my 3rd time through the series was like yours; it ended with my 1st time through Memory of Light.
not sure if this forum allows fan fiction to be posted.
moderators/administrators would know.
edit:: if it is not allowed, might create a blog and post the chapters there.
also, it might be good to record notes of the scenes the story would cover.
-
there are actually 15 novels in this series if you count the prequel (New Spring).
I read all 15; also the Guide (The World of Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time).
those 2 books may have spoilers.
there are also shorter editions of the first 2 books; published by Starscape. verbatim with the respective "main" books.
the first of those has an extra prologue; and the second of those has extra glossary entries.
each Starscape book covers about half a main series book.
I also read those. no spoilers in those books.
I have a sample of the Companion. I take it has spoilers for whole series.
the prequel I take was originally a novella; I have not read the novella.
part of a multi-story/multi-author book (Legends).
I have a sample of that book; also the other books with same name.
edit:: a number of scenes contain foreshadows (indicators of later scenes), predictions (Foretellings, Viewings, Dreams, etc), and/or pre-series prophecies (Karaetheon Cycle, etc). foreshadows become less frequent in the later books; predictions/prophecies become more frequent.
some foreshadows become predictions, and some predictions are kind of re-peatings of prophecies.

According to the Guide, the Seanchan exotics were gotten within the first 1000 years after the Breaking.
Not sure if the order of events could be different in a Portal Stone world; I would doubt it.
-
some chance of at least some Legends Age technology surviving until that time.
-
I would guess that the contrails predated the Trolloc Wars; and probably also the Breaking.
and I would guess that humanity died off long before Rand/Hurin/Loial got there; since the only human they met was Lanfear/"Selene".
the grolm I take were the only survivors of that world.
the ones to kill off the Trollocs were probably themselves (like Loial speculated) and/or the grolm.
-
like another poster, never "hated" characters.
the characters that seemed to enjoy torturing others were the main ones I disliked.
to bigdoug::
a least some of the things you told about Cadsuane could apply to also Egwene.
Egwene is also powerful; at least in the One Power.
Egwene has stood up to Rand several times.
Egwene seems to have also accomplish her goals.
some readers might interpret Egwene as mysterious/unpredictable.
-
I seem to recall another thread speculating about the thread title.
about Lanfear bringing the grolm, I doubt she could have brought that many and survive; even if she channeled.
I would guess that the grolm were native to that world.

yes, the complete Wheel of Time ebook.
not aware of any other omnibus for this series.
-
finished Memory of Light Sunday morning.
next time through this series would be with the omnibus; currently have a sample of it. might be some time when I get it.

mb, no offence, your posts are always so funny!
how?
about cassettes; they are kind of shaped like a box.
image search:: https://www.google.com/search?q=cassette&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjCxOix36LJAhVR52MKHUk4DeQQ_AUIBygB&biw=1024&bih=622
I take popular until the time of CDs (Compact Discs). and the previous audio storage before cassettes I take was vinyl.
current status; at chapter 26.
-
all audio players I take have a fast forward option. and some I imagine let the listener to control the speed of the audio; at least one kind of cassette player can.
at chapter 25 Perrin's POV; when I started this post.
finished that chapter before editing.
-
finished second time of Towers of Midnight October 30. started first time of Memory of Light November 6; read through chapter 18.
have a sample of the Companion on my Nook. would probably buy the e-book format sometime after printed release; and when I have enough money.
-
finished 3rd time of Gathering Storm some day ago. started 2nd time of Towers of Midnight shortly after. gotten through chapter 33 in current time reading.

rephrased:: how come they did not end up as new residents?
Hinderstamp visitors that do not survive seem to end up as new residents.
-
my last questions repeated::
since Mesaana's mind that of a child, does she remember/know anything from before/during the telaranrhiod fight?
how is it that Mat and his companions survived Hinderstamp?
another question::
the dreamspike at Perrin's camp; was it destroyed or did it return to waking world? if return, where?
-
gotten an email of the original state of your post.
What are those thunderclouds that appear at the beginning of a gathering storm? Who/what controls them, and what do they do? Yes, I need to get spoiled on that one.
those questions seem ok in this thread. the staff of this forum seem to consider Gathering Storm before Memory of Light.
what are they? not entirely sure, but they seem to relate to the odd weather throughout this series.
who/what controls them? I would say the Dark One.
what do they do? for sure darken the sky; and maybe also the mood of various characters.
-
some chance of Tigraine being an exception. she fled to the Waste.
unrelated::
since Mesaana's mind that of a child, does she remember/know anything from before/during the telaranrhiod fight?
how is it that Mat and his companions survived Hinderstamp?

When speaking with Galad (Towers of Midnight Prologue), Asunawa claimed that Galad "drew on the powers of the Shadow" in the fight against Valda. what exactly did Asunawa mean by that comment?
and in the same sentence, Asunawa claimed that Galad stood "in darkness despite the daylight" and that the Dragon's Fang sprouted from Galad's forehead. did Asunawa really see those things or were those comments Asunawa convincing himself?
obviously Asunawa hated Galad. what brought about that hatred?
-
Rand's exact instructions seem uncertain. that scene seemed to be off screen.
Ghealdan and Masema seem to be the main reasons for the trip.
If I remember correctly, Rand conquered Illian and sought Sammael's followers within that time. both seemed to be needed to be done. maybe also fight the Seanchan.
-
I seem to recall somewhere telling that the outriggers were to take place 10 years after the series and that 1 of them focused on Tuon & Mat.
-
about Aviendha's Glass Column visions; only one thing seems certain from them: Aviendha having 4 children.
every else seemed changed when the Aiel were included in the Dragon Peace.
-
finished 3rd time of Knife of Dreams Monday; started 3rd time of Gathering Storm yesterday. am at the Prologue.
-
about the medallions; from what I recall, Elayne never considered passing off a copy as the original. and from what I recall, she was honest about them.
about warders; the forced pre-series bonding seemed to be known to only White Tower initiates. from what I recall, very few of other characters found out about it; and their knowledge of it was directly from Aes Sedia.
-
"dislike" seems more accurate than "hate" for most characters. only Thom seems to hate them; because they gentled his nephew.
though both dislike and hate seem to gradually change throughout the series.
Question About the Forsaken
in Wheel of Time Books
Posted
Balthamel was killed by the Green Man.
Aginor; I do not recall Rand doing anything to him. I think either Aginor taking too much of the One Power or "Baalzamon" doing something.
Baalzamon in the first books was not the Dark One.
Moiraine seemed to remember during her discussions with Suian; Great Hunt. and the "Baalzmon" dreams seem to be remembered by Rand/Perrin/Mat during the 3rd book.
