  1.  The ridiculously bad sex scenes was the worst thing about GoT. If sex scenes are something you look for in a tv show, I think something is wrong with you. Especially in the internet age. All the porn you could possibly want is already at your finger tips.. why does it have to be in a tv show that actually has CONTENT that people should want to see.  Just think... if GoT had cut out all those crap sex scenes and filled it with content instead... would things have been so rushed at the end?

You know how to completely ruin girl on girl sex? Have creepy ass Littlefinger reciting a monologue during it.. GoT had the worst sex scenes of any show I have ever watched.

He was not forced, he towered over Tylin and could quite easily have physically terminated her advancements at any point.

Maybe you should do a re-read. At some point, after being starved, pressured, coerced, he physically grabbed her and told her that was enough... She put her knife to his throat, told him to take his hands off of her, told him I didnt want to do it this way but you leave me no choice, forced him back to the bed with a knife at his throat, cut his clothes off and later, after she was finished with him, planted her knife in his headboard as a reminder of who was in charge. You have to be kidding with the he could have stopped her.

  3.  In the books, I always found it very interesting to see Rand through other's eyes. When you are reading the Rand chapters through his POV it is easy to forget just how scary he is to everyone else. That is one of the reasons I like that Morainne is going to be a main character. One, it makes "who is the dragon" more of a question and possibly a bigger reveal than the books, but also I want to see Rand transform through different eyes. If you saw the close up of Logain's face when he is channeling, crisscrossed with tendrils, or however to describe it, it looks pretty menacing. Book 2, when Rand is on his own, channeling, killing farm dogs and slicing the heads off women, that can be pretty damned epic in a tv show.

  4.  I am pretty sure the term "weathered" was used at least once in the description in the books.

Something that always stuck out to me was his piercing blue eyes, his stare, and then later on the chilling blue eyes after the bond was severed.

BUT, I thought he was better in the trailer then I was expecting so all in all I am not too bothered by the casting choice.

In looking at scene with double axe leap frame by frame, what he is leaping at looks trapped in air.  Its an odd scene.  I was hoping someone would dissect it.  Looks almost underground.  Woman in back ground is hard to id but looks like wearing blue.  Maybe his first Aes Sedai that dies. Logain killing her would definitely create some big tension between him and a Warder close to EF5.

That is what I think. Logain blasts out of the cage, kills the Aes Sedai. Morrainne and friends recapture him, while held in a shield and flows of air.. the enraged warder rushes for the kill, all else be damned.

  6.  Rafe Judkins was asked if we would see any forsaken in season 1. His reply was...

"It depends on how much you know about the Forsaken" (Judkins ended it with a geek emoji)

I think it will be Ishmael pretending to be the DO. Readers will know it is not the DO, but watchers will not.

  7.  Yeah, I dont think we will be seeing that for awhile. Maybe even season 2. From that 2 minute trailer.. I am getting the vibe gonna be a lot more Aes Sedai action this season, near the end of the season we might start learning about the Dragon. Season 2, the Lews Therin/Ishmael confrontation could come as a "memory".

Even could be a "dream" that the boys share. You don't see the face of the person, it would be like each of them are the one, the way they had dreams in book 1.

  8.  I also believe she is a product of the wheel. A couple of slight touches to ensure the pattern stays in the correct loop. With all the taverens running around, weaving the pattern around them, a few adjustments were probably necessary.

I think the pipe-lighting is because Rand, in his battle with the DO, was literally controlling the weaves of the pattern. He raised Lan, death cannot be healed. After it was over, he will always have a connection with the pattern that will allow him to manipulate the pattern of things close around him.

The problem with GOT is that while they stuck relatively close to the source material in the beginning, the Show Runners D and D had no idea what they were doing.

The problem I have with people who dish on D and D is this... what exactly do they expect?

GRRM completely, 100%, screwed over D and D.

It seems some GoT fans expected D and D to quit tv, spend a few years learning to write novels, become best selling novelists, finish GoT novels for GRRM, then quit being best selling novelists, go back to TV, become producers again, adapt the best selling novels they wrote for GRRM and make a great ending to his series.  Btw, by the time they do all that, the actor playing Bran is 102 years old.

