  1. as far as I recall, Mary Poppins did not have direct contact with the old man.

from my understanding, Compulsion requires direct contact.

world of dreams; going there seemed to be the children's idea.  and also Bart's.  not Mary's.

and she seemed to not attempt to control them.

time traveller; that seems doubtful to me.

Mary Poppins seems to be an ethical person.

  2. primary source for the Mary Poppins movies I take to be a set of books that are titled "Mary Poppins".  I do not remember the author.

I do not recall her killing anyone.

Light sided Aes Sedia can also kill; not just Black Ajah.

main difference would be killing with the One Power.  Light sided, only when life is threatened or anytime against Shadowspawn/Darkfriends; Black Ajah, anytime against anyone/anything.

  3. another character parallel to Camulod series::

    Galad and Ambrose.

-both had/have 2 sets of half-siblings (Galad, one through mother and two through father; Ambrose, one through either parent)

-at least one half-sibling having magic (Galad, 2 of his 3; Ambrose, just 1)

-at least one half-sibling being a leader (Galad, all 3; Ambrose, just 1)

    -both gaining a leadership role

by the way, not sure if "Ambrose" was how the series spelled his name.

  4. awhile ago read Camulod chronicles; I think several years ago.  borrowed from a relative and afterward returned.

similarities between Plubius Varrus and Perrin Aybara::

    -both are/were blacksmiths.

-both made a sort-of magical weapon.

-2 women romantically interested with both;  one married to respective player, other kind of a tempter.

    -both became leaders.

    -both killed people.

edit::  not sure if Plubius Varrus is spelled correctly.

  5. moral values change all the time?  at least Christianity seems to be an exception.  Christianity's morality seems to be unchanged since its founding.

Romeo & Juliet; not sure if 4 to 7 years difference would be pedophilia.  if he is 18-20 years and if she is 13-14 years.

too young or too old for the other would probably be if the age difference was 13 or more years.

though their age difference might have been closer than 4 to 7 years.

  6. In Chapter 5 of Crossroads of Twilight, Perrin says that Sebban Balwer has explained the Broken Crown to him. But if so, that explanation took place outside of the books. I don't remember that particular conversation anywhere.

the scene tells that it was something Elyas let slip.  the scene tells nothing else about the Broken Crown.

  7. Cadsuane wanting things to be handled as they were handled in the past?  throughout the series, Cadsuane seemed to handle things differently than others.

Cadsuane's main want has seemed to be people to have good manners.

just to be sure, who are the 7?

  8.

trollocs; found the scene last night.

Shadow Rising; at the Stone, after Rind picked up Callandor from his room.

do not recall it happening to any human character.

In book 3, when the girls are kidnapped and knocked unconscious, they wake and proceed the kill the Myrdraal that arranged it...Horrible death..He was simultaneously burned from the inside out, crushed to the size of a basketball, and balefired.

went through that scene last night.    the internal combustion affected just the 3 myrddraal; the humans were already killed by the Aiel.

Balthamor and Aginor are trapped "near the surface of the Bore" and thus are affected by time, becoming extremely aged, etc.

But Ishamael, who is only partially caught when the Bore is sealed, does not appear to be ravaged with age.

    Why the difference?

    some possibilities besides channeling strength::

-Ishamael's use of the True Power; not entirely sure on that.

-some kind of protection from the Dark One; not sure what that protection would be.

  9. Rand could have used Gateways to communicate.  and the visions could help locate the others; so Perrin could describe the places to his Ashamen.

or each 3 could have had written messages when the others were watching them; then again, they would have needed to be aware of such watching.

  10. about the encyclopaedia site; the whole site I take is updated through Towers of Midnight.  the chapter summaries are updated through chapter 4 of Memory of Light.

Steven Cooper's timeline has info for the prequel through Gathering Storm; and much of Gathering Storm's events have question marks for the dates.

the only WOT info site that seems to be "fully" updated (through Memory of Light) seems to be Thirteenth Depository.  http://13depository.blogspot.com/

  11. the Rand POV I was referring to was Path of Daggers Chapter 14.

    from the paragraph::

[Rand] had asked once, warily, where he knew the answers would be true, how to cleanse the taint from saidin. And got a riddle for answer. Herid Fel had claimed the riddle stated "sound principles, in both high philosophy and natural philosophy," but he had not seen any way to apply it to the problem at hand. Had Fel been killed because he might have puzzled out the riddle? Rand had a hint at the answer, or thought he might, a guess that could be disastrously wrong. Hints and riddles were not answers, yet he had to do something. If the taint was not cleansed somehow, Tarmon Gai'don might find a world already ruined by madmen. What had to be done, had to be done.

not sure if Rand heard anything while he was being Healed from the dagger cut.

if I remember correctly, those scenes (dagger cut, Healing) were Min POVs.

after Rand woke up, few comments were made about the cut/Healing.  and shortly after that, Rand went to fight Sammael.

not sure if Rand discussed the cut/Healing with anyone before the scene I quoted.

    the encyclopaedia site says this::

Rand once asked the question of how to cleanse saidin.3 The answer he got was a riddle that Herid Fel said stated "sound principles, in both high philosophy and natural philosophy." Rand thinks he knows the answer.4

    3. Of the Aelfinn during his trip through the twisted red doorway. (TSR,Ch15)
    4. The riddle is never made clear, but the application of the answer is revealed in WH,Ch35.

    http://encyclopaedia-wot.org/books/tpod/ch14.html

  12. not sure about the dagger cut from Fain causing the Cleansing of saidin.  some Rand POV tells that the Aelfinn gave him an answer about that; and that he discussed it with Herid Fel.  and I am not sure if the Healing of that cut was discussed with Rand in detail; Rand was unconscious while that Healing was taking place.

the Aelfinn answer and the mentioned discussion/discussions might have been enough for Rand.  and/or Rand could have come up with the method through any number of means.

forgot to tell in last post that one more thing was predicted.

a Viewing told that one of the collared Aes Sedia was going to be rescued.

  13. a portion of those things seem to be predicted in earlier scenes.

the dagger was predicted in a Viewing; I think several chapters before he took it.

Egwene Dreamed him meeting an Illuminator; also him rescuing her in Tear.

the Aelfinn told that he should go to Rhuidean; also predicted several other things.

  14. about Mat's quarterstaff, one reason we have not seen those skills before could be that he has not had access to one before.

to dexterryu::  some of the things in your analogy seem to be inaccurate.  priest; Jesus needing help.

from my understanding, Christianity's clergy are elders/deacons/pastors; not priests.

and from my understanding, Jesus would not need anyone's help.

not sure if any real life religion would tell that kind of info regardless of it being true or not.  Christianity; the Bible tells different.

  15. Rand & Egwene did not really know each other anymore?  from what I recall of their scenes together, they seemed to know each other at least partly; also when they mentioned the other in discussions with others.

and their core seemed to stay the same regardless of the changes they went through.

edit::  from what I recall from the series, few characters' core seemed to change.  Fain being the main one.

  16. Egwene being Rand's wife was actually an experience inside that terangreal; not a dream/Dream.  that terangreal pretty much shows what the person is afraid of; both scenes of this terangreal tell that.  other scene was in Great Hunt; Nynaeve.

Egwene's experiences inside the terangreal could have any number of interpretations; she having a hard time letting Rand go could be accurate.

about they happening; there is some foreshadowing in them.
