Thanks for the plug! New post very soon hopefully...and they should move a little more quickly after that. I plan to be done by September or October or so. Pace will pick up in May after I graduate.

I started my re-read more than a year ago, and it's amazing how much new information I picked up along the way. I made a point of going slowly, which is why I'm just now beginning ToM. I'm behind the curve, but no regrets. I started reading WoT in 1992, and I'm in no hurry to see its conclusion.

I have been in my re-read since I finished the latest wot installation. I am now coming to the end of the Gathering Storm. I love how Egwene really comes into her own as the true Amyrlin. Elaida gets carried off by the Seanchan! "Suffa will be a good Damane" I have never had such a weird mix of horror, happiness and pity. What a great series! I am sure I will re-read the series at least 1 more time before the final book comes out. I await with mixed emotions because I don't want it to end! :):(

If I might add, the Ogier reread is concentrating largely on the differences in opinion and obsevations between a first read through, and a reread. I am providing the review, along with insight to my thoughts the first time through. Sometimes a challenge since this is my 9th reread.

I reread the entire series in 10 weeks prior to the release of A gathering storm. I have to say it was so awesome to just go from book to book. I have been reading this series for so long now it is ingrained into my life.

I also agree with Gareth's post about the finality of a final book but I guess that is what it means eh?

I've been reading WoT since the early 90s and it really feels more like research than reading for pleasure. I've read most of the later books a couple of times, but the early books at the most I've read only once or twice. I just started reading EotW again a few weeks ago. What a difference! I cant believe how young Rand is, you can almost see the hay in his hair lol. And I always thought that the animosity towards Aes Sedai was something that built as the series went along, woops, Aes Sedai are synonomous with Dark Friends from the start. Padan Fain, one of my favorite characters, has a whole conversation with Rand in Baerlon and at no time does Rand try and rip out his throat with his bare hands!

I'm not sure if I'm down for a series reread, I don't think I have the time to spare these days, but it's great getting to go back to the beginning with the final act on deck. Sandersen has done a great job picking the series up and giving it the spark that it needed to carry it to the finish line, no disrespect to the Master meant. Can't wait for AMoL when we find out that the War between Bela and Narg has been going on through endless ages!

I am in the same place, The Wheel of Time is ingrained in my life as well... Started the umpteenth re-read in December, going slow this time, trying to pick up anything missed.. can it be? :-)

I desparately hope there will be more WoT books (you all know what I mean) after AMoL.. I don't know what it will be like to not have a WoT book to look forward to, and devour when it comes out!

I'm doing "my final reread" (as in, the last reread I anticipate doing due to a new WoT book being released).

It should save me quite a bit of money as I'm banning myself from buying any comics while I do the reread unless I meet the following schedule:

I meant to add. The last reread I did was for The Gathering Storm. I've managed to avoid reading Towers of Midnight yet, as I didn't want to do a reread in 2010 after only finishing my last reread in October 2009.

It's been 16 months since I read a Wheel of Time book, so I can more fully appreciate them :)

Well while Elayne, Aviendha, & Min bonding Rand was good, I'd have to say my Favorite scene in Winter's Heart was the Cleansing of Saidin! By far Rand & Nyneave linked together at Shadar Logath cleansing the taint while everyone else was having the battle of their lives (Before Tarmon Gai'don) was raging w/ 1 of the forsaken. AWESOME!!

A huge battle Raging and then it just ends in a whimper and a simple "It's Clean" nothing more nothing less. I imaging that Tarmon Gai'don will be similar. HUGE MASSIVELY EPIC BATTLE and in the end just a whimper of a It's Done in the end. No hoopla no speeches, just the wheel turns and will continue to turn.

I have read and re-read the WoT series probably about 5 times now, i am currently working my way through ToM, and i am loving how Brandon Sanderson has picked up probably one of the most intense and complicated series that i have read and ran with it, he is doing a marvellous job of finishing off the series. i have been an avid fan of Jordan and the WoT series since 2001, and i cannot wait to find out what the future holds for the Two Rivers Crowd. I have two favourite characters in the books which are Mat and Perrin, i love Mat's attitude and Perrin's ability to talk to wolves. As soon as i am done with ToM i will go back and do another re-read from scratch.
