  1. Hero Andros, Former Light Faction Leader Alive and still kicking.
  2. I came into the show with very low expectations. Why? Because it is a massive fantasy being adapted to a TV show. Even if it had been a movie I would have been leery because high fantasy does not translate to screen very well, and everyone is going to want an absolute faithful adaptation. LOTR is a great example, because all these years later you still have people complaining it wasn't a shot for shot reproduction despite being a massive success and quite frankly paving the way for something like WoT to happen. Have I been disappointed in what I've seen? In many regards, yes. But this is absolutely an adaptation, and it has been clearly laid out that this is not the 3rd age we all know. It is a completely different turning, and thus things will be different. Overall I've liked what they have done, even with some of the odder changes and choices that they have made. I'm also watching it with my spouse, who I spent YEARS trying to get them to read the books and they simply could not get out of the Two Rivers. They love the series, and I love that they do. It being accessible is exactly what the fandom needs. I do my best to stay away from spoilers, and not react too much to the changes, but inevitably we discuss how that episode or the season overall played out in the books and in doing so it's allowed me to see and understand why some of the changes were made. TLdr: No adaptation will make everyone happy, it's impossible. As readers we must understand this isn't the story we know, or even the characters we know. It's a new turn, a portal world if you will. In the end it keeps WoT, and high fantasy in general. relevant in a world overrun by subpar literature.
  3. I already told them they really should have brought out some better chairs. This kinda stiff wood might work for the youngens around here, or naughty novices, but those of us they dragged from the pensioners quarters are used to better.
  4. Kara, and Nyn!? Those are both names I know! They're just dragging everyone out of retirement aren't they?
  5. *Chases after Elgee, sending threads of air to slow her down.* Well you'll just have to come along and find out. By the time you have you're answer you'll be thinking of the Mistress of Novice's rooms quite fondly.
  6. *Eyeing Elgee and smirking* Don't you go worrying yourself too much, this old wolf still has fangs.
  7. @Elgee now why did I never think of dosing you with forkroot! That would have solved so many problems, and a few before they began.
  8. *Far roo busy wiping pie off of his face to have noticied the rest of the going ons around here.* Now just what other plans do you think you have for me? I have you know I am very respectable kind of person and I will not be bound up in any shenanigans. *nods firmly, if a little unbelivably.*
  9. Oh for the love of...Digging into the Way Back Machine for that one!
  10. @LilyElizabeth Pleasure to meet you, and really that sounds like the best kind of escapades to get up to. @Wayward_fool I do remember you as this bright eyed little aspie. Fairly certain you were around when I was crowned the Blue's Warder, and when I received the Bluest Blue Helmeet from Mo.
  11. Is it charming? *Striking a very Warder pose he flashed an exceptionally charming smile.* Now as for those ponderous pies...*Licking his lips he still smiled sweetly.* Please?
  12. A gold crown! *sputters with indignation* Blasphemy. I remember when pies were freely shared foe the joy of it. But, hypothetically, what can one get for a smile and pure gratitude?
  13. You play a dangerous game bringing pies around. And for silver? *Pat's around his belt and pockets.* Uhm, right. I know I've some coins around here somewhere...I think.
  14. *Following that all too alluring scent* Now just wait a Ligjt blasted minute. Did someone say pie!?!
  15. *Eyes Elgee doubtfully* You expect me to believe anyone around here is uncorrupted? And here I thought the taint was supposed to make men go mad.
  16. @Cairos it's been a looong time indeed. Still getting my bearings around here, and cleaning out a few cobwebs. But I figure I'll try and stick around and sew what's what.
  17. You know I'm just gonna say it: BT bond - Rand and Lanfear
  18. At least Ikept my sigs small. I will also neither confirm nor deny that there were a few raids that set out specifically to crash DM, especially after their big move all those years ago.
  19. I mean other than crashing the servers? Matter of fact I'm fairly certain the BT by itself practically killed DM a time or two.
  20. Ah Raids...those were the good ol' days weren't they?
  21. You know this is a pretty far cry from the pensioners quarters. Not nearly enough chairs...and none of them are fluffy!
