Just a quick post:

battle, brother to/of (n.) – gaidin (Aes Sedai word for Warders)

What is the origin of the word 'gaidin'?: Gaidal Cain.

 Oh that's interesting. Didn't notice that.

This is just my idea (but I cannot imagine that nobody else saw that 'connection').

kind of long ago, there was a connection in my mind between Giadal Cain and giadin; though I did not post it anywhere.

not sure what my connection was; nor do I remember when that connection occurred.

kind of makes sense.  Giadal Cain was a fighter; and Warders at times fight.

See the connection between them (B and GC). Oh, and I hope that you will recall your connection!

B=Birgitte?

GC=Gaidal Cain?

I think my connection was actually more of a question.  did know that gaidin meant "brother to battle".  was wondering the meaning of Gaidal; never found out (though I did not ask anywhere).
