@Kiv - I see the benefit in posting both, and think it's pretty important

 

In a normal game, where there may be a doc and scum have to balance the risk of shooting the obvious target against the possibility that the doc will protect that same "obvious target", sure. Especially if you have a standard cop who may end up clearing 2 or 3 townies when they reveal, making one "consensus townie" a hell of a lot less important to kill than an unrevealed power role.

 

We have no doc.  Naming consensus townies doesn't create a WIFOM for scum, and it doesn't make them weigh any risks.  It just says "please kill this person, because if they survive to a 3 person endgame, town wins".  And we have only a 1x cop, so at best we're going to be either down 1 scum or up 1 townie when the cop reveals (and unless that's at endgame, scum will simply kill them in the ensuing nights), so there's no reason for scum not to kill the consensus townies.

 

Am I really the only one who sees this?

Ok, at this point I think I have Thane, Seph and (oddly) Talya as town leans. So I guess it's time to reread.

 

Kivam, I see what you're saying about not stating town reads, but I work via POE as much as anything else, so not stating town reads means I'm not going to be posting much of anything by means of an actual solve.

 

Thank you.  Somebody gets it.  It's one thing to say "I see the risk but it's worth it".  It's something else entirely to say "of course we should hand the scum a prioritized kill list.  Why wouldn't we?"

 

 

@Kivam - regarding activity, why pick out Hallia and Tina specifically at that point? Laine had one post, why leave her off your list

 

Because I've played with her before, and modded games with her in them before, and she doesn't stick in my head as a player who lurks as a general rule.  Hallia and Tina do.

False. Pretty sure I used to lurk as mafia, but not as town. Since I've come back I'm doing a lot better keeping things pretty even though lol

 

 

 

 

 

So what's your opinion of Shad town reading you for it?

 

Scummy as hell.  One of the major reasons (along with the push on Seph and a few other things of note) that I parked my D1 vote there. 

 

My personal 3-deep willing to lynch pile is Shad, Dice, and Seph.

 

Can you talk to me about Leelou and Darthe? I'm having a hard time reading them this game

 

 

No real read on Leelou at the moment; I want to see more content from her, and I know she's not really a D1 type of girl (except, apparently, when she chooses to view me instead of recruiting me on N0, and no, I'm not bitter at all).  I like where Darthe's head is at thus far ... but it's Darthe, so just liking what he's laid down thus far doesn't bring me close to clearing him.

 

Anyway, I hear where you're coming from on POE, but with everyone and their sister in the game townreading you, I'm fairly certain I'm talking to a ghost right now, and I'm not going to give out any clears more definitive than "not in my top 3 lynch candidates" to prevent the 1 or 2 other players I'm fairly sure are town from getting killed themselves.

@Hally: look back at the votes themselves for easy bandwagon votes and compare to your reads? If you have the time, I'm just wondering if you see anything there. I'm just about mafia'd out tonight. lol

Another reactive post from Thane. Dude, calm down.

 

I'm not discounting tone reads. Day 1 Thane and Dice will frequently have a 'better' solve than me (if town) (which is partially why I try to read them early). I have more success recently with Dice than Thane, and can only confidently read Thane if he's being uber-involved, he isn't this game yet

 

Re Dice; It's not the validity of the argument it's the fact that's what he's choosing to post about. So far he's made one or two posts that have reads/game solve intent. Everything else is essentially fluff (including the posts about tone reads). The timing of his 'game solve' posts coming before I 'wanted to town read' him worries me, given his absence of them afterwards.

 

In this game, I liked his read on Seph, but I can't clear him from one town read.

I gotcha. I haven't really looked at a Dice ISO to see what content he has posted, it was mostly a feeling from me. But.. well. Harry Potter. Don't trust me. That game is going to be a dark cloud over my head for a long time to come.

if id been here for DL the only way i vote tina is consolidation. There was no REASON to lynch her.  But saying that im not really feeling the flow of this game   am a bit unattached to it so not sure how good my reads are. Im really looking for D2 as a fresh start  start putting pieces together4 once we get info

Shad I'm very wary of. His reaction post to Seph asking for a vote was very OOC and then playing it off like a reaction test felt like backtracking. That coupled with him calling the trap from Kivam just feels so weird. He's coming off as very wary this game but still has those really townie moments interspersed. I've never really had to question my read of Shad before, and that has me thinking that he's mafia.

 

As for Talya, I need a lot more time for her. I like her reads list, I need to go back to it and look it over though because I mostly skimmed it. But I have a hard time reading Talya to being with.

Are you saying your head is wrong? Shad plays pretty clean games. If his content isn't up to par, then he might be in his first scum game.
