart and many grocery chains can easily take off within the next couple of years)
Adidas is re-opening a German shoe factory with the majority of the labor being done by robots.
Google and Tesla have self-driving automobiles, that are a barely a decade away from becoming mainstream.
The Military has been using Drone technology to keep American soldiers’ safe, while delivering precision strikes against possible high-value targets.
Amazon is experimenting with Drones for package delivery.
AI algorithms are being used in trading stocks at the speed of light, which has made humans virtually obsolete on the stock market floor.
It’s been hypothesized that 2 billion jobs will be eliminated in 2030 due to automation.
In April Stephen Hawking, Yuri Miner, and other’s introduced the concept of Starshot, using Solar Sails, and Lasers that could potentially get an object humans created to Alpha Centauri within 20 years.
That’s INTERSTELLAR TRAVEL PEOPLE! Truly Something I never expected would be possible within my life time.
Many of these ideas will radically change the future, in ways we can only imagine; and ultimately our imaginations are limited by our individuality.
Growing up, our parents told us to do well in school, because it would greatly affect our future. To keep one eye on the future..
That advice only seemed to apply to us... and was subsequently forgotten.
Throughout our lifetime, we make many compromises... Dreams change, hopes change, circumstances change. That's simply reality.
As a nation, we keep trying to change things by doing everything the same way and expecting a different result.
We try to get out of debt, by creating more debt.
We try to have the best military, by not listening to what the military actually needs.
We help our vets, by not helping them.
We keep voting for politicians, and expecting them to not act like politicians!
We fail at so very much, so often, the least we can do as a nation is learn from those failures. Being able to admit that we were wrong, and changing our mind is called humility. It is something we as a nation have lost...
Expressing humility is not weakness. It takes tremendous strength and courage to show it. It is often one of the hardest things a person can do in their life.
If we want to shape the future, we have to keep an eye on the present as well as the future. The more we attempt to make the future look like the past, the less ability we have to shape the future.
I have no black and white solutions for shaping our future, what must be done, and what can't be done. What I can say is this.
Communication. We can't know every human beings hopes and dreams are, or what they'll do to accomplish those dreams. But if we listen and hear what they say. See what they see. And don't instantly dismiss people because it goes against our preconceived notions, we might find a shared future we can all work towards.
If we don't do anything, I fear our future might resemble the world Paul Simon envisioned in the 60s.
"Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
No one dare Disturb the sound of silence"

[Original Source] written by Ascendancy @ The First Age
“..and a new god shall rise, an abomination born in the newest of lands, essence of evil divine, he shall be the over thrower and destroyer of the human race. — And evil Power will be given him to desolate the whole earth with authority which thou hast not seen before.”
— Atharim prophecy, the 6th Age
The Atharim are a secret society. They are the descendants of the ones calling themselves the Remnant, or "Athari" (Ancient Arabic). The Atharim were once concentrated in the cradle of civilization but following the end of the Age of Escape, they scattered themselves across the world, vowing to devote their very existence to the continued eradication of “the gods,” - those immortal tyrants who nearly destroyed the world with their titanic wars - and so forever prevent their return.
Atharim lore states that once the world was ruled by gods. These immortal beings loved and served the world they created at first. Soon they ceased walking among humanity, befriending the nations, and serving all the world. They became tyrants. They enslaved humanity to turn the earth’s underbelly while they feasted upon their lofty mountains. There was nothing humanity could do; they were irresistibly strong. Even the offspring were terrors.
Then, no longer content with power over mortals, civil war erupted among the gods, and the carnage spilt from the heavens. From the depths of their imaginations they summoned great beasts to shred divine flesh. They crafted weapons such as to shear one another’s souls. The world’s playground became their battlefield, but it was the mortals who suffered the most causalities
It was the Atharim which discovered the weapons which the gods created to kill one another could be wielded by human hands. If the gods could be destroyed, then humanity would be free. Such are the Atharim’s origins: warriors, patriots, and assassins. They heralded the Age of Escape. They saved the world from the gods.
The beasts, creatures, servants, and the weapons created by the fury of the godwars were hunted until they were driven into hiding or destroyed, while the deity offspring were tracked down and eliminated. With the death of the final god so came the passing of the Age of Escape. By the inception of the 6th Age, the Atharim dwindled as their mission was apparently complete. When the next Age was sealed to the turning of the Wheel, the remnant truly became a remnant again; now their own members are unaware of their origins.
The Age of Industry was not immune to the haunts of these creatures. People have seen monsters, creatures, and terrors. Legends exist. Myths abound. Ardent belief remains in some groups to this day. They follow, worship, or fear these creatures, but witnesses are discounted as insane or ignorant. The weird has been ignored by mainstream society where the rationality of logical human beings always justifies the inexplicable.
Yet the Atharim know their time of slumber has drawn to a close. Prophecy remains, and the signs have been followed. Portends stir in the dark places of the world; omens gather and creatures long thought extinct are emerging, bold and unafraid for the first time in centuries.
All of it heralds what the ancient scrolls foretell: a god has returned, and more will follow: sprung from those old bloodlines as spirits escaping their iron cages....
God, creature, or demon: where they return, the Atharim will be waiting.
The Atharim headquarters are located within the walls of Vatican City, the only city-state in Europe never to have joined the Central Custody of Dominions.
The Vatican was long been considered a place of historical register, including such honorariums as the papal archives, Vatican Museum, and Vatican Library to name a few. The Atharim headquarters is within the Vatican Historical Society and existed seamlessly within this city of ancients under the authority of a ruling conclave and Regus. It is unknown whether the Catholic Church is aware of the presence of the Atharim.
The Vatican Historical Society is legitimately historical in nature. As charged with governance over the historical integrity of papal and apostolic literature, the Society is also considered to be the Vatican's foremost experts on eschatology: the study of final events of history, the ultimate destiny of humanity, or more commonly described as "the end times." Little does the congregation of Catholics realize, but their study of the end times was not to record the apocalypse as assumed but rather to prevent it. If any resource holds the secrets to understanding the Wheel, the Pattern, and the changing of Ages, those secrets are lost among the ancient scrolls in Atharim vaults.
Now, the Atharim quietly opened a second headquarters - In Moscow.
The Atharim are warriors, assassins, and guardian angels for humanity. Members are recruited from within the Historical Society or upon recommendation of current members.
To be considered, a candidate usually possesses the appropriate training, discipline and skill to be worthy of the job. Atharim candidates come from variety of backgrounds, but do not fully realize the importance of their role until their initiation before the Atharim conclave. Due to the difficulty of finding dedicated individuals, the next generation often comes from families with long-standing roles in the Atharim. These members are taught since infancy how to hunt the creatures lurking in dark places of the world, about the laws which govern Atharim tenants, and how to decipher the complexities of eschatological prophecy.
Atharim are marked by the tattoo of an ouroboros on their inner left forearm, stylized per the individual's preference.
Guardian of The Remnant, Vicar of Iscariot, The Ouroboros; the Regus of the Atharim leads the society. The position is currently held by Armande Nicodemus.
