John from Wotup already loves Gawyn, he always makes it known Gawyn is his favorite character. He's the only one I know that has that opinion though. Poor Gawyn, he had a hero moment with Egwene only to die a lonely death against Demandred.

I never understood the Min casting, but I hope she can surprise us with her acting. These epic shows are always supposed to hire young so they can still look young a decade later

I watched some of the interviews, and this was one of my favorite. Daniel talks about some of the problems with season 1 and why season 2 will be much better. He talks about better pacing, more breathing room, lots of action, a little darker, and season 2 feeling more complete. He also talks about some of his katana forms. It sounds like he will have some neat sword work at the end of episode 1. Can't wait to see if I agree with his assessment.

Yes, if they hype it up that much they got have some substance to meet the hype.... The article said this is on scale with Cleopatra or Gladiator. That would be amazing if true. Season 1 did royally screw the episode 8 battle, but it did have some good glimpses of action. I would say the closest example would be the pregnant dragonmount scene. I also thought the battle vs Logain's army in the Aes Sedai camp was a little underwhelming... bad CGI, definitely lower production value. So hopefully they really step up the ending this time since it just didn't land with too many viewers last season.

i agree with this video. Most of my friends that tried to watch season 1 didn't even finish the season. I'm hoping season 2 is really good so I can try to convince them to give it another try.

Even though I thought season 1 was about 6.5-7 rating, I'm pretty excited for season 2. Making these kinds of shows isn't easy, and I really hope having the foundation developed for season 1 will make it much easier to build season 2 up. Season 2 is supposed to have one of the biggest battles in television ever. If they are already doing that, it makes me wonder how big the battles in future seasons are (if they make it past season 3). Really hope they dial up the drama between the different characters more amongst all the action. The trailers and the sneak peak all looked pretty good to me. It also looks like the male characters will finally get some moments to shine in season 2, which was a problem in season 1 (other than Logain being a major badass).

Rewatching again, made it through the first 6 episodes. For the most part, I liked this show. Yes it had pacing issues, spending too much time on the wrong character issues, CGI issues, and a few stupid decisions-- but I still enjoyed most of the show. Egwene still shines as one of my favorite characters from the Two Rivers 5. One thing I still don't understand is what is going to happen with Matt. It appears his connection was severed to the dagger, but I honestly have no idea what his role will be in season 2. Season 1 needed a major infusion of charm, sex appeal, and humor to help lighten it up at times. Matt is the perfect antidote for the darkness, so I hope we don't have to watch him get connected to the dagger in season 2. Perhaps his bond to the dagger was never fully severed? I think season 2 should start featuring lots of flirtations and romantic feelings buzzing for some of the younger characters, which didn't really happen much in season 1 other than Nynaeve and Lan. Overall still excited for season 2. Really hoping they can overcome some of the problems that plagued season 1.

The cold openings in WoT season 1 were always pretty good. This is no exception. The trolloc seemed to look a little better in this clip as well. Better CGI is a huge plus. This show has always been able to assemble good clips, but can they put together so many different characters and scenes in a well-scripted manner with good pacing is the real question.
