  1. Actually, the timeline gives a time frame for Rand's birth.  Danu 2-12.

On none of those days does it explicitly tell that Rand was born.

The main series begins Aine 8.  From the midpoint of the time frame, that would be 4 months plus 1 day.  from the end, 4 months minus 4 days, or 3 months plus 24 days.  from the beginning, 4 months plus 6 days.

    Danu, Taisham, Jumara, Saban, Aine.

  2. the exact words were these::

"Mesaana has fallen," Shaidar Haran whispered. "Three Chosen, destroyed by your actions. The design builds, a lattice of failure, a framework of incompetence."

    emphasis mine.

Mesaana I take still lives.  if death, "died" & "killed" I take would have replaced "fallen" & "destroyed"; respectively.  and if death, I take it would have been revealed in Egwene's & Gawyn's discussion right after the fight.

  3. There were other White Tower initiates out of the Tower when it broke; besides Egwene.

One other requirement they mentioned in the discussion was that the person be strong in the Power.  A number of them were as strong as Suian before Suian was severed; and some of them stronger.

Elayne or Nynaeve could have been considered; yet Elayne was soon to become a queen and Nynaeve still had her channeling block around that time.

  4. According to the Encyclopaedia site, Eye of the World chapter 1 is in late spring of 998NE.  They do not yet have a finishing time for Memory of Light; but they tell that the book starts in early summer of 1000NE.

the starscape-only prologue they tell occurs in 991NE.

the Eye of the World prologue takes place some time after the Strike on Shayol Ghul; and I think during the early stages of the Breaking, not entirely sure.

  5.

From which books do the quoted scenes come from?

I have no idea about the printing press.

The Aiel buying books as a priority is from the Shadow Rising after Rhuidean when the clan comes across the Peddler, chapter 37

Moiraine asks Loial about the Forsaken in the Dragon Reborn, chapter 50

I was asking about the ones in the opening post.

  6. The Dragon Reborn cover and a lot of others is actually a really nice picture, but it isn't at all related to WoT. I mean, it has an ACTUAL DRAGON ON IT. And there are some even worse ones than that.

My copy of Dragon Reborn has Rand reaching for Callandor with Perrin & Mat watching from a distance.  I guess you are referring to the French cover.

Once all the trade paperbacks come out with the ebook covers, I'm rebuying all the books. Those covers are great and most of my older mass market paperbacks are in pretty rough shape anyways.

I recall seeing physical Wheel of Time books with e-book covers at a physical store; I think a Barnes & Noble, Colorado Springs, December.  Do not remember all those books, but one was Eye of the World; a portion of them I think were paperback.
