And it came to pass in those days, as it had come before and would come again, that the Dark lay heavy on the land and weighed down the hearts of men, and the green things failed, and hope died. And men cried out to the Creator, saying, O Light of the Heavens, Light of the World, let the Promised One be born of the mountain, according to the prophecies, as he was in ages past and will be in ages to come. Let the Prince of the Morning sing to the land that green things will grow and the valleys give forth lambs. Let the arm of the Lord of the Dawn shelter us from the Dark, and the great sword of justice defend us. Let the Dragon ride again on the winds of time.

From Charal Drianaan te Calamon, The Cycle of the Dragon. Author unknown, the Fourth Age)

@Ryrin: Me too, me too. But would you not agree that it is in the spirit of the Wheel of Time to face endings such as these with "spears held high"?

On January 8th, Rand Al'Thor will travel to Shayol Ghul and break the seals, and I intend to be there with him (yea, I'm unhealthily into this series ). =)

This news is exciting and I look forward to reading some of it! There is only one thing I am concerned about AMOL! About five or six months ago you could go on dragonmount or amazon and read the synopsis or the book description on the dust jacket of AMOL. My question and concern is what happened to the synopsis? Is TOR going to leave this off the cover? I think it would make the book better if they left it on the cover. If dragonmount could shed some light on this I would like to know about it! And please do not screw up AMOL TOR!!

Sure, I'd love for you to spoil the book for me once a day for the next month and a half. That way, when I finally get to read the whole thing, it won't be half as enjoyable! Thanks Tor!
