  1. What is it with people assuming that they speak for "most" of the fanbase. I thought the whole Salidar thing was a bit drawn out. While Suian is a master politician, she is also very young for an Aes Sedai in the books. Another Blue could be promoted, Leane could be revealed as Suian's campaign manager, Moiraine could advise her in the dream... Given the short screentime available it seems unlikely that this plot would be hugely developed. Plus the whole stilling story-line relies heavily on internal pov, how would you film what she was experiencing? Having Suian die at the coup makes sense, when you have so much to prune. Whatever they do with things like Salidar, they cannot have the original cast of thousands for story lines that are only going to take up a few scenes. There will need to be a pro-Egwene faction and two opponents. Easy enough to find a mentor for her who can double up with another role (such as one of the informal council that was in charge as Suian could not be one of them as she was stilled). Also removing her removes the need to devote screen time to the relationship with Moiraine, or be criticised for not doing so.
  2. That is quite a lot of voting for a game that hasn't as such started yet...
  3. That is so not my experience of NPCs, lol. Always got me annoyed when they would sell you stuff for a hundred gold and then buy it back for 1 gold especially in things like Diablo when you were literally travelling into demon-infested dungeons to save their village but they cannot sell that shield you sold by mistake back to you except at a 10x mark up. Ooo, and mobs that fight you in a full suit of armour with two huge axes and then drop a rusty penknife when they die, sooo annoying lol. I'm sure they have done skits on those already.
  4. Well we were trying to get the Air Temple before Kevin sidetracked us so maybe we should just get on with getting our masteries of the elements before we settle down to a 9 to 5? I think we are too young to settle down, no matter how great a steady reliable life with Kevin sounds.
  5. I just though we should be able to vote for other people than Lenlo. Seems a flaw in the game if you can't. *shrugs*
  6. You have to vote for Lenlo? That seems unfair, even to me.
  7. You have to vote for Lenlo? That seems unfair, even to me.
  8. That is worrying. The whole twitter thing thing is after my time, that means I'm generationally out of date. Maybe that means I'm cool again though? Yeah, didn't think so.
  9. And the rest is history with all these peeps coming back to play with you. (giggitty)
  10. I have never heard such a wolfy suggestion. Obvious ploy. I really am, lol, in the Shayol Ghul org. Unfortunately activity remains an issue (as in there is none whatsoever at the moment) , but it is good to take a stand against the puny humans of the other factions and show one's devotion to Lily, the Dark One herself.
  11. Since Z isn't playing, who is going to start the fake-but-not-fake argument on D1 now?
  12. It was the most awesome show ever. And the theme song! But I'll let you get back to your serious discussion. I know nothing about anime, sawwy.
  13. Obviously, Dogtanian and the Muskahounds... ...I'll get my coat.
  14. 5 investigate the humming Spirit shard in the well again. Someone threw it in there for a reason...but it does help our little Flickerling, so...

  16. I think we cannot avoid the well. It is our destiny to fall down it.
  17. Whether someone enjoys the show or not does not come down to a discussion of fine details. We can discuss such things as the appearance of the special effects and that is totally different from whether you enjoy it or not. To try to give an example, I recently was looking up the first description of Berelain for a sketch I was going to do (which was a disaster, sadly) and she first appears in the final paragraphs of tDR. She turns up with a letter from Lanfear for Moiraine. Now Moiraine is a political expert, surely knows that Berelain is in the Stone, surely knows her general description, Berelain is a most remarkable figure, and she is wearing the actual coronet of the First of Mayene. And Moiraine asks her "and who are you, child?" I feel a lot of the criticisms of the show are like taking this and then saying "see? This is objectively bad writing, which means Jordan is a bad writer, which means the books should be taken off the shelves and deleted from ebook libraries."
  18. Of course we all have our own opinions. I'm not dismissing something because it is subjective, merely pointing that out. What I mean is the difference between actively wanting the show cancelled and not liking it yourself. Especially if you anchor that desire for it to be cancelled on how much you love the books. Because why is that more important than people who also love the books and are enjoying the show? It seems to me to be the opposite of agreeing to disagree, if you see what I mean. I'm not undermining your opinion of the show or questioning your love of the books, I'm only pointing out they are not more valid than any other fan.
  19. It is worse when you live in the Netherlands and your kids swear with a pronounced Scottish accent. Makes the claim "I have no idea where they heard that" more difficult to pull off plausibly.