    Aragem,

what are your reading habits? (where, when, how, one book or multiple books at the same time, can you share your feelings/thoughts with anyone etc)

    Is WOT worth your time?

If any signs of burning out start to present themselves, then take a break (3-5 days).

    I'm currently reading four books.

Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon.  I fell in love with the Starz television show and then the books.  I'm reading them in chronological order and currently on the Lord John Grey spinoff series.

Harry Potter by JK Rowling.  It's been about ten years since I read the books and a friend and I are planning on going to Orlando to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter sometime next year.  Currently on book 6.

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss.  A friend recommended it to me and I'm still on the first book.

    And WOT.

I tend to do most of my reading at work as a tend to get some down time and I read the books from my Kindle app on my phone.  I tend to switch to a different book each day and switch after I get through ten percent through each book.  That keeps me from getting burned out on them and lets me compare the writing techniques of the authors.

So far WOT has definitely been worth my time!  Been loving it.

Rothfuss is on my list with GRRM. They made a lot of money selling the beginning of a story, then decided writing isn't really what they want to do, so took our money and is using it to live the good life while the story remains unfinished. I will never contribute another penny to either writer. When they completely finish their series, I will go to a used bookstore and buy the books used so they do not profit from it. In fact, I may not ever even finish GRRM's books since HBO is going to finish them for him.

  11. Been watching a lot of Archer and I thought what roles the cast of Archer would play in Wheel of Time.

Rand = Sterling Malory Archer   Because of attracting multiple women and because Archer would totally dig being the legenday Dragon Reborn.

Perrin = Cyril.Figgis   Because Cyril and Perrin are smart, but tend to overthink things and for some reason I think it would be hilarious for Cyril to run with wolves.

Mat/Ray Gillette =  Because neither one is afraid to call someone on their BS.

Moraine / Malory Archer = Both are strong women who have to struggle with their underlings and also I would love to see Moraine's peaceful assertiveness replaced with Malory's scathing remarks.

Nynaeve/ Lana Kane = Both of them seemed to be willing to get physical to get things done and get impatient with foolishness.

Egwene / Pam Poovey = Because I imagine Pam going 'sploosh' a lot during her time in Tar Valon and she might get off on the whole Leash thing.

Min / Cheryl Tunt = Because I can see her making fun of the terrible visions she would see around people.

Loial/ Doctor Krieger = Simply because I can see Krieger mutating himself into a tall inhuman being.

Ba'alzamon / Barry = They are both Rand/Archer's arch nemesis and seem to get beat up and hurt after each encounter with them.

Lan / Woodhouse = Just because.

I absolutely love Archer, the ONLY cartoon I watch, but...

     NO.

  12.

Makes sense... I somehow believe that RJ also wanted Cadsuane to die... Brandon said he included only 1 POV in the epilogue and that was Cadsuane.. Brandon maybe just wanted to challenge the fans by saying "yeah i know you all thought she was going to die but she isnt.. so Boo-yah!"

:-) but still I am pretty angry how BS describe Gawyn as selfish brat in final book :-(

The final book? Gawyn has been a selfish brat for many many books now. I was glad to see him go down.

I wasnt just mad that Egwene went down. If the annoying, pain in the butt, Elayne had gone down as well, it would have been perfect. Battlefield labor/delivery followed by beheading.

  13. From the Shadow's perspective, the only battle that really matters is the one at Shayol Ghul.  The only person they had to defeat was Rand.  So why were all the shadow's forces not sent there?  Ok so we know trollocs can't move through gateways so maybe they stay and do their thing at the other 3 battlefronts, but why not send in all the channellers and even the Sharans?  Surely Demandred should have been there at the very least.

The Light on the other hand couldn't afford to send all their armies to Shayol Ghul because they couldn't afford to let the trollocs ransack the rest of the world.

From the DOs perspective, the only thing that really matters is tormenting, breaking, and destroying hope, it is his nature. That is why he can't offer oblivion.
