  1. Same here, in all honestly. My brain just doesn't appear to appear quite work in the same way as most other people's. I've read a lot over my life (don't really read very much any more, I have the attention span of a gnat these days) and the text just has been inserted into my brain any which way. I never know if some cheesy swords and sorcery snark is going to come out or something from Jane Austin or Sir Walter Scott. Learning a second language has not helped anything. Pretty sure my ability to speak English is atrophying a lot quicker than my ability to speak Dutch is improving.
  2. Lol, you must have been disappointed. It sounds more interesting than it is, hehe. Thanks for the compliment, but not sure using weird-ass words is directly equivalent to intelligence *grins*
  3. So time to start the girding of loins and other body parts.
  4. Sorry that was a herculean effort to get the text to turn red for some reason. I meant to add, I agree 🙂
  5. The tortoise is confusing but I guess it is meant to represent a turtle... Ah Cass got in before me. Capt. Jack Sparrow
  6. We'll go characters as well, if anyone is still awake.
  7. Lol, what? Overthink? What is this thing you speak of? I must devote the grey matter to ponder this concept more.
  8. That is very unfortunate. I was thinking Beach Boys but cannot think of a title that would fit. Surfin' USA does not seem to tick all the boxes. Is the bikini a different item or just a continuation of the theme? It's not even an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini, which would have made it easier, to be fair. Under the broadwalk? Really have no idea.
  9. I'd say that looks like NYC, but you would be the expert, Turin.
  10. Always thinking of your meme game, Zander has taught you well 🙂
  11. Aw shucks, thank you 🥰 Though building a plausible narrative, isn't the same as being right, or of being able to convince anyone. Indeed, in some ways I think the feeling of responsibility if you do convince or sway people is pretty heavy. This is going to be odd though, trying to guess the odd one out, but not who the wolf is, but who the townie is. At least there is no pressure on trying to get it right. I suppose at least if we get it wrong then it is all over mercifully quickly.
  12. I love your optimism 😄 I feel like I am getting a better understanding of my ignorance rather than the game.
  13. I'm getting the feeling this isn't a very typical game to help us new players learn. But it could be a kind of crash course in the themes involved? Betrayal, sabotage, in-fighting, nervous breakdowns, that kind of thing?
  14. True, I realised only after posting that I was only talking to those left alive. It was just a thought - perhaps I'm odd but I find turning a problem over in my mind relaxing. I'm all out of jokes so I thought a bit of rumination might help others relax. I'll try though. Knock knock. Who's there? Interuppting cow. Inter... MOOOO!
  15. Aside from my personal antithapy, I can see that it would be a problem in areas where there are racial tensions, particularly in the US, especially in face to face games. Allowing anyone to weaponise the term either because they are racist or have a strange idea of humour, I think would be terrible. In this kind of international and impersonal setting, I think it is fine. Not to say if someone says they find it uncomfortable that a mod should not enforce it, but I don't think it should be banned. The way people mix and match as much different terminology as possible, it would be difficult to stop, even for me. It is interesting that Turin characterises it as mob justice, I think ever since my namesake Judge Lynch started lynching people for sectarian reasons, not racial if I'm not mistaken, it has been a byword for mob injustice. Though I guess that is what Turin means.
  16. I was looking up some of the acronyms used here and came across a list of unused ones due to being L-word based. A little digging could not find much about it on that site but did fins an old reddit discussion about whether the lynch is really appropriate in such a game given it's connotations of racial violence. Obviously I would be quite happy not to see the word lynch everywhere, but what do you guys think?
  17. I shall uphold the honour of the Reds by visiting terrible vengeance against the Blue Horde and the hideous Battleship massacre. But I'm going to bed now, to dream of howling wolves.
  18. I know, I meant in the two following nights, presuming the game lasts that long.
  19. Awful lonely in this big spaceship with so few people and so many wolves.
  20. The wolves would already have taken care of Shad. Verb hits another Townie and it is 2 dead, not 1.
