Dragonpage, a popular fantasy-based podcast, had an opportunity to do an audio interview with Robert Jordan. It's pretty interesting, and an enjoyable program to listen to. Beware of KoD spoilers though! RJ comes right out and blatantly gives away several plot points.
One interesting tidbit is about how RJ is considering writing a non-WOT short story for a fantasy anthology.

Jarrod send us this lengthy report on the Lexington, KY book signing.
Thanks, Jarrod!
Another report came in from Robert MacCloud who briefly said that another customer asked Robert Jordan about his time in Saudi Arabia. Turns out that the person had mistaken him for Robert Jordan, the US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia who had been appointed by President Bush!
Yet another report comes in from Kevin Dean, one of Dragonmount's staff members who attended the event.

Knife of Dreams is currently the #1 best-selling book in the United States. The report came from Tor today that the NEW YORK TIMES reported KoD as being at the top of their list. Some more details :
Most of the books in the WoT series have been gone #1 on the list when they came out.
It is expected that KoD will be #1 on the London Times as well, but that's still speculation on our part.
Congratulations, RJ!
We received two reports so far from the Dayton, OH signing, which seemed to be a big success.

More reports as the tour continues.
Our beloved author and friend Robert Jordan is celebrating his birthday today, October 17th.
Doubtless he is out celebrating by going to book signings. If you happen to see him in the next few days, wish him a happy birthday from all of us. Feel free to sing "Happy Birthday" with a very large crowd. :)
We've received two reports so far from people who attended the book signing in West Chester, PA today. The first one came from Jennifer:
Thanks for the full report, Jennifer, and for the pictures. And kudos to whoever it was that started the happy birthday song for RJ. I wonder if our news article that reminded them, or just a very attentive fan?
The second report comes from Zach, who gave us this tidbit, and plans to send an audio clip of the event. Check back here soon to
WotMUD has been online for as long as WoT and mud have existed. Which is quite a while. It is therefore a pretty cool deal when this established and mature game releases a new major version of their software. Here's the info that we were sent.
Our first signing report from Robert Jordan's Knife of Dreams Tour. David Funke reports from the Barnes&Noble in Manhattan.
We also received this report from Byryn:
More reports to come! Please send them into
You should not be reading this article. Go out and buy KNIFE OF DREAMS, the 11th book in the Wheel of Time series. It is now available in every bookstore in the US and Canada. If it's not in local bookstore, then your local bookstore is either behind the times or is actually a cooking store.
After you've read the book, be sure to come back and discuss everything on our message boards. Also, check out Robert Jordan's US tour schedule to see if he's coming to a city near you. If you go to
The organizers of Tor's internet hunt sent us this update over the weekend.
Its a pity the game won't be able to go on as planned, but those nifty prizes will still get out there.

This may be the last post until after the tour, I'm afraid. We leave for NY early on Saturday, and that means tomorrow will be busy. There aren't only preps for the trip, there is the matter of getting things ready here for us to be away for a month. And there is this huge stack of bookplates that I have to finish signing for Time Warner (UK). At least they didn't do what they did the first time I agreed to sign bookplates. They sent me a carton with about 10,000 of the things, rough
If I seem to be posting a lot, it's because the tour is coming up. I want to get in some of these things before I go away and the blog goes on hiatus. We'll be flying to New York on Saturday to take care of some business before the tour begins, on Tuesday. I'm a little worried about the first signing, I'll admit. I know I can pull a good evening crowd in NYC; I've done it before. But 12:30 on a Tuesday? That's the slot where they put politicians, movies stars and celebrities. Yes, I'm a little c
The Game of Stones is a self titled "MMORPG" (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) created by fans of the Wheel of Time. The game is free to play. You register your character and have the opportunity to accumulate weapons, powers, and gold.
Game of Stone is in a beta phase. Lots of new features will be added later. To create a character, go to the website and click on the main logo image.
The game is unaffiliated with Dragonmount, but if you look around, you'll probably
Robert Jordan sent a copy of his tour schedule directly to a few fan websites. All of these dates are confirmed. The only one up in the air is the signing in Anchorage, Alaska. That will happen next June (yes, June 2006) during the fishing season. Hey, it's RJ. What do you expect?
