about Seanchan, I recall some source telling that there are more stedding there than in the main area (between Aryth Ocean and Aiel Waste). I do not remember which source.

her pregnancy (and/or her unborn children) seems to be a Light-sided reason.
a Darkfriend probably would not care about her offspring.
and as far as I recall, there has not been any pregnancy where either parent was a Darkfriend.

I think he meant in the matrix Neo could fly, but in real world he couldn't. In Tar you could make yourself fly etc if you die in the matrix you died in RL, die in Tar and you are dead in RL.
something like that.
5 hours ago, Zorlon said:The Matrix OTOH has no relation to reality, it is whatever it is programmed to be
from first movie, the matrix seemed to be based on the past; at least in architecture.
edit:: if I recall correctly, "matrix's year" was somewhere in the 1990s and the actual year one or two centuries after that.
-
entering the matrix seems similar to entering telaranrhiod.
and the effects in "real world" while there seem equivalent.
-
the matrix to me is more comparable to telaranrhiod than to "Randland".
I posted about it in some thread, but am not sure where the thread is now if it still exists.
-
if I recall correctly, there were other tall humans in the books besides the Aiel.
singing; that could have been something they were taught.
-
not entirely sure, but I think Moiraine was told rather than she coming to the conclusion.
when was she told? I think shortly before her conversasion with Rand.
-
just noticed the thread title. did not notice at the time of my previous post.
like another poster told, "his" refers to the ferryman.
it seems she did not want the ferryman to think about her more than necessary.

chapter 12 of which book?

found out about Stan Lee's death through Disney Movie Club in stuff they mailed to me.
Stan Lee was actually a pseudonym. his real name was Stanley Martin Lieber.
his last cameo in the Marvel movies would be in Spider Man Far From Home.
found out through some site that he had more cameos than in the Marvel movies. I do not remember the site.
edit:: following page: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cameo_appearances_by_Stan_Lee

about Rand's knowledge of the Prophecies; all Two Rivers folk seemed to have some idea of the Prophecies before Moiraine arrived.
he seemed to get a clearer understanding of them in book 2. and he read the actual Prophecies around the beginning of book 4.
-
how good (or how bad) any of the books are; kind of varies between different readers.
me; all of them have seemed good.
-
fan fiction or canon? from looking at their respective Wikipedia pages, it seems that the same production company made both movies; so I take not fan fiction.
canon; all references to the original movie seem to be accurate.
-
gotten the sequel (Mary Poppins Returns) days before my first post in this thread.
some chance that the old man did not die; and that the other bank directors were mistaken.
the sequel had a character that looked similar; that character mentioned several scenes from the first movie.
some chance of those two being the same character.

from what I recall of Memory of Light, fighting Slayer was only part of Perrin's Last Battle time. some of the time he rested, and towards the end he dealt with Cyndane/Lanfear.

The only thing I didn't like about Perrin was his role in the LB. While Mat was directing the battle and Rand was confronting the DO, Perrin was fighting... Slayer?
Slayer needed to be fought; and Perrin seemed to be the main one who knew how.

about Thom knowing the tower's location; have reread the chapter (of the river trip) several minutes ago.
Thom seemed not present when the ship passed by.
edit:: I guess Thom was somewhere below deck at that time.

not sure about distance and subterfuge.
resources/information; Egwene teaches Gateways. and telaranrhiod (initially from Nynaeve and Elayne) helped with information.
safe from local government; they probably could have defended themselves if any army/military attached them.
not sure, but history might have been a reason for Salidar. an Amyrlin from Blue was born there.
-
as far as I recall, Moghedien was in close range of her Compulsion victims.
-
correction:: Lan appears in all 15 books.
-
some book in the series told that Rand's tavereness could cover an entire city.
from my understanding, taveren influence the lives of non-taveren; and the Pattern controls the lives of taveren.
-
I already told which book.
went through this series about 3 complete times and am in my 4th time through (at Eye of the World currently). not sure how I remembered the book.
did not remember the chapter; but from checking the encyclopaedia site, the scene is in chapter 2.
edit::
noticed another difference:
in Borderlands, the prefix is before first name.
in Two Rivers, it proceeds the surname.
-
now remember author's name; P L Travers, pseudonym of Helen Golf.
as far as I recall, Compulsion was never done through any indirect means anytime in this series.
my impression of Mary Poppins was that she tried to make the children ethical; not necessarily try to control them.

Moiraine is for sure a "key" character, but am not sure about she "holding" the series together.
as far as I recall, she is present in prequel through book 5 then reappears towards the end of book 13 and present in book 14.
if I recall correctly, she is mentioned in at least some of books 6 through 12.
the main character of this series seems to be Rand; present in all of the main books, but only mentioned in the prequel.
if I recall correctly, there is no character that appears in all 15 books.
Who does the Dark One work for?
in Wheel of Time Books

with time being a cycle, the Light does not ultimately win either. it is just continuous fighting/battling/etc for both sides.
