Chapters 40-45 of Jayson WoT Journal, Carrie Fan Feedback, and Ben's Crazy Theory are all part of this week's episode of The 4th Age. Remember, this podcast was recorded with the intention of being released prior to Dragon*Con, but for various reasons is being released after.
I spent the weekend with a man walking a tight rope holding a small parasol in one hand for balance while tipping his hat to the crowd far below with the other. I'm stealing the metaphor from Harriet for that was her description of the circus act RJ is performing trying to keep the medications in balance, do some work and keep you (fans) and we (family) informed.

The dynamic duo has returned from the Mayo with mostly good, but certainly mixed results. Amyloidal deposits are measured as monoclonal free light chain fragments. There are "good and bad" light chains. The good news is that the ratio of good to bad has definitely improved. The mixed news is that both numbers were up. The Dragonmount Writers Guild is looking for interested writers and artists to submit peices for a Dragonmount Anthology. If there is enough interest we will begin collecting submissions for a 1 to 2 month time period and then begin the selection process.
Short stories should range between 7,500 and 20,000 words. Two types of artwork can be submitted, cover artwork (which is in color) and inset artwork (which is in black and white).

The Wheel of Time track at Dragon*Con has released their schedule of programming for 2006.
Dragon*Con is America's largest, multi-media, popular arts convention focusing on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film. The dates are Sept. 1-4. Well, guys, it turns out that the possible good news was only a chimera after all. The chemo did not work. I am still producing amyloids. Oh, well. I knew going in that I had only a 60% chance of a good result. I guess sometimes even my luck doesn't stretch far enough. The silver lining in that is that the disease is stable. There has been no further damage to my heart from three months ago. There is that.
