I guess I kind of feel like BFG doesn't really have a presence this game, but I can't recall what her previous town game was exactly like towards this point in the game so I can't really say I'm confident in this read, but I'm leaning town contrary to popular opinion

The BFG thing was because I remembered BFG voted celeste but it wasn't accounted for and somehow my brain just took off with it, but yeah that's how I feel anyway

Hallow's potential soft claim D1 was really gross, and unwarranted. But it doesn't mean she actually had a claim. And trying to dig it out of you feels remarkably close to fishing.

 

If she had a role, what's your endgame here, Nolder? Do you think she's scum because of the soft claim? If so, do you have any other reasons to back that up with?

If she has a role it should come out into the open for all to judge.

 

I believe soft claiming, hinting, breadcrumbing, etc is either always scummy or ineffective.

You have to assume while doing these things (as town) that the people you don't want to catch on will catch on which 99% of the time defeats the entire purpose in the first place.

And that other 1% is very rarely worth the risk in the first place.

 

As scum...well it's obvious why scum would want townies to think they have a role.

I personally ignore soft claims. They are one of 3 things.

 

1. A VT thing to draw a kill.

2. An actual power role setting up a reveal if necessary in the future.

3. Scum trying to appear town.

 

2 of these 3 scenarios are town, and going after someone for this reason alone isn't towny.

 

1) She's not going to be drawing a kill. They can choose between an IC, a cop, and a vig.

 

2) Then she outed herself for absolutely no reason early in the game. This is doubtful.

 

3) This is the most likely imho.

 

 

Shes not going to draw a kill.....without anyone claiming Doc this could make her being killed quite likely

Ok I looked at each vote really quick. 

None of them have a lot of meat to them so it's hard to say.

If I had to choose 1 wolf on my train it would be Calder.

Alanna I recall being pretty cool earlier in the game so she's probably fed up with me.

Sooh starting my train is practical, I've been inactive and unhelpful.

 

I don't know what Calder's angle is so that's why I'm picking him out.

He doesn't seem like the type to care about inactives or wanting to eliminate them early so why he's on my train is odd to me.

Have you played with Hallia before? Why is soft-claiming scummy from Hallia? What about the rest of her play? I can understand a soft claim making you feel worse about someone you're already feeling bad about, but not that being the only reason you feel bad about something, can you explain?

Small thing but I don't like that Shad said we earned a free lynch.

We don't know why there was no kill and either way mislynches are always bad.

Day 1 is usually viewed as a crapshoot because there is no prior info to go on but after that mislynches are never acceptable imo.

Just rubs me the wrong way it's not necessarily scummy although I could see a mafia saying this.

I don't like that this is a question. It leaves you wondering whether Shad is for or against it. You think it implies he's against it but you're just applying tone to text. There is no real tone here. Taken at face value he is looking for someone else to justify this instead of taking a stance himself.

My vote was counted, I unvoted when I saw the claim and my phone couldn't keep up with the thread, you've always asked me about this.

Relaxed below, I'm pretty sure I've also used the word happier after I looked at your first few points in WITD. I quoted your first few posts from 3 games I vaguely remember. In one you were obv town, in one you're mafia and the one we played together you were town but I had a hard time reading you at the start of the game and sheeped Key.

In the game I've seen since you came back you were less enthusiastic/relaxed and town, so I'm trying to read you without meta since I don't have any valid mafia meta for you.

Regarding aggressive, I wouldn't say this is particularly aggressive but you're not the only person to think this so it is what it is. I'm more direct than I have been in recent games, but while my town game has a fair amount of range to it, I am always passive as mafia, I don't make enemies, I don't case, I don't do much of anything really, I don't interact much in thread, I'll catch up (either WoT or post by post depending on how I feel) and I'll ask the ~same questions I do as town, but the conclusions, read development are lacking. In Matrix Clov recognises this (passiveness when mafia) and ~clears me for it despite basically being absent for the first week the game played. I don't see any way I ever 'come at' Zander if I'm mafia, because of his propensity to OMGUS (as either alignment) and tunnel, and he can outpost me 10 times over and get me lynched pretty much whenever he wants, so I probably don't want to draw his attention when mafia.

My read on you basically stems from the fact that in my head you're an enthusiastic player who gets highly involved and is ~good at faking it when mafia (at least the only game I remember you as mafia in you swept against a town that had very strong players in, some of whom had decent experience playing with you). So this game, your posts are good, but then early on you went absent for quite a while (comparatively speaking - it was less than a day in reality, just a lot of posting inbetween) and I'm having difficulty shaking the uhoh feeling I had from it, that's then coupled with the tonal change from the last game we played and you were town. You're not in my POE at the moment, but leaving you out is making me all sorts of nervous.

Asking questions isnt NECESSARILY scum hunting or pushing.  Hence why I wanna see quotes and the reasons those quotes make you feel this way.
