My other thought was that Verb had something to do with picking the beta testers and grabbed a bunch of mafia players (regardless of recent activity, hence the Zander) and active Social Group members.

Well, I finished it in under a week (had to actually go to work and be a responsible adult for most of that time).

There was one particular point that had me literally sit up straight and exclaim aloud "OH $@#% YEAH!!!!!!"

Great book.  I had to pop onto 17th Shard for the first time in about 4 years to lurk in some of the discussion threads.  And then proceeded to do a full reread of all 3 Stormlight Archive books.  And then start back at Mistborn 1 just for grins.  I wanted to read Bands of Mourning before I get to Arcanum Unbounded (because I was told there would be spoilers).

Teleportation is totally not silly (and is always the super power I'd prefer to have).

If I had to pick something silly, i'd pick the ability to talk to cats.

Not to sound pompous or anything (ok, maybe a little), but I'm an easygoing guy who makes friends easily because I don't let many things bother me and I have a long fuse in dealing with people.

 

Maybe more of society should be like me.  ;-)  There would be less jerks running around, less fighting, less violence, and a TON more Spidey meme and Family Guy jokes.

I just got contacts for the first time since 2001.

I also haven't had an eye exam since 2000.  I probably wouldn't have gotten around to it this year except my glasses broke right before I needed to leave for work on Tuesday, and my hand was forced.

Apparently I'm officially old and need bifocals.

My favorite thing about autumn is that it FINALLY starts cooling down at night in Phoenix, to where I might actually get a tiny bit chilly if I go outside after dark in short sleeves.  Maybe.  By November I might need a light sweater.

I am planning to rewatch the entire season probably on Saturday, and I'll definitely plan to give my top 10 afterwards

July was far, far too quiet... so the Tainted Times took a month off to let you all catch up.
