  1. Kopair listened as Veria walked away. He kept control of himself, wrapped in the Spring, though the lessons Aran had taught him were become hard to remember at this point. She walked by him and he made no move, staying rock steady, not wanting to move or speak, afraid it might scare her even more. His heart screamed for him to do something, but he mastered the impulse.

Finally he heard her move to about 50 paces down the path and silently he stood and opened his eyes. He watched as Veria moved slowly down the path, her back stiff, obviously resisting the urge to turn around. He slipped into the trees, blending in with the shifting shadows and quickly and soundlessly caught up with Veria. He paced her off to the side, studying her, memorizing her face, her every move, as he watched the emotions war on her face.

He tried several times to speak, to find the words that would get her to stay, to open up to him, but he couldn't find them. He contented himself with just following her, watching out for her.  Even once they reached the street he kept an eye on her. No matter what, he felt protective over her and despite the fact that this was Tar Valan he would make sure she got back to the Tower safely.

He strolled into the Yard some 20 paces behind Veria, quickly losing himself in the bustle of trainees, Tower Guards, and the like. finding his way back to the trainee barracks he tossed himself onto his bunk and stared up at the ceiling. He had screwed up badly, and he knew it. And he was lost as to how and fix it. He knew he had to do something though. He wasn't going to let Veria go.  A couple of hours passed, and finally he got up and moved to the writing desk in the corner, plan in mind. Unstopping the ink, he grabbed a pen and began to write.

    Dearest Veria,

I know I handled things badly today. Though I don't fully understand what happened, I know it must be my fault, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to fix things. I don't know what to do though. All I know is that, no matter what, I'm not letting you go without a fight.

You said that I expected more then you thought you could give.  However I don't expect anything more then for you to be true to yourself. Follow your heart, and no more, and that's all I ask. You said I don;t understand, and you're right, but I want to try.

When you're ready, I'll be waiting for you. I'm not going anywhere.

    Yours always,

    Kopair

Signing his name he blotted the page and rolled it up then sealed it.  Taking it he headed for the mess hall and looked for a friend of his named Stile among the errand boys. They often hung out there in there off times to goggle at the Tower Guards. Sure enough he was lounging in a corner watching with envy as one of the men polished his sword while waiting for his food.

After a short conversation, and a small amount of silver handed over, Stile took the message and agreed to deliver it to Veria.  Kopair headed back to his bunk and Stile trotted off into the Tower. Grabbing a load of firewood for an excuse the boy went into the Accepted's quarters and found Veria's room. He's delivered to there before.  Knocking on the door he got no response, so opened the door and slipped inside.  Seeing the room empty he quickly laid the message on the bed, left the wood in the wood box, and left the room ebfore he was caught.

  2. Dre fixed herself a plate of food and slowly began to eat along with Veria and Kass.

“So girls Please tell me where your from, how old you are and a little about yourselves.”

Dre thought for a moment, thinking with a smile about how many times she'd answered those question in her short time in the Tower.  Finally she responded.

"I'm 16, and I'm from Kandor. I come from a small village not too far from the Blight. close enough that raids were not uncommon.  I came to teh Tower because I was tired of seeing the trollocks slaughter and not be able to do anything about it."

  3. Welcome to the White Tower!  The land where the girls are girls, unless they're guys pretending to be girls...

    *coughs*

Anyway, glad to see you found your way here. :)  I'm sure Andrea and the rest of the crew will begin swarming in soon.  Although it has been a little dead today. :(

    Where is everybody?! :P

  4. Dre watched as the only novice she didn't know in the room take a few hesitant steps toward the table, eyeing the plate of cookies nearby. Pausing in her conversation she picked up the plate of cookies and smiled at the girl.

"You looked like you might be interested in these. They're very good. If you want, you're welcome to sit down and join us. I'm always looking to meet new people."

  5. Raylin looked down at Jena with a smile and stroked her cheek softly as she tilted her head to look at Raylin.

"I'm not sure who he is love, but you're right, he does look a little lonely. Let's go say hello."

Raylin put her arm around Jena and the pair glided over to the man.  He'd been watching them since Jena had arrived and wasn't even trying to hide it.  He took a drink from his class and then poured himself a refill as the girls stopped at the table.

"Hello there.  My name is Raylin, and this is Kirsa. We've never seen you before, so thought we'd come over and introduce ourselves."

  6. Dre hopped up from her cushion as Veria answered the door and a serving woman stood there with a cart holding their food. She went over to the door to help bring the food in and gestured for Kirsa to do the same. It never hurt to get on the good side of an Accepted by helping. Together the two girls helped Veria set up the dinner, then Dre studied the flowers that Veria had pointed out, fascinated by them.

"These flowers are beautiful Veria. It must have been difficult to get them to grow like this." She paused, toying with the green rose, then continued. "What do you have planned for Kirsa tonight?  Anything I can help with?"

  7. After Dre dropped her curtsey the Aes Sedai introduced herself as Aramina Sedai. Dre couldn't help but blink in surprise at that.  The Keeper of the Chronicles had invited her to a tea party? She couldn't believe her luck. Aramina told her to make herself comfortable and Dre began walking around the room, studying the tapestries and weapons with fascination after grabbing a cup of tea.

A few minutes later another Novice entered the room, looking around as if she suspected some sort of trap. She almost laughed out loud when she saw Aramina. Dre could swear the girl's jaw almost hit the ground in surprise.

Shortly after that a novice she recognized named Melianna walked in. She curtseyed to Aramina and then walked over toward Dre.  Dre smiled at her in welcome and the two spoke for a couple of minutes.  They sat at the table and began snacking as they chatted. Dre then looked over as the door swung open yet again and Kirsa walked in.

"Hi Dre. Is this seat taken?"

Dre smiled and gestured to the seat next to her.

"Not at all Kirsa. Glad to see you were able to come.  Kirsa, this is Melianna.  Melianna, this is my roommate Kirsa."
