  1. NFC looks a little more solid. Saints are strong in the South, Philly in the East, and most likely the Vikings in the North. West will come down to the Rams continuing to win and then taking their second game against Seattle at home. The Hawks are probably in the decline with the O-line deficiencies catching up.

  2. I don't have anything spicy to add to the current standings tbh. Jacksonville will probably pass up the Titans in the AFC South. uhh.... yeah that's all I've got.

That wouldn’t surprise me. Their defense will keep them in games with anyone, though their downfall is ultimately going to be Bortles unless he suddenly just gets it.

The AFC West is sort of surprising. The Broncos lack of offense is a continuation of last season but I think Lynch is gonna be taking over soon so we’ll see. The Chiefs are probably gonna buckle after starting 5-0 and then losing 3 of the next 4. The Raiders might come surging back to take the division.

It’ll be interesting to see what shakes out between NE and Buffalo in the east. They still have to play each other twice in the final stretch.

  3. Lynch is either a genius and I failed to recognize it without closer consideration, or I’m giving them way more credit than they deserve and this is just a knee jerk reaction to going 0-8 with both of your QBs sucking

But really, this move has a ton of implications. The team is still bad enough that getting a new QB doesn’t suddenly make you a contender, and you get a real view on a guy who theoretically would be one of the big QB free agents before that happens. If he works out, and you still hold a top 3 pick, you can sign him and then use that draft capital to reel in a team that wants to sell the future for a Darnold/Rosen/etc pick. Or you can just let him walk and then still get the pick of the litter amongst QB prospects in the draft. Or sign him and still draft a QB. Really a ton of options.

  4. Okay, initial reaction aside, this wasn't such a bad move by the 9ers. Jimmy isn't going to step in and suddenly take them out of contention for a top 1-2 pick this upcoming draft (unless he's Joe Montana and Steve Young wrapped up into one) and thus they basically get a free 8-week test run on the guy before his contract expires. They can then decide to either pay up or let him walk, and all they lose is a future 2nd rounder they wouldn't have normally had anyway. (I learned afterwards that they had two 2nd round picks for 2018)

And this is why, ladies and gents, you do your research before blabbering on the internet lol

  5. This is about as bad as the Osweiler deal. You’re a rebuilding team with 5 years to prove yourself and you trade away a future 2nd rounder for an unproven backup with an expiring rookie contract? Idiots. If you wanted to sell out $$$ for a QB why not wait for Cousins to hit the market and the end of this season? He’s at least proven and has history with Shanahan.

  6. I grew up in Texas during the height of the Cowboys championship run, so I fell towards them and have stuck with it since. Even through the Quincy Carter years.

Living in San Diego now I’ve tried to open up to the Chargers as a local, but you know how that goes  it’s hard to even casually root for a team that has such an awful front office and wanted so badly to move to a new city that doesn’t even care about the original team that moved back there.

  7. God I’m an idiot.

My kicker is on a Bye this week, so naturally I go hit up the wire for a new one to replace him.

The kicker (get it) is that I forgot about this and didn’t check my lineup to swap in the new guy. He’s playing tonight  so far 7 points I’ll leave on my bench in exchange for zilch.

  8. I think the winner of the AFC West has a good shot of making it to the conference championship, and they’re likely to have two teams in the playoffs. Houston is really picking up steam. 57 points??? That’s video game numbers. NE will get their act together, the offense is good so long as Brady doesn’t keel over and Bill will get the defense in shape before long.

Steelers/Pats/Texans/Broncos (probably) are my week 4 division winner picks.

NFC is tougher. The east could legitimately be any of three teams. The south is likely gonna be Atlanta unless Jones/Sanu don’t heal quickly and Ryan doesn’t get his groove back. Even then, Carolina is still tough and the Bucs are looking solid. The West is garbage and would be hilarious if the Rams somehow won it. The north by default is probably going back to the Packers with Minnesota losing Cook for the year and the Lions struggling on offense. It’s anyone’s game, really.
